Just literally finished XC2 right now. Did they ever explain who/what happened to that Ortos thing in this or XC3 beyond he just fricking disappear? If Ortos appears in this, I'm going to buy this otherwise I'm going to skip and play XC3 because this is just a prequel. I'm guessing that he/she is a major character in 3 maybe?
It has been long ass time since I played 1. Did Ortos appear in it? I don't remember any major character with that name but I may have just forgotten about it. Is it the final boss? That Klaus alter? Can't remember his name now..could be Ortos kek. I didn't search for it because of possible XC 3 spoiler.
Narratively, you're intended to play 2 up until a certain scene in the World Tree late in the game, switch to Torna and play through it entirely, and then switch back to 2 and finish it.
But that's kind of dumb and certainly not good for the pacing of 2's base game.
I played 2 first and I think Torna is better, but I can't say for sure if I only feel that way because I played 2 first or not.
I played it after XB 2 and I think that it is okay stand-alone but far better if you played XB 2.
Most of the games are best played in release order I still regret I played NEO twewy first
XC2 and 3 are some of the most overrated JRPGs in recent memory.
Lower your expectations and you should probably be able to enjoy, despite the heaps of issues.

Lackluster combat and aggravating story, but as far as fantasy adventure goes the second game is pretty good. You get to explore fantasy environments set on top of the backs of huge creatures. Few other games let you explore such an imaginative setting with such great visuals. Music is also decent. The third game takes place in a generic earth-like world so not as compelling of a reason to play it.

In your headcanon maybe, XB2 has an 83 on metacritic and it took 5 years and for XB3 to fall a bit short (which is another reason why it's not that overrated) for people to appreciate the game.
Torna fixes the problems with 2's battle system but doesn't have enough content to justify itself. FR felt like more of a "full" game. However, it's decent. If you go back to play the others, do them in release order but save X for last, as it is the best one and will never be topped until Nintendo learns how to make real consoles again.
It's good on its own but if you play XC2 afterward, you'll have had some stuff spoiled on you.
Get a refund. It's a piece of shit mobile game garbage. Not an RPG.
>garage sale
>refund
>Torna
>mobile game
/v/irgins get more moronic by the day.
why dont you go back to Ganker man, leave that guy alone. these new XC games suck ass
Torna doesn't even have the gacha elements moron

Ontos is Alvis.
You mean Ontos? There are bits and pieces at the end of XB 3 and more info in future redeemed

You can play it without any previous knowledge, but the story is a lot better if played after base game

Played both and i honestly dont get what it fixed. Feels like more of a different flavor, rather than 'fixed'
It's the Lacan flashback from Xenogears, you're meant to do it at the 75% mark or the base game or after you beat it.
Not too sure.
