Whose a good team for Percival on point? I'm about to go into Maniac and have been using Vane, Ferry, and Cagliostro but I'm curious if there is any kind of consensus on "best in slot" characters. Ferry honestly feels kind of weak so if I replace anyone it's probably her, but she's a fan choice rather than a meta one. I liked the Dragon Knight team but the lack of any kind of healing support started to get on my nerves.

Light-light-charge heavy-charge heavy does the most damage out of the three combos. The first light-charge is just used for gap closer and the last light-light-light-charge isn't worth it much to do since the 2nd combo string does more damage. His undying skill lets you cheese a lot of fights especially once you get Potion Hoarder.

The slow stops feeling impactful after a while. gap closer I do run despite him having one innate as it hits harder.
On the contrary, Immortal Pain's not only an absurdly powerful defensive tool that combos well with various skills and sigils, it's also absolutely hilarious. However, like everything else related to Vaseraga, it requires you to have very precise timing, so you can heal the exact moment the buff vanishes. Umbral Eclipse is valuable because it lets you (and by extension, the team) play a little looser with your timing on charge attacks, but the more you boost charge speed (which you should, given how much Vas' kit revolves around charge attacks), the less you need it.
Slow is always good because you can pop it right after boss goes overdrive and give you more time before they go rampage. Which can let you link attack or start up those charge attacks for chain
It's dumb, you have to chain the big area combo with your abilities so you don't lose him

Now that the meta has been more developed, it's honestly pretty unfortunate how kneecapped support skills are in the endgame. And it's not just that it's not optimal, most of them just don't work.
For offensive buffs and debuffs, they don't do anything in matchmaking, because everyone is at their damage cap. Hypothetically, in single player or parties, you could use the buff/debuff to get another utility sigil instead of damage to hit the damage cap, but in practice, a) the game makes that very difficult to calculate b) unless the buff/debuff has 100% uptime it's still a damage loss c) hitting the damage cap is so hilarious easy on most characters that you're not getting much more breathing room anyway.
For healing, the CDs are too long, the healing isn't strong enough, and the need to aim (compared to, say, blue pots) makes the increase in survivability for the party negligible. In a game where the potions were much weaker, they would be much more valuable, but everyone slaps potion hoarder in their build somewhere.
Defensive buffs are the most useful, but in proud, outside of things like Vane's bubble, they tend to just not do enough. Especially when terminus weapons force you to be at 45k hp, it goes from "this boss will 2 shot me" to "this boss will 2 shot me".
CC is, of course, very strong. But I wouldn't really say that's the power fantasy of most player's that like support.

Same two characters for me. Id is a bit more in-depth because you can do all sorts of crazy things (refreshing Godmight after doing your damage dump combo, absolutely slaying everything around with Godmight during link time) so I stuck with him to do endgame upgrades. Can't go wrong with Sieg, but you'll need a ton of damage cap upgrades even early on.
Jin would be based because his fate episodes would be about e-girls and I would make team of him with Io, Cag and what ever e-girl gets added later. But maybe Ferry is fine too since Jin had that Grandblues about getting whipped by her

I bought versus back in feb 2020 on my chink account for PS4 before it came out in the west to play it. Fell in love with Zeta and the rest was history. I was glad as all fricked when they revealed rising, because versus was hands down the best street fighter since 3rd strike.
As a fan of the franchise, Versus/Rising its a trove of fanservice. So much love in that game, Relink too but the fighting specifically its chock full of little references everywhere.

It's faster to take an AI team into most missions until Extreme. Even then, you'll probably takes just as long to beat a mission with an AI team as it would take you to wait for a queue for it.
From my experience over mastery bonuses are pretty worthless. Getting a maxed out terminus weapon is the only real deciding factor if your character will be broken for proud missions or not.
you can get healer on any character just for using your blue pots to heal people. it's stupid as hell, they should honestly get rid of blue pots since they make healers worthless.
yeah, it's called being a healer. potion hoarder nearly eliminates an entire role in this game. it honestly needs to get nerfed if they expect players to do balanced party comps like they hyped up in all their previews.

bubble honestly isnt really worth it at high level play unless they drop it on top of bosses to squeeze out as much dps as possible during dodge phases. it's better to learn the patterns and use the slot for another skill.

So how many unique SBA combos are there? I know that the knights have unique voice lines when they activate it and I believe gran, eugen, and rackam have some unique stuff too where they shout out SOIYA.
Charge attacks are key to his fighting style. Every time he lands one, it boosts his meter, and for every meter segment he's filled, he gets a buff, gaining hyperarmor, ATK, and DEF at full meter. His unique sigil, Ebony's Poise, also gives cooldown reduction every time he lands a charged attack, further incentivizing heavier hits. Skillwise, he's got some good ones - he's got a big slow that makes it easier to land charged attacks, he's got a couple that chain into charged attacks, he's got some self-sustain, he's got some of the strongest defensives skills in the game, and one that burns health for heavy damage. Whether you want to build him as a self-sustaining tank or as an Enmity-abusing nightmare is up to you.

