>level cap for this homosexual is 9
>literally by the time I beat the rival the first time my starter is level 8
>have several more routes I need to go through
>all the other mons are shitmons, except geodude who I didnt catch
Are you supposed to be wildly overleveled when you fight him? Brock's cap was 14 in RB and 12 in Y

brock doesn't get a lvl 9 500 BST mon with the ability to hit two out of three starters for super effective damage in RBY
Falkner would be much harder than brock at the respective "level cap" so yeah, this might have been designed to be fought while over-leveled

most of your post makes sense, but Pidgeotto's BST is only 349

If you battle every wild Pokemon instead of running away, more often than not you end up overleveled in most Pokemon games.

Not really, past the beginning wild mons give a pittance of Exp, and you don’t really run into too many

It’s weird, RB have 4 trainer battles and 2 rival battles before Brock, and he has Pokémon level 12-14, and GS have 13 trainer battles and 1 rival battle before Faulkner, and he had Pokémon level 7-9.

don't do sprout tower until after falkner. in gsc the whole place is optional. also just be better at spreading out your exp among your catches.
watch out for bird keeper abe tho

Wild and enemy trainer pokemon don't even reach level 10 until the third gym in GSC.
      It's wild.

Do you think some morons in Pokemon world actually do nuzlocke challenge? If pokemon lost a battle even a single time, they would say "you're dead to me" and release/ditch them?

The hard part is not even his pokemon being a higher level, Pidgeotto is only a problem for route 1 critters and Chikorita and maybe Cyndaquil, but that they both have Mud Slap which covers for their main weakness at that point of the game and also reduces accuracy.
Even with Geodude I had to overlevel to beat him.
