There are no downloads on gog-games. They only have links to downloads on filehosters like 1fichier and gofile. You can just copypast those links into JDownloader2 or whatever download manager you use.
Does gog even do anything that good for their games? Why should I use their setups when I can just download the game myself? Especially with dos games, because their DOSBOX configuration is crap.
For win3.x-95 games I can see a use, it can be a bit tricky to setup the VM for those two. After that like Dawn of War and it's pointless.
Do they fix the bugs of the game or something?

Having an actual GOG release on your hands is good for simplicity and authenticity.
Updates are a pain, though. But then again so are updates for scene releases if one group releases the base and another decides to crack the updates.
Sorry I meant for old games. For newer titles I agree, I prefer GOG. I got Factorio on steam and had to deal with Steam's crappy DRM.
But for something like Neverwinter Nights, what does using GOG offer vs getting your old disc or downloading an old copy on ISO sites?
Some releases had some real work put into it, it's hit and miss I suppose.
