I’ve been playing every Pokemon game that dropped since I was a wee Sinnohfetus but BDSP is where i had to break the streak, PLA was fun but I didnt try SV either. There’s nothing to say about these games that hasn’t been said, its a cheap soulless game that barely goes above checking “Sinnoh Remake” off of Gamefreaks to-do list.
I'm forcing myself through it right now so that I can breed a perfect shiny HA Nidoking to transfer to my Home boxes for future use in whatever game comes next and I can't be assed doing it in Shield. If GF blueball my favourite mon again I'm gonna get violent.
Anyway I'm also playing through my copy of Platinum again side by side so I can experience both.

They added a new ribbon to the contests. I would also point out that your dexited mon can get the Tower ribbon in BDSP, but the balance of the Tower is so fricked that your favorite shitmon probably isn’t going to fare well. There’s also the daily ribbons, but I hope for your sake that you got them in ORAS (because BDSP removed the feature of giving them to your entire party). The footprint ribbon is also back again, and it works fine. The money ribbons are back, but despite being able to play stonks in the Underground, you can only hold 999,999 dollars, making the process as tedious as possible.
You can buy pedestals in the department store. Then you convert those pedestals to orbs via the Underground vendors. After that, you just have to wait for the Underground vendors to have a good deal on a TM that you can buy with red / blue orbs. Rinse. Repeat. It’s the fastest way to grind money in the game, but the deals offered are out of your hands. I recommend saving beforehand, especially in the beginning while you’re learning the process.
I’ll add that it’s very tedious. The devs didn’t cap the number of items you can sell / convert to your max cash / item limit (meaning you can sell more than you can get back in money / convert more pedestals into orbs than you can hold), so you have to repeat certain steps multiple times each trip. BDSP is *very* lacking in convenience features.

I don’t disagree with this, but for what it’s worth, you can pick up these two turds for around ~$40 new if you have some reason for wanting to play them. That rare price drop really is indicative of their quality, though.

These are the only reasons to play BDSP. Sad.
