You could easily come up with a tank build in this game with threat increases and defense buffs. Most people go the dps route because seeing big numbers = fun.
Damage too high on Proud and self heals not enough unless you do some dumb bullshit like infinite invincibility on Dual Sword man.
You're not supposed to face tank everything, you still have to dodge. It's more about taking aggro so dumbfrick teammates dont get hit so often.
Pretty much all the dangerous attacks are AoE spam which covers the whole battle arena. Tanking isn't gonna help shitters to survive any longer.
Relink would be dramatically improved if there were any mechanics like that but it's just 4p souls dodging with fisher price combat on almost every character

So, I've been wondering. People focus on Zeta's pogo jumping, since it's her bread and butter offensive mechanic. But I think her parry might be overlooked a bit. I haven't played her much myself yet, since I'm still building her Terminus weapon. But just how much can Zeta get away with? What CAN'T she parry?

Scrub here. I just beat the story. What do I do now? What do I need to grind and max out? Where do I get the best weapons for each character?
If you finished Chapter 0 then just complete things until you get to Proud.
I mean like I'm completely lost here I'm just doing random quests but how do I get high lv and strong enough to kill bosses at 5000 pwr? i'm not sure what I should focus on
You should passively get to level 100 or at least very close to it just by normally progressing to proud.
Just throw on whatever your highest level attack and defense sigils are and swap them out if you get upgrades, there’s no point grinding that shit until proud when the highest tier of them drops.
Pick a weapon and level it up whenever possible.
I dunno, it’s not complicated and you don’t have to worry about min/maxing until endgame.

The best weapon for each character prior to the ones dropped by the very final boss is a fully awakened ascension weapon.
Just know awakening it costs a lot of resources that are annoying to farm for that you may want to just save for awakening the final boss weapon instead.

You might think that because you haven't played other characters much. With proper sigils and whatnot tho Siegfried is in the bottom 20% of DPS. He has laughably low dmg caps

youll notice you hit the same number all the time with say your X attack. that means youre at cap. you can know for sure you hit it if you see a yellow flash over the number, its kinda hard to see sometimes because i think theres a light blue one for critting but youll see it
Late game his damage is very meh unless you really, really invest into him. I personally like him and use him as a secondary (while Cags is my main). He has a lot of nice tools like his Y and Uwe is pretty much makes sure you're always near the enemy. Also his projectile skill (forgot the name) has a fricking massive stun/link bar increase. He's comfy to play, especially when I'm tired chasing MVP and mashing button with Cags.

I've tried narmaya too, and she's super fun as well. It really clicked once I started figuring out her loops and combo shortcuts. I tried percival and didn't really like him, but that might have just been a bad first impression. I don't mind unlocking more characters to try out, but I'd heard that the more characters you have, the bigger your weapon pool is later on. That's probably not relevant to me right now, though.
Both Narm and Percy are much better characters than Siegfried at end game, but again just play who you enjoy the most.
Options to consider if you enjoy Siegfried's gameplay are Zeta and the big bara monk guy whos name starts with a G, as they use a similar timing mechanic.
Once you get to endgame, the final boss fight drops what is called a "Terminus Weapon" which is a BIS for every single character. It is a chase weapon that requires multiple kills typically to even see one drop, and it can drop for any of your unlocked characters. It is recommended to keep your roster low until you have the Terminus for the characters you want to play the most, then unlock more characters as you collect weapons

Honestly as long as you can help passing dps checks on later bosses, you'll be fine. It's not hard. Meanwhile there are fights later with multiple bosses that most definitely gonna be chaotic as frick. You see all the time people using top tier characters just dying repeatedly there. So the most important thing in those mission is to survive while chipping down the enemy's health periodically.

Siegfried has some good support buffs. If you are playing with friends having access to a 70% team def boost goes a long way.

play whoever you like though, none of the content is so strictly challenging to where low dps is a hindrance.
the game does a horrible job explaining it (they dont at all actually), but generally you will want enough damage cap sigils to hit trait level 65 regardless of which character you're using, especially when using a terminus weapon
Honestly don't worry too much about who's optimal (its rackam doing his braindead jump attack spam), just play whoever you find most fun.
But it's worth limiting to just 1 or maybe two because the cost of keeping multiple characters up to scratch to keep up with the difficulty curve is too high unless you grind autistically.