How strong are we talking here? Everything in this game hits like a ton of bricks so I haven't dared to try anything enmity-based so far.
Immortal Pain makes him immune to debuffs and incapable of dying. The only tradeoff is that his HP drops to 1 afterward, so you need to be precise on the timing to heal when it wears off. Netherwrath also makes him absorb all party damage while channeling, and counters with damage based on how much of a beating he takes.
Pretty much, yeah. Of course, if the whole ride-or-die approach makes you nervous, his naturally high damage does give him other options for reliably hitting the cap. Whatever your loadout, the basic principle is the same - hit things very, very hard.
I'll be on later tonight for pc. I've already finished farming every terminus weapon so i'll be down to really play anything. I'm in no rush to awaken them all anytime soon. I'll hop in any active lobbies if I see them here.
for me it was his stupid ass tiny head that kept his original face and spikey hair. I would be okay with his goofy proportions if they would have given him a cool dragon head atleast. But it's a damn shame that he gives up his sword during that phase. I love his ruthless fighting style where he just throws his body at the enemy swinging this massive slab. I also like that his combos have a mix of punches before he starts swinging his sword. He just had so many cool things going for him then visually and mechanically but then his transformation gimmick just kills so much of his character for me.
really like his transformation, but i don't like how you can convert it for a one time super attack that you could either ruin it for yourself if you dodge or block before it finishes or get easily attacked out of it by any boss.
Versalis Ignition helps for that with the built-in stout heart, but otherwise you do have to be really careful when you do it. I generally only use it on a break, link time, or chain burst since I want to stay in godmight for as long as possible.
I'm fairly certain you get a sizable damage buff on regular attacks and skills. Versalis Ignition sigil is a must because it raises your damage cap another 30% in Godmight along with the drain and stout heart bonuses so you can really go wild, especially if you have the skill that lets you refresh it.

i feel that we will be getting a new tier of difficulty that will make the terminus weapons more balanced. we also never got a real lilith fight so I can see them adding some stuff like that in the future.
Tip for slime hunters: Prismatic slimes has a chance to appear together with those big slimes. However big slimes stop appearing after reaching the 53rd slime. So if you have already reached that number and no prismatic slimes appears you can safely abandon the quest and start it again. It saves you a bunch of time especially if you’re fast at killing them.
Proto Bahamut is such a shitty boss to have to farm your weapon from. He is not a final test of skill, ability, gear, or knowledge. He is a gimmick fight that is ultimately about abusing 2x2 Burst into Link Time to try to get him down before he even really does anything. His patterns are simple and formulaic and every fight feels the same.
nimble defenses is the best dodge sigil since it heals you on every perfect dodge. it also extends your invuln time pretty massively letting you get more dps uptime without fear of death.
it gives you damage cut i believe too. it's really strong but I honestly haven't been able to slot it into any of my endgame builds since terminus weapons force you to have a maximum of 45k hp for the damage buff to work.

ok so ive never played a monster hunter game which from the reviews ive watched granblue is kind of similar, i took a leap of faith and bought the game anyway cause it looked cool and ive really enjoyed the first few hours
that being said, how does this matchmaking shit work cause i tried to matchmake the starting quests and there were no bites, i assume everyone is just so far past me that nobody is trying to matchmake the starting quests but at the same time theres like 100k people online so i figured there must be some fellow newbies doing the early quests
(i didnt want to matchmake cause i needed help i just wanted to see how it worked playing with other people for the record)

On the contrary, Immortal Pain's not only an absurdly powerful defensive tool that combos well with various skills and sigils, it's also absolutely hilarious. However, like everything else related to Vaseraga, it requires you to have very precise timing, so you can heal the exact moment the buff vanishes. Umbral Eclipse is valuable because it lets you (and by extension, the team) play a little looser with your timing on charge attacks, but the more you boost charge speed (which you should, given how much Vas' kit revolves around charge attacks), the less you need it.
Slow is always good because you can pop it right after boss goes overdrive and give you more time before they go rampage. Which can let you link attack or start up those charge attacks for chain

