I was really expecting the bare minimum and they went all the way with this game. It's genuinely impressive it isn't totally fricked given it had a hard reboot in development. The only real critcism I think I could weigh towards it is that the island structure feels a lot better for the first two primal beasts, while everything after that is closer to being plot-heavy set-piece zones with heavy chases.
At the same time, the set-pieces are fantastic, and they really felt like they were handing me as many toys as possible letting us control the fricking mech and Bahamut because why the frick not.
Folca is also incredibly comfy. The npcs all have their own story like in trails games. For example, the 2 Erune's that spend the entire story looking for each other next to the wrong waterwheel was funny. They didn't need to do this, but the fact they went this far with complete random NPCs no one is going to interact with was just SOVL.

Each character has 2 unique sigils. Midget sells them both, one just uses the tokens and the other the mats.
I have no idea what IDs are but at least one of them should be insanely good for him I'd imagine.

Everyone gets two, they both are sold from the shop. They just require two different currencies.
Some people are even so lucky they rolled a + version that has both the traits together on 1 sigil.

I don't know about omitting important information, but having played with jp voices I can confirm that it's a very loose translation. Characters will make stupid quips when the original line is more serious or to the point and sometimes it's almost entirely different.

It took me 15 hours to do the base game on Hard mode, no side quests or anything just leisurely playing through. Then it took me an additional 10 hours of co-op play to get the True ending, but it can be done singleplayer too.

Yeah I suffered through multiple groups of randoms, some of them tried to requeue even but we still kept failing. It's probably the hardest fight in the game.

I honestly don't get the praise for the game. The combat is so shallow and boring, even for a "button masher" ARPG a la Nier. The character designs are bland, especially when you look at what's available in the gacha. The entire story is cringe and skip tier. I guess it's cool if all you want to do is coop a weeby arpg?
I think the unlockable character has a fair amount of depth to them.
I also think that all the stuff in the story concerning Rolan and Id is fun.
Lastly, I think the excellent boss fights make the game well worth it to experience them.

the pets contribute a decent chunk of ferry's dps and stun/s. it's actually better to just overcap than to lose out on their dps

because exploding the pets actually doesn't do a whole lot of damage. it's still worth it to dump them if you have a link attack or a skill to refill them instantly but it's not worth it to dump them so that you can generate more with light attacks

Recommended power going into very final fight is 17500. So other than being geared, make sure you aren't being damage capped by checking at the training dummy.
With these two DMG Cap sigils on im still in a spot where all my hits and finishers are the same number so I guess I could eke more damage out if i work on that. Will try to get some better sigils there.

I would slot in more health sigils and extra potions than damage cap to be honest. There's 2 dps check phases but they can be easily met by saving ougi. I could survive hits that would normally 1shot, and the extra blue pots helped with healing the team.

You build buff stacks doing combo finishers. Each finished you do the next combo chain to a finished will be shorter. After you get 3 stacks use your skills to super buff them.

If someone dies right before the little scene of the ship moving closer to Proto Bahamut plays, they can not mash buttons to revive faster. Just had it happen in the battle. Critcal bar keeps draining during that scene and no one can do anything.
His charge shot even at tier 5 will shoot out a tier 4 shot.

I was really expecting the bare minimum and they went all the way with this game. It's genuinely impressive it isn't totally fricked given it had a hard reboot in development. The only real critcism I think I could weigh towards it is that the island structure feels a lot better for the first two primal beasts, while everything after that is closer to being plot-heavy set-piece zones with heavy chases.
At the same time, the set-pieces are fantastic, and they really felt like they were handing me as many toys as possible letting us control the fricking mech and Bahamut because why the frick not.
Folca is also incredibly comfy. The npcs all have their own story like in trails games. For example, the 2 Erune's that spend the entire story looking for each other next to the wrong waterwheel was funny. They didn't need to do this, but the fact they went this far with complete random NPCs no one is going to interact with was just SOVL.

I don't know about omitting important information, but having played with jp voices I can confirm that it's a very loose translation. Characters will make stupid quips when the original line is more serious or to the point and sometimes it's almost entirely different.

Small campaign for a 60 buck game, and I don't give a shit about grinding to get larger numbers if there isn't any kind of narrative motivation.
25 hours for an action game isn't very short. Compare that to other action games that are usually like 8-10 hours
Are those 25 assuming you do a bunch of side-missions and/or fully explore the maps or just a regular non-completionist leisurely playthrough of the story content? Because I had read it was closer to 10-15 hours. If 20 or more is the normal expected duration and the story doesn't totally suck ass it sounds a lot more appealing.
It took me 15 hours to do the base game on Hard mode, no side quests or anything just leisurely playing through. Then it took me an additional 10 hours of co-op play to get the True ending, but it can be done singleplayer too.
I should also add that the co-op play I did (in the quest mode) included several unique bosses, and there are more afterwards too I'll be going to fight as well. I'll probably end up with over 50 hours of playtime by the end of it since I want to see all the bosses.

the pets contribute a decent chunk of ferry's dps and stun/s. it's actually better to just overcap than to lose out on their dps
because exploding the pets actually doesn't do a whole lot of damage. it's still worth it to dump them if you have a link attack or a skill to refill them instantly but it's not worth it to dump them so that you can generate more with light attacks

Crabs just give you one high attack power sigil, that's it. Which since most people are hitting damage cap feels kind of pointless to even grind for

Each weapon unlocks their own masteries for you to unlock. All of these are permanent passives, so you are encouraged/required to max out every weapon for every character if you really want all their stats and to 100% them.
maxed ascension weapons have 4000 attack, +5 damage cap, and +1 to all sigils

"hard" quest are baby mode. The game has 7 difficulties and you are on difficulty 3.
Really none of the quest are hard until you reach proud difficulty.

Recommended power going into very final fight is 17500. So other than being geared, make sure you aren't being damage capped by checking at the training dummy.
How do you check if you're damage capped?
Go to the grand cypher and hit the dummy.
Then equip a dmg cap sigil and see if that number changes.
It's annoying but it's the only way to test it.
With these two DMG Cap sigils on im still in a spot where all my hits and finishers are the same number so I guess I could eke more damage out if i work on that. Will try to get some better sigils there.

Before proud? Then the easiest would be Extreme Id or Angra. I got mine from Angra since I could kill it within 2 and a half.
I would slot in more health sigils and extra potions than damage cap to be honest. There's 2 dps check phases but they can be easily met by saving ougi. I could survive hits that would normally 1shot, and the extra blue pots helped with healing the team.

You build buff stacks doing combo finishers. Each finished you do the next combo chain to a finished will be shorter. After you get 3 stacks use your skills to super buff them.

I feel like running both buffs is a bit too much since you only have access to 4 skills so i wanna know if anyone knows which buff is better.
Use the buff that isnt named Signa Drive
If you already have another ATK buffer in your party then go for the supp. damage buff, if you don't then just take the ATK buff so everyone benefits.
Use the supplemental damage buff. Once you hit damage cap the attack buff isn't going to do anything. The supplemental damage will still work though.

If someone dies right before the little scene of the ship moving closer to Proto Bahamut plays, they can not mash buttons to revive faster. Just had it happen in the battle. Critcal bar keeps draining during that scene and no one can do anything.