It is technically possible to get crit 10, 7 dmg cap and 5 dmg cap wrightstone. It's basically the perfect stone. But the odds are so low it may well be impossible.
And yes he's already admitted he cheated all that shit in, including the 3 supp V+s.
I have hundreds of wrightstones and I haven't seen two extra skills that are the same in there. But if it's possible then I guess it's okay then.
I have crit 9 one with duplicated uplift, and I've seen legit ones with the double dmg cap but not crit 10.
But I don't think I've ever seen legit "perfect" stone, you can pretty safely assume anyone with those, or multiple V+ supp sigils are cheated in.

Yeah. If you want an easy time use percival. You can charge his triangle/Y attack and run through his leg, as you pass under his taint let go and it will hit the tail 100% of the time

Sell sigils, you get far more junk ones of those you'll have to paw through than treasure items.

Between the Very Hard Infernadile and the triple Dile mission which is the better afk farm? The single Infernadile takes seconds but the triple Dile takes 5 minutes but can also drop a silver centrum.

anon he's not overtuned at all, he's your gateway into the final difficulty. if you were coasting the whole time, he's basically the "frick you, hope you know your character and basic mechanics" check. there are a few fights in Proud that will kick your ass even harder than that fight
people are soloing him in ~6-8 minutes with endgame gear. as in, true soloing without any party members

Yes, that's the most important stat in the game. Maxed out Terminus weapon and four level V damage cap sigils get you there.

I'm in chapter 9 and I've never played the main character until I was forced to in the previous chapter. I feel like he's incredibly underwhelming. Is there a bread and butter for him? Any particular offensive skills? His support skills are awesome, but I'm not sure what to take for damage.

OD Surge is good for its high stun
At this point of the game you don't really need the debuffs from Rain of Arrows or Armor Break unless you're still pretty weak or no one else is taking any debuffs and you need them, but that being said Armor Break has tracking and can act as a gap closer so it's kinda nice to have.
OD surge + Decimate is nice since the C/Ds match up and you really want to avoid only being able to use 1 skill before arts resets. Reginlev is pretty good for link time since you can spam it like crazy and under optimal conditions you hit arts 4 just as it comes back off c/d. Actually captain with some sigils can just spam all the damage moves during link time with virtually zero pause. I think someone tested it and the full ground combo finisher, air finisher and link time follow up all give you the fastest charge for power charge so you can do something like ground launcher combo(to gap close) -> air combo -> full power charge to get arts 4 and deal decent damage.
Cygames refuses to put Silva or even Kukuru in any of their 3d games and thus shouldn't be supported.

It happened to me before. I keep a manual save now but forgot to update it this time because I had to leave for something. Make a point to go into AppDataLocalGBFR to get your SaveData.dat and make a copy yourself, just for security.
gonna do it tomorrow, this shit scares me.

Funny enough the game keeps a backup now because this issue happens enough that cygames patched it in but the backup seems to get corrupted the exact same way as the original, either through the auto save or Steam Cloud.

Both of those finishers are multi-hit attacks with high cap, which you're unlikely to reach without charging. Obviously, if the enemy moves away before you end charging, then it's better to let go an uncharged attack than to whiff entirely.
There's three level charges, first is shit never use it unless you want to use it as a gape closer.
the second one is the most powerful since it has better cap, but it cannot be used after skill
the third one can be used after link attacks, the gap closer skill and the stun skill.
If you want to play fair without using bugs, you can attack > dodge > attack > dodge and you'll get the second level fast, this is good if for positioning and evading enemies attack while retaining some sort of utility.
If you want to REALLY exploit the game, you can cancel your stun skill with a stun and it'll give you a lvl 3 charge attack with no downside since you skill doesn't go on cooldown.
Recommended skills are immortal Pain, Battalions of Fear, The stun damage skill and the 4th is a flex, slow is good for most fights but not good on proto bahamut.
for sigils, quick charge is a must and his signature sigil, after that its the usual dps stuff.

yes, It makes you immortal and immune to any debuff, so ideally you use it when you know you are going to get hit/loss dps.
With cascade + vaseraga signature sigil its easy to maintain a good uptime.
If you abuse the stun skill > dodge > Y charge you can have a very good uptime, close to permanent with cascade.

That's not possible.
You can only hit the same numbers if you're already at the cap. But if you were at the cap before, then the numbers should've changed after slotting another damage cap.

