adds more mindgames. don't even need to run the move but just threaten with a pokemon that can learn upper hand and bait a pokemon to not use a priority move.
and if its too unpopular and no one expects anyone to use upper hand you tech it in and punish

It will have the slightest niche of dealing with priority-spamming choice-banders but it doesn’t seem optimal most of the times. Who gets it could be a factor on how useful it is

Waste of a move, I'd rather just run fake out

      It's Sucker Punch/Kingambit counter.

Not good or bad. Depends what mons get access to it.

It's a doubles move, it's a reliable counter to Prankster users which is huge, and locks down other priority attacks without needing to switch in terrain or an ability. In singles it will probably be too situational to fit on a moveset.

Only good in doubles, and even then if it doesn't cuck Fake Out its not worth a move slot

The mechanics of the move requires that’s it has a priority bracket above most other priority moves (above +3). Fake is -+3 so Upper Hand should counter Fake out.

      HURRR DURRRR HURRRR

depends on how much priority it has
if it cant beat Espeed or feint then no real point

Depends on how strong the move is and how much priority it has
If I can use it to oneshot a Tera Normal Extreme Speed user then its great, otherwise its not worth it
Wouldn't be surprised if Inner Focus Dragonite becomes a lot more common

Does the flinch only work if the enemy was trying a priority move or am I reading this wrong?

      yes. Prankster counter

The move in general only works if the enemy was using a priority move. It's like fake out + sucker punch.

Hilarious vs a choice locked ESpeed Dragonite but it failing if the opponent doesn’t use a priority move makes it shit. It should have lost it’s priority and/or flinch effect instead.

    RIP Grimmsnarl and Murkrow.

When they reveal things like this it's always because they expect it to be a counter or "one up" to the current meta (see reveal trailers for Tera Blast, Shed Tail, Neutralizing Gas, etc). This move is clearly meant to give a check for Pokemon like Grimmsnarl, Kingambit and Murkrow who indiscriminately get to use Prankster + status or Sucker Punch all day. I guarantee it's also a Fake Out counter for when Incineroar comes back.

Depending on its priority bracket and speed, it could possibly be used to pop off a hit before a mon can use protect which can be pretty useful. but the fact it fails if thr target doesnt use a priority themselves makes it too much of a gamble

Created to deal with tera normal Dragonite.
