It looks nice in some games, but I hate how condescending they sounded when talking about people not liking it in FF16.
sir, your hogwarts legacy review
I hate that awkward clown so much.
His random psychotic laughter makes me uneasy
..... HAAA!!!!
he laughs like Barts teacher from the Simpsons
>Series S being around to keep devs in check is a bad thing

We now live in an age where AA Japjank on engines made for the PS3, from the likes of Falcom or Compile Heart, feel smoother to play than most modern action games, on the same hardware.
How do you chose a graphic style for a game? Trying to figure out which way to take the game I'm working on and I don't feel strongly either way.
What looks the most appealing to you while still letting you make a ton of assets in that style?
Concept art, see what looks the best, make a little demo to see if looks good in engine
lol I can't make concept art. I can work with blender and substance painter.
Texture painting is an options but not concept arting the entire thing
I feel like he's the only one in the game "journo" industry who consistently shits on the stuttering in modern games
Stutter, but not about how the pace of rendering tech is going faster than the pace of hardware. What early PS4Bone game went below 720p without heavy scrutiny?
Well yeah but you literally have to do 9 times the compute work rendering the same scene at 4k from 720p. 4x from 1080p. Resolution is probably the hardest to scale because after a certain point it really becomes hardware dependent, especially if you're doing multiple render passes.
Not that guy but there are many games running at shockingly low resolutions on console nowadays. I disagree with him though, I don't think the "rendering tech" is advancing much at all on console where there isn't even path tracing. Developers are just incompetent.
Not only is the graphics jump this gen much smaller than the previous one (which by itself was already a lot smaller than the one that came before... le ebin diminishing returns) there seems to be outright regression in resolution now, it's crazy. Games end up a blurry mess on console. Reminder that going from PS3 to PS4 there was a substantial jump in graphics (bigger than the one we're seeing here) *and* a huge jump in resolution, at the same time.
Indians on Twitter complain more about jaggies on shadows instead of the perf because no one actually plays games anymore. I'm glad games this gen are starting to have performance modes so I can finally play these bullshit console exclusives at 60fps.
Are they based for saying their GOTY is Hi-Fi Rush because it's a game that doesn't have stutter struggle or shader comp issues on PC, runs locked 4K 60 on Series X, and locked 1440p 60FPS on Series S. And is perfect on the Deck
Probably
I will give them credit for that. 15 yard penalty for putting Alan Wake 2 on the same list despite having almost all those issues, though.
DF heavily weights towards games that push the envelope from a tech standpoint regardless of how good it is as a game.
Their videos always feel too bloated.
The only thing DF is good for is this guy's optimized settings videos
>play game from literally 20 years ago
>looks good runs good
>play game from yesterday
>looks like shit runs like shit
