I will be sure to pirate it.
Man I hope no trannies will be involved in the development. They already destroyed ULTRAKILL
What happened to ultrakill? I think Gloomwood dev is not sjw, you can check his twitter page.
Nah, I already played Thief and this looks worse. Looks pretty bad too, I know it's 2001 and hardware simply can't do better but still.
check youtube playlist link in the op
For what purpose?
you will see how cool this game is with crazy attention to details and SOUL.
Gloomwood looks more like Dishonored than Thief, there's a much bigger emphasis on killing stuff and it provides the player with a lot of different tools for doing so.
Thief's tools mostly focused on facilitating and enhancing stealth, something which I much prefer.
>there's a much bigger emphasis on killing stuff and it provides the player with a lot of different tools for doing so.
Main reason I won't bother with it. I could stomach ye olden nostalgia graphixx if at least it gave me more Thief but I don't want what this game wants to be, which is not Thief yet will gleefully reference it and squeeze every bit of nostalgia it can.
graphics is the least important aspect of video games why do you even talking about graphics in the first place.
>nah i've already played thief
>i'd play it if it were more like thief
>URL is thiefwithguns.com
>not realizing that adding guns is antithetical to Thief
It's kinda funny since that's the route Warren Spector took to make Deus Ex (he played Thief and got filtered by the stealth), but calling Gloomwood a Deus Ex spiritual successor would only demonstrate how much more basic it is.
Comparing it to Dishonored wouldn't have the same nostalgic appeal, and despite System Shock 2 being on the Dark Engine (and therefore having stealth mechanics) they wouldn't be able to compare themselves to that game either due to the lack of similar themes.
i'll check it out, looks fun. combining immersive simulation with survival horror will probably emphasize the abilities for the player to adapt to the emergent scenarios of the former, and force them to work with limited supplies and stacked odds of the latter. you can argue that system shock 2 did the same but the focus on RPG progression results in something less simulationist, so i cant wait for what this brings to the table.
gloomwood isnt a thief clone. its meant to be a survival horror game, not a robberyinfiltration simulator, hence the focus on combat complementing stealth, as well as having interconnected areas with backtracking, inventory tetris and over the top violence.
its boomer cope now that everyone else is enjoying games from or styled after the 90s since they cant actually play them, only look at screenshots, and that they feel less special.
>early access for a game like this
Fricking gay. This should have been released in a completed state.
This. Devs are becoming more and more lazy shits and it's pretty ironic since games have never been more easier to make than present day but at the same time have never been more unpolished
yeah he should have just poofed it into existence
what a load of shite
imagine defending early access what a little consoomer homosexual you are
post the last 10 games you bought
you aren't a consumer are you?
which just goes to show
>buying games
oh I am laffin
>yeah he should have just poofed it into existence
It's been like 3 years now and it's not their first game.
yeah assuming this means we get a 1/4 of the actual game, I'd rather just wait another year or even a few and get a finished product
>early access
it's over
cool
gonna pirate
I love this game's concept as I'm a massive Thief fan but damn, early access releases are so fricking dumb and annoying
