The problem with most space games is it always feels so small. I don't need 1000 planets, but I would like different races, ecosystems and culture to actually feel rooted into a specific planet with influences from the greater "ruler" of the galaxy. Like Mass Effect 1/2 are an okay example but there are too few towns to really get a feel for it. Wide array of races but also barely anything that wasn't constant hostile areas.

they could get away with it in BG3 because no zoomer has ever played BG1 and 2, so they had no idea just how much better the older games were. But with Mass Effect, those games have had way bigger mainstream appeal and a Larian game wouldn't look good in comparison. Larian simply doesn't have the talent to make a game like Mass Effect. They can't write good party members, they can't write an interesting story, every time they tried anything but turn based, the gameplay sucked ass. If Larian really want to make a space game, they need to make it as different from ME as possible, so nobody can compare them.

BG3 outright feels slow and tedious when compared to BG2 and the difference in writing quality is extremely noticeable.
