Because that's what they should've done when the very first steam thread poped it's ugly head in the catalog nearly two decades ago but they didn't....So now we're stuck with unironic shills permeating those threads and the board ,all the while the devs of those games cater to twittertrannies for brownie points and take huge steaming dumps on this place decrying everyone in it a ''toxic'' but still relying on their money.
So to answer your rhetorical ,it's because of regret and the fact that after you fail you must claim your small victories where you can.Nobody wants to have a steam thread and a GOG thread and soon™ an unironic EGS shill thread in the catalog at the same time.
People think that piracy annoys GOGgays more than other gays, because their catalog are so easy to pirate. So you get pirateshills in GOG threads.
This is why you see so much "Server shutting down" and "You will own nothing" over on the Steam threads, because people think those bother the Steamgays more.
I already picked up Cyberpunk, Sudocats, and the Bard's Tale trilogy recently. I also picked up Mad Max, Pathologic, Moonstone and Kingsway fairly recently as well, although I don't know if those are still on sale.
I think I'm good for awhile.
