I'm seriously considering one for easy emu of everything script on a portable platform I can just throw up in the living room bigscreen and party emu it up with some friends and family.
Haven't messed with the steam emu yet but I hear it will just recognize shit and update, and the pc one seems to be behind the deck one since that's where their dev money is I assume. I have more money than time to spend being cheap and cobbling together shit like a poorgay anymore to be totally honest while pretending to be somehow above your basic time is money equations.
I knew one of you gays would instantly pop up with this. Do you also drive a kit car? No? Well you can certainly see why it's moronic to act like you do then.
Cars are not a hobby of mine, no. So you just don't actively enjoy messing with tech, setting up systems, fixing things, etc.? I find my hobbies are far more engaging and satisfying if I put time and effort into them and not just dump some cash. It's a mental health thing. To each their own, but I do pity people who just want to passively consume their professional work.

NTA but I build my own PCs and I’m old enough that I hate fricking with them to fix them, I just want to slap them together and have them work. The fun part is the theorycrafting the build and picking the parts and then enjoying it all working, imo
You would have to have weapons grade autism to enjoy troubleshooting technology. Imagine enjoying your fetters like a natural slave.

Gibberish. Fixing problems is masculine, engaging in non-optimal time expenditure is what a hobby is. You are a child of passivity and low wit, addicted to consumption.

Yeah farting about with .ini files in order to play children's games is the height of masculine virtue.

There is merit to what you say, however counterpoint: After being paid 40 hrs a week to fix technology at scale, I just want to relax with not doing that in my downtime. It is not wholly a hobby for me, and I am the cobbler with no shoes.

Ah, that could be the thing. I'm in no way connected to tech in my professional life. Concession given.

>Conceding a point is fellatio.
What a fragile child.
I've never been happier with a video game related purchase and I use it everyday. I'll play it until I die or it breaks/gets stolen, at which point I'd buy another one.
This thread is low quality af though. "Good RPGs?" with no elaboration is just bait that will unfortunately stay on this board for a week.
I played through Farland Story on mine, just finished it tonight. I did have some issues with the track pad suddenly lagging the game at times after awhile when using it, but the right stick and clicking it in to click worked fine too. Cool series btw, I'll have to check out the other translated ones on PC98 too.
If you want something that's actually on Steam, the Etrian Odyssey ports are great, and modding in the better font from the Japanese release is pretty easy. Ys I and II ran great too but you'll want to use Proton GE if you want to see the cutscenes (i.e. the openings and ending of Ys II).

have a nice day
any rpg that can play well with a gamepad I guess...
Earthbound, Yakuza 0, lunacid, dread delusion
UnReal World
Knights of the Chalice
uh.... anything you can play with a controller? what?
if it has a trackpad like the steam controller then you can play anything you want
It's crazy to me that people buy these. I wouldn't use it if it was free.

So you don't enjoy DIY? Sounds like you are emasculated by your scheduling.

Ayo give me your free one, I won't feel bad about a free SteamDeck dying in the bathtub.
