For that matter anyone knows the state of the rental business when Bayou Billy came out (mid 88) ?
nobody heard of it either until emulators became common
Power Blade was being advertised in magazines before it even got its US make over and name, and here it is for sale at Toys 'R Us in 91 apparently for 20$

The price tickets in the TRU aisle were below the box display, not above, you dope.
Japanese version of the game the character looks like Mega Man with a boomerang. A former NP staff was hired by Taito and he decided to redesign to character into the Schwarzenegger clone, he also added the more mazelike levels and it ended up being a much better game for it.
Mom probably got worried because of the cover artwork, Billy's head looks 'shopped as frick.
Anyway, she saved you from a needless frustration with artificial difficulty, be thankful.
They turned their best IPs into pachinko machines. Like Castlevania for instance. At least Konami is now making some nice game collections of the old stuff tho.

The NES version has it's difficulty cranked up to the point where it's not really fun anymore. Famicom version is much more fun by comparison.
I like the fact that this game shouts at you its name when you turn it on
He deserves a sequel.
people generally don't identify with rednecks as heroes, and Louisianan bayou is a very particular type of redneck.
>Give him another chance, Konami.