Now that the meta has been more developed, it's honestly pretty unfortunate how kneecapped support skills are in the endgame. And it's not just that it's not optimal, most of them just don't work.
For offensive buffs and debuffs, they don't do anything in matchmaking, because everyone is at their damage cap. Hypothetically, in single player or parties, you could use the buff/debuff to get another utility sigil instead of damage to hit the damage cap, but in practice, a) the game makes that very difficult to calculate b) unless the buff/debuff has 100% uptime it's still a damage loss c) hitting the damage cap is so hilarious easy on most characters that you're not getting much more breathing room anyway.
For healing, the CDs are too long, the healing isn't strong enough, and the need to aim (compared to, say, blue pots) makes the increase in survivability for the party negligible. In a game where the potions were much weaker, they would be much more valuable, but everyone slaps potion hoarder in their build somewhere.
Defensive buffs are the most useful, but in proud, outside of things like Vane's bubble, they tend to just not do enough. Especially when terminus weapons force you to be at 45k hp, it goes from "this boss will 2 shot me" to "this boss will 2 shot me".
CC is, of course, very strong. But I wouldn't really say that's the power fantasy of most player's that like support.

It's faster to take an AI team into most missions until Extreme. Even then, you'll probably takes just as long to beat a mission with an AI team as it would take you to wait for a queue for it.
From my experience over mastery bonuses are pretty worthless. Getting a maxed out terminus weapon is the only real deciding factor if your character will be broken for proud missions or not.

bubble honestly isnt really worth it at high level play unless they drop it on top of bosses to squeeze out as much dps as possible during dodge phases. it's better to learn the patterns and use the slot for another skill.

Charge attacks are key to his fighting style. Every time he lands one, it boosts his meter, and for every meter segment he's filled, he gets a buff, gaining hyperarmor, ATK, and DEF at full meter. His unique sigil, Ebony's Poise, also gives cooldown reduction every time he lands a charged attack, further incentivizing heavier hits. Skillwise, he's got some good ones - he's got a big slow that makes it easier to land charged attacks, he's got a couple that chain into charged attacks, he's got some self-sustain, he's got some of the strongest defensives skills in the game, and one that burns health for heavy damage. Whether you want to build him as a self-sustaining tank or as an Enmity-abusing nightmare is up to you.

How strong are we talking here? Everything in this game hits like a ton of bricks so I haven't dared to try anything enmity-based so far.
Immortal Pain makes him immune to debuffs and incapable of dying. The only tradeoff is that his HP drops to 1 afterward, so you need to be precise on the timing to heal when it wears off. Netherwrath also makes him absorb all party damage while channeling, and counters with damage based on how much of a beating he takes.

Pretty much, yeah. Of course, if the whole ride-or-die approach makes you nervous, his naturally high damage does give him other options for reliably hitting the cap. Whatever your loadout, the basic principle is the same - hit things very, very hard.

when he transformed the first time I was expecting something like a devil trigger form, was very disappointed with the bara shit they went with
for me it was his stupid ass tiny head that kept his original face and spikey hair. I would be okay with his goofy proportions if they would have given him a cool dragon head atleast. But it's a damn shame that he gives up his sword during that phase. I love his ruthless fighting style where he just throws his body at the enemy swinging this massive slab. I also like that his combos have a mix of punches before he starts swinging his sword. He just had so many cool things going for him then visually and mechanically but then his transformation gimmick just kills so much of his character for me.
really like his transformation, but i don't like how you can convert it for a one time super attack that you could either ruin it for yourself if you dodge or block before it finishes or get easily attacked out of it by any boss.
Versalis Ignition helps for that with the built-in stout heart, but otherwise you do have to be really careful when you do it. I generally only use it on a break, link time, or chain burst since I want to stay in godmight for as long as possible.
What other bonuses does Godmight give you besides access to that ludicrous combo?

I'm fairly certain you get a sizable damage buff on regular attacks and skills. Versalis Ignition sigil is a must because it raises your damage cap another 30% in Godmight along with the drain and stout heart bonuses so you can really go wild, especially if you have the skill that lets you refresh it.

Tip for slime hunters: Prismatic slimes has a chance to appear together with those big slimes. However big slimes stop appearing after reaching the 53rd slime. So if you have already reached that number and no prismatic slimes appears you can safely abandon the quest and start it again. It saves you a bunch of time especially if you’re fast at killing them.
Proto Bahamut is such a shitty boss to have to farm your weapon from. He is not a final test of skill, ability, gear, or knowledge. He is a gimmick fight that is ultimately about abusing 2x2 Burst into Link Time to try to get him down before he even really does anything. His patterns are simple and formulaic and every fight feels the same.
nimble defenses is the best dodge sigil since it heals you on every perfect dodge. it also extends your invuln time pretty massively letting you get more dps uptime without fear of death.
is stun power even good, almost like i wanna delay stunning bahamut so we get more dps time

it gives you damage cut i believe too. it's really strong but I honestly haven't been able to slot it into any of my endgame builds since terminus weapons force you to have a maximum of 45k hp for the damage buff to work.

you cant, as a matter of fact invul, be it katalinas, or vanes, fricks up with counters like zeta's and ghan's because you arent taking damage
