Why do these random exclamation marks appear and they do nothing when I interact with them?
My memory is spotty, but doesn't that pop up when you're nearby an enemy that will drop something after you kill them?
I couldn't beat the game on my first playthrough, not enough ammo. Especially considering how easy it is to waste all your ammo on bosses.
But, it's ALWAYS the same enemies that drop ammo. So I ended up learning/remembering which enemies drop ammo, kill those, and dodge the enemies that don't drop anything. Sometimes to run past them, you need to learn to bait the zombies by aiming at them to make them move, so you have enough space to run past without triggering an encounter.
I don't remember the exclamation marks. All I remember is that at certain key points in the story, some items, including some REALLY important ones, magically appear in already visited rooms that were previously empty, even when you have no reason to go back to those rooms, and nothing to tell you something new happened. Grenade launcher is acquired like this iirc. It's shit.
Would you still recommend the game? To normal or Resident Evil fans?
Nta, but only as a novelty to play for a few minutes. If you like it then keep going. The real re gb game to check out is the prototype for gbc. It's nearly 100% playable iirc, it's really good for what it is
What's RE1 GBC missing?
Any tips on the armor vests? Should I equip them right off the bat or wait?
What were thinking withthe combat system
The more powerful the weapon the harder it is to aim
This is one of those games where it's ok to use save states or a guide because it's full of bullshit
Yeah it's not too bad with save states. I fricking hate how the game handles crawling zombies. If they don't go down in the first battle then they'll be crawling around exploration mode. Which means they might be easier to avoid but if you come back to the area they'll be fully moving. And If you get grabbed when they're crawling then that means they get a full new health bar. So it'll take the same amount of bullets to put them down. They can do this shit like 2 times.
Also the game loves to randomly spawn zombies out of nowhere.
I really don't feel bad about using save state especially how they give you so few saving spots.
The way this game handles crawling zombies is fricking moronic
Bamp
The Tyrant looks like Mike Tyson.
The graphics on this game were excellent. Shame about literally everything else.
I had this game. It was impossible
How is it impossible?
I'm doing pretty well in this game right now. I have tons of ammo. Of course I am using save states
Is there a point in giving the other characters guns and using them in combat?
Yeah, it allows you to switch to that character and use the weapon, since you cant switch stuff during combat.
I've always wondered if there's a good game underneath all the poor design choices and irritating elements of RE: Gaiden or if the idea was doomed from the start?
Nah It's not a bad game just really difficult and full of bizarre design decisions. I actually think the weird combat works well for the game. It's not a bad game for the GBC
How would you fix/improve this game's combat?
Just make it a top down shooter
Man frick that ending
The ending is canon. It’s why Leon is doing flips and tanking cement breaking punches in RE4.
why is the word "gaiden" never translated? does side story really sound that much worse?
I'm sorry you were born after September 11, 2001.
thats not an answer.
Children don't deserve answers, children deserve spankings.
Gaiden is cooler, yes.

Cautionary warning for the real zombie apocalypse. Too many potheads in the world, not enough 2nd amendment chads. Learn your lessons well.
I really hate this fricking game.
I have it and the manual. I'm considering selling it, and using that fat stack to fill put my PS2 and 360 collections with good games I actually like.
However, if I do that I will not own "every Resident Evil game", anymore. So I hang onto it.
You have every version of every game?
That's a lot of games.
serious question, do you think the scrapped 1:1 port that was cancelled last moment would have done better than this game?
Probably not. Resident Evil 1 on the DS didn’t do well either.
People on handhelds just don’t want horror games, the system isn’t the right atmosphere for it.
