Last time I did that you said it wasn't mine, so no.

its actually a joke how much of pussies modern smogon are. theres been broken mons in every generation you just had to nut up and deal with but gen 9 mindbroke smogon. a pokemon that toxic stalls and knocks off heavy duty boots is banworthy to them.

I unironically think the posters on this board are probably better than the finch brownnosers.
        t. got recs and voted against every single one of your moronic bans this gen

Funny how VGC doesn't ban random shit for no reason and still manages to have a more diverse meta than the autistic troony simulator

Another day, another thread where a shit player obsessess over Smogon. It must feel weird seething over a community day and night while they give zero shits about your uninformed opinions.

real talk how does this affect the metagame. some people argue that Gliscor was just a symptom of what Gholdengo does, but I guarantee ghold will start showing up less and glisc still tanked everything without a dengo in the back

If only there was a mon that completely walled and outsped Gliscor. Shit would be kind of sweet if it could hide behind a sub and nasty plot for free. Heck throw in sticky web to stop anything trying to outspeed you on the ground and maybe a defensive tera type like steel or ghost for revenge killers. You could give it the ability levitate and laugh as people forget levitate makes you immune to ground type moves.

If Hydreigon gets Toxic'd or Knock Off'd on the switch, it becomes trivial for any special bulky mon to deal with.

Smogon dies when Pokémon dies. Their legacy is a tiering system that mostly works. Tiers are the only way everything can be made usable against other players

homie. theyve made ass backwards decisions since gen 4, they now have a ubers banlist that itself could be a tier. your clown website is run by morons and nobody with half a brain to think for themselves takes them seriously. stop being a smogshill.

VGC infamously has a far less diverse meta than Smogon OU. The bans really do help create more diversity since you get rid of oppressive, overcentralizing Pokemon allowing for more strategies to crop up.

When are they going to admit that tera is the problem? In past gens gliscor was never a problem, any ice move or offensive water type could take care of it. Now it can switch to being water type at any moment, removing all counterplay.

tera harms gliscor more than it helps. theres no ice types that can outlast it and it would lose its spikes immunity.

        >tera harms gliscor more than it helps. theres no ice types that can outlast it and it would lose its spikes immunity.
No the frick it doesn't. Gliscor is one of the best abusers of Tera. Defensive Tera is always better than offensive Tera, and Gliscor is the best user of defensive Tera. It keeps its badly poisoned status meaning it doesn't fear paralysis from switching away from Ground type, it heals 1/8th of its HP every turn allowing it to heal off spikes damage in 2 turns. That's assuming you don't remove the spikes in the first place.

Gliscor was seeing quite a bit of usage in Ubers even before the ban. It got more usage than Zacian, Palafin, Magearna, or Darkrai.

its actually a terrible waste of your tera and you will lose your games if you blew it on gliscor instead of something that actually benefits from it

when they banned dynamax people who don't play comp complained and that mindbroke them
they're not gonna ban another generational gimmick. don't be surprised when we end up in this same situation next gen.

        Anonymous

        ??
Dynamax being banned was universally praised by vast majority of people. Even the 32 people who voted not to ban Dynamax only did so because they thought it needed more time to settle. People genuinely don’t feel like Tera is as broken as Dynamax.

        Anonymous

Oh, don't get them wrong, they absolutely want to ban Tera. But they're waiting until it's fully researched and available as a mechanic (I.E. DLC2) before doing anything, which is absolutely justified considering Ogerpon sets the precedent of broken overcentralizing tera transformations and the 19th Tera Type is probably going to be busted as shit.

  16. 7 months ago
    Anonymous

And with DLC2 a month away, there won't possibly be any time for them to realistically suspect and get rid of Gholdengo and Kingambit before all eyes are on the new Pokemon, 19th Tera Type, new Tera Transformations and new TMs.
Then Tera as a whole gets banned, and that secures Gholdengo because "now that the meta's more predictable, Gholdengo is easier to deal with! :^)" while anyone that complains about Kingambit is simply told "bro... your Upper Hand?"

    >Old Pokemon gets massively buffed directly and indirectly
    >/vp/ can’t comprehend that Oldmon that was strong before and is now way stronger might be banned
The best analogy I can come up with is imagine if Ferrothorn got “Burn Heal”, a new ability that heals Ferrothorn for same amount as Poison Heal would, and also ignores Burn’s damage halving (or give it Poison Heal with Super Toxic Orb that can poison Steel types).
Now add STAB Earthquake for Steels/Poisons, has usable Speed in exchange for some bulk, and put it in a metagame where Knock Off is rare and hazard removal is uncommon.
Frankly I expect /vp/ to celebrate Gliscor being banned because it’s a Lando fused with Ferrothorn with double leftovers.

Do you think Ferrothorn is coming back with Tera Water?

Problem is they keep pigeonholing themselves into the shit corner & that pile's been growing this whole time in which soon they'll finally HAVE to deal with the major issue(s) stinking up all of gen9. Will it be the Hazard Harasser Gholdengo? The Cudgel of Cuckuldry in Kingambit? Or Tera as a whole? We'll see after a month from now but my bet's on them never letting go of those crutchmons because they never have in previous gens & never will.

The best special attacking mons that had ice beam as coverage do not exist in OU. If Hidden power still existed then Gliscor would also be gone. Gliscor ban is a result of shit ice types, dexit and moveset restrictions.

I don't really know the meta since I haven't played newer games but how are ice type moves not everywhere? I remember them being mandatory to deal with dragons.

          Anonymous

Fairy types cover dragon, fighting and dark types. The most common pokemon in the tier are water(8), flying(5) and fairy(5) types. Viable Ice and Electric mons are hard to come by in OU especially when the rest of the tier easily carry fire fighting ground or rock.
