I was playing Assassins Creed Valhalla over the summer. Put in about 30 hours. Checked my progress and I had uncovered 8% of the map. By this point I was bored as frick and burnt out. I still haven't gone back to it and can't find the motivation to do so.
Psychonauts is pretty diverse with it's LGBT representation, but I feel with the current climate and last years goty not having a black man as the main character Deathloop is more deserving.

All I've played this year is Dread and the Outer Wilds DLC. Pretty happy with both of them.

Super Metroid's wall jump is pretty janky
I liked it a lot but I found the EMMI stuff to be super boring and not fun at all, also feels very railroaded compared to other Metroid games.
I played AM2R recently and I liked that a lot more, to be honest.