Yordha, Perci, Vaseraga, and Charlotta can all parry.
More or less everyone has some parry move or skill. Zeta, for example, has her unique attack button dedicated entirely to a parry. However, I wouldn't call Zeta a parry character per se.
There's a few characters who have parry skills actually. Zeta, Charlotte, Yodarha, Vaseraga, Siege, probably missing another one.
Vane has guard point on some of his moves so you can pretend that you're playing Vindictus instead.
It's not just guard points, like the parry at the start of other characters' charged attacks. Vane's entire heavy attack animation chain has block property.

Ranged AI seems to be exceptionally good at dodging. Oigen gets Unscathed every quest, while I can see the melee characters tanking hits during bloodthirst.

Bros, you should buy 5 Fire Shards and 5 Earth Shards instead, then trade them to the infinite quest in Folca that gives you 1 Fortitude Crystal L, 3 Fortitude Crystals M, and 700 Mastery Points. Each Shard costs 3 Rafale coins so 3x5x2 = 30, same as one Fortitude L. The only thing is you need to also give Siero some super common mats (I forget which ones but it's worth)

But I didn't realize Relink's encounter design is THAT Japanese as to stop the timer during the "run around like headless chicken focusing entirely on dodging the boss' super attack" phase. A ton of Japanese games seem to include those, but Relink is the only I know to have high enough QoL to stop the timer.
Bloodthirst is essentially an invuln phase so it would be really gay if you got pushed out of the time-based challenges

No he doesn't. You can do that, sure. And it is beneficial. But he's still powerful as frick without it. To the point where I'd argue he's one of, if not the most heavy damaging character.
You can also apparently keep up his Death Buff permanently with maxed out Supplementary Damage, but I'm pretty sure that's a glitch / oversight and will be patched in time if Cygames decide to continue to support relink.
Vas' cooldown reduction is absolutely not a glitch, just a miscalculation on devs' part. Zeta's two hit loop Arvess Hammer? - that's a glitch.

Cascade efficacy scales inversely with attack speed.
It's not a fixed percentage of cooldown reduction per hit.
The idea is that it should be equally effective on all characters regardless of attack speed, but in practice, it's much worse than Charlotte's unique trait that reduces CDs by .5% per hit in noble stance.
If you can stack both, however, it's good synergy.
cag has the same issue as charlotta, her character sigil has an actually good version of cascade already too. So on top of it being generally shitty with fast attacks, putting a normal cascade sigil on is barely noticeable.
Got Siegfried's Terminus to max, at 65 damage uncap, and pretty disappointed with his damage still. I'm not sure why they gave his big combo finisher such a low cap. The investment for a single character was so high, I'm not sure I want to repeat this journey with another.
The thing about Siegfried is that while his damage caps are pretty low, it means you can stack into a bunch of other sigils. Get some QoL shit like Cascade and CD reduction, some tanking shit with Steel Nerves. Get Guts and Auto Revive or a bunch of Healing Cap, Potion Hoarder and Drain
Then you can spam your buff and debuff skills, which is insanely helpful during fricked up situations.
I like having a good Siegfried online. The constant defense down and defense up buffs are nice and they will almost never die themselves.

White dragon is fricking easy though compared to the Black person dragon. How do you even job to it? And as for debuff res - there are adds in the arena that leave throwable orbs. Those can be used to dispel buffs from it.

The only thing I found annoying with the black dragon is when he does the forward giant laser beam attack.
If you play melee and lock onto his head to try to get part break, you end up walking into the laser from you combo and commit soduku.
I hope they tweak some of the dmg caps in the next update, some of the skills makes no sense having like 500% dmg ratio but only a 200% dmg cap. Others have very low dmg ratio but insanely high caps for some reason.

Charlotta's damage is frontloaded into the combo finisher. Don't stand there just mashing X for infinite basic combo. Once your sword starts glowing, you're supposed to do a an X finisher. Then chain into a damaging skill into another finisher. Basically only keep the basic combo up if your skills are on c/d.

nah, ghanda's only real issue is that a lot of his damage is backloaded into linktime
you're not always going to trigger linktime in an endgame farming party where bosses are getting melted before it can proc, but that's only for overgeared hyper min-max shit. he's pretty good otherwise, as long as you learn how to play him

The game really only has 2 bosses that are sort of standing/flying behind an invisible wall and you fight it on a platform sort of thing. The lava guy and proto bahamut. Both suck a bit for Zeta but proto bahamut is still acceptable levels of suck, it's just the lava guy that is a complete disaster.
