Sadly, no. New powers/additions are really great, but the absolute best of BOTW was to discover/exploring the world. And in TOTK, you just revisit same locations.
And it doesn't solve the problem of open-world (like BOTW/Elden Ring). Too much copy-pasted caves/secpndary dungeon, too much useless content. To this day, I still think a smaller open-world with only unique locations is better. Yup, Wind Waker was a better game.

I had a lot of fun with breath of the wild. Now that I'm playing ToTK, I'm realizing this isn't something I wanna do multiple times. I don't wanna replay BoW or ToTk, I'm frankly tired of how long it takes to collect hundreds of things that I need to upgrade the stuff I want, I'm tired of shrines, I'm tired of not having weapons that break.
I regret my purchase and should have known I wouldn't like this by the fact that I never touched BoW after beating it the first time despite doing every shrine.
I'm having to rely on dupe glitches to get any enjoyment out of this.
What is it you need to upgrade? Hearts/stamina? It’s not too bad, honestly. The shrines aren’t hard or long. It’s a little time consuming to get 4, but if you see a bunch of shrines in close proximity, it’s not too bad. I don’t get the breakable weapon complaint. Yes I’d prefer if I could indefinitely keep the Fierce Deity sword (amiibo basically makes that possible anyway) but the game throws a lot of weapons at you. Plus with fuse, you can buff most weapons to a decent attack power. I admit the process is tedious, but it’s really not that frustrating. It’s frustrating to get good bows, swords, shields, whatever and have them break during an unimportant fight, but that’s about it. If you’re fighting decently powerful enemies, you’ll get decent loot out of it. Enough to replace whatever broke, so it’s kind of whatever and I just can’t understand the durability complaint.
That's a reflection of how you play the game. 1v1 isn't meant to be a challenge in this game if you're not facing a boss. This video conveniently cuts the part of combat where Link has to defeat his underlings and cannot be that boring even if the player was.
Underlings get 1 shot when you reach the point that you have silver enenies + black/blue/red enemies.
So you'll kill everything but the silver guy in 10 seconds with arrows and a few swings then you ragdoll the HP bloated fricker for 5 mins.

Those silver/white guys piss me the frick off. A generic enemy, but it takes more hits and does more damage. It feels like artificial difficulty when my well powered weapons don’t frick them up.
The pacing is terrible. It interrupts the rising action just before the climax to say "now this is why you shouldn't actually be invested in this particular character's struggle: everyone has it... LE HARD!". It's yet another zombie apocalypse in which mankind is the real monster. It took a story with a decent and reasonable conclusion and ripped it right back open to do nothing interesting with the setting, characters, or ideas, probably because there was nothing interesting to do with the setting, characters, or ideas. There are many reasons to say that game is shite.
All contrarianism aside, I just don't see it. It's just BotW but doubling down on everything that made it tedious. Also, they took away the infinite bombs and the ability to track shrines on the purah sheikah slate pad. 2/10.
