A huge issue is that 3 scaled back a frickton compared to the 2 games.
Wayyy less clothes/customization in every way, killed off/left all the old characters in Limbo (probably to try to promote the mobile game that flopped) and left the game on the cliffhanger.
About the best thing the series still had going for it was having companions for the solo hunters and MHRise stole that now too.

I think a lot of that was just from 3 being made by a different studio and rushed out the door, there's at least one missing cutscene and on release there were even a couple of parenthesized literal translations that didn't make the final localization sweep on time.

Not all of us have a lot of free time for things like that unfortunately, and when I pick it back up I don't always remember what I was doing, so I usually go investigate my base for a bit to figure out what I'm doing or working towards which is also a progress killer.

The main issue has nothing to do with the pokemon dressing room and everything to do with it being a lazy asset flip of their previous game (Craftopia, also an asset flip game) that's only doing well because of the gimmick of "Pokemon with guns" despite sharing nothing with Pokemon outside of eerily similar monster designs and capturing mechanic.

Fate Grand Order, you're the magus summoning numerous servants and effectively the one leading the charge by bringing the forces forth. Blue Archive, you're the sensei in charge of tons of girls, even the outcasts (that are playable). Girls' Frontline, you're handling T-Dolls that several organizations want dead despite being a totally incidental self-insert in charge.
By all accounts, if you were in Hilda's chair in GE3 you'd literally be a stock gacha protagonist.
Don't forget that in Granblue you are the captain of an airship.
Hell, Honkai Impact has the player character both as a teacher (by technicality) and as the captain of the airship they use to get around. But you don't appear in the main story at all.

Aragami eat everything, dissolve into matter that enriches the soil and atmosphere, and the cycle continues

We also know, that aragami are created to look reminiscent of worldly gods and mythical figures/creatures. Whether or not this is to incite fear or possibly reverence into acceptance of death we just don't know. Humanoid aragami are also still basically unexplained. Phym and Shio just exist somehow and they defy everything known about Aragami other than the fact they are still basically giant clumps of cells with no internal organs

The God Eater anime was kind of a mess, but I think it did a really good job at showcasing how shitty life is for normal people in that universe. The episode with Lenka and his sister was the best in the series for me. Pretty fricked how they showed her delusional while dying and embracing Lenka and then it cuts to the Aragami eating her.
I thought the anime was overall pretty awful, but yes episode nine is the best if the series.
I was rooting for them even if I knew that Lenka would end up alone.

Some people like to use Buster Blade because of insane DPS charge attack skill but it's not fun to use because of the monster like in that webm, most of time you get your ass raped before you get a chance to attack. Go play Scythe if you want a weapon with good mobility and decent damage. Don't play Short Blade because it took forever to kill things if you play offline.
I think the only exception is the oracle short blade if you're running gun.
Sure it's faster than any CV enemy but it's really not gonna be the straw that breaks the revenants back.
As long as the aragamis don't hit their heart, revenants can infinitely respawn and slowly adapt their mind and body against any spastic movement.
Honestly the only "aragamis" that would ever be a menace to revenants are ironically enough, god eaters who have extensive knowledge of revenants abilities and physiology.
Isn't that exactly what the antagonist in Code Vein banked on? He wanted to expose the revenants to the outside world because despite revenants being too weak at the moment to beat aragami their whole thing is that they won't die and also evolve so eventually (if they don't lose their minds first) they will become strong enough to do it.
It's not so much about them being "too weak" as it was making them evolve because he was a mad scientist wanting to see his work grow. When the protag crew fight fricked up versions of some Aragami in the DLC they're honestly not anything special beyond the novelty as a threat, so the main crew at the very least are as capable as any God Eater.
Oh, I didn't know that, I never played the DLC content because it didnd't seem very good.
I still love the whole twist that it turns out the gaol wasn't to trap all the vampire monsters in but to keep everything else out, because despite everything the apocalypse in there isn't as bad as the one outside. Like you have the scene with the one Aragami getting through and it one-shots the same guys who patrol the final area of the game. Even the red herring of the revenant soldiers being created to fight the Queen, when they were actually created from her to fight the Aragami but failed and practically no one remembers because the revenants lose part of their memory every time they die. worked pretty well.
The staff was pretty much all just God Eater staff. They probably thought it was cool to have a connected universe. We just don't know where in the timeline that Code Vein takes place.

