Staves are pretty powerful,they have innate armor pierce which is nice, and there is a lot of gear and even potions that increase max spell damage permanently. I'm early in though and still on circle 2. Scrolls are really good for some cheese since you can get powerful ones early on(example, I used shadowbeast transform scroll to kill the undead and see what they were guarding, but reloaded since I'm not sure if I want to waste it there.) Also shit ton of dark mushrooms for sale/around the world my base mana is like 40 but it's up to 120 with all my boosts/gear