God Eater is the fast paced one and there's an actual decent story and lore to them. You're a newtype who can use both melee and gun weapons. You can customize your bullets and completely break the game in 1 and 2. Soundtrack goes stupid hard.
Supposedly Toukiden is a MH clone that the MH devs liked, I didn't care that much about it since the enemies felt too spongy even for MH clone standards.
Freedom Wars involves you doing missions to reduce your prison sentence to 0 years, cute maid robot you can customize, vine movement (think it was inspired by AoT), but the fun was comfy lobbies with other Anon prisoners. There was online missions that would let you stack up points for your IRL region so you got to be competitive (eg. New York vs Seattle). Customization was pretty fun and there was even weapon upgrading autism.
Soul Sacrifice isn't really a MH, but there's big fairy tale monsters you get to beat the shit out of. Every monster and character had some messed up lore, but it made you want to keep on reading. There was a mechanic that let you either save the people who turned into the monsters or sacrifice them for your own gain there's some lore that shows that sacrificing is usually better than saving
PSP sure got me into series that I would never normally play. I miss it.

Ciel is... honestly she was too passive with things that aren't related to Julius during early and mid story. But I guess her character episode somewhat compensated for it even if it's still kinda lacking.
Claire doesn't even feel like a heroine even with Phym considering her as the mom role. The MC barely interacted with her from start to finish, let alone having a moment with her.

God no, it lacked large monster variety to an absurd degree, all you had were the standard robot skeletons with all their variants including centaurs and different weapon attachments, robot tigers, spiders, dragons and octopi. The body part damage mechanic and miniguns were fun but the game was too undercooked to be better than a series that got multiple entries to improve.

How's GE3 difficulty? Is there atleast decent postgame challenges? I've heard nothing about it but how easy it is, so I've never bothered with it in the end.
3 Is pretty easy overall, but I think a lot of people who played it never really checked the postgame content that came in with updates, which added outfits, character episodes, challenge missions, etc. It's never quite on par with blitz hannibal but it's tougher than anything in the story.

I remember thr PC Rage Burst undub being incomplete though like missing voice line in missions and cutscenes still dubbed.
If you ever play using the undub, the Rage Burst mechanic tutorial mission will hang up after you finish it. You have to reinstall the game without the undub patch to proceed.

Monster Hunter moved on with World and ironically between Generations and Rise got anime as frick without actually looking it, meanwhile GE3 just straight up felt like an upscaled game from the prior titles that didn't actually bother evolving in any worthwhile way but presentation past the PSP era. if the Vita wasn't dead before 2019, you'd swear it was a Vita port and Shift got hit by Bamco so hard that they'd never be able to afford a MHW esque approach.

Maybe not directly, but it certainly played a part
One of my favorite parts of playing God Eater Resurrection was seeing how cutscenes evolved. GE1 had pretty static cutscenes, and mainly used characters and monsters with their idle animations and some custom animations.
The Burst Arc had actual different posing for characters and more dynamic movement. There's also a short fight scene.
Resurrection had two amazing fight scenes, and characters rarely ever used in-game animations anymore.

I played 2 with the EN dub and it was fine. If anything it was better than the first one because you don't have characters like Shio or Ren with western hags trying to pull off a childish voice.
God Eater Resurrection as a whole has questionable English directing. I still don't understand why they made it different from Rage Burst, which had ok English direction.
Yeah 2 is ok but still kinda want the JP dub experience
there's english patch for 2 in psp but nothing for the rage burst in vita sadly
GE had a all star JP dub cast thought
Vidya is for playing, not jacking off to seiyuu.
I wish I could replay GE 2 on Steam Deck but it's completely borked there
