How exactly do you fail a quest from excessive critical states? Is there a number? Several times I've ended up getting absolutely murked in bad parties in proud but I don't understand what triggers the failure.

the gauge drains when you are down if it's empty it fails. If one moron isn't mashing to revive he can drain half the gauge with one life.
Whenever anybody is down, the bar depletes. The more people down, the faster it goes. Eventually it runs out and it's fission mailed.

i never got it from a quest but i've found 2 or 3 from curios. You are probably better off farming slimes or just doing afk runs for slimes since you don't actually need to do anything to get rewards which has a high chance of giving a curio for a run.

Fireball stuns enemies up close, while the Ice spell has I-frames and both cause Quick Charge + a Mystic Vortex point. Her white spells are a meme, don't use them.

How bad is the endgame with randoms and how bad is the grind? Is it going to be a second job just like the gacha?
I've been moving through endgame solo with katalina, most of the fights so far take usually 2-3 attempts for me to get a win. My next one is the light dragon which I know is a huge skill check though, but previous warned checks weren't too bad. A tip for the future is if you are playing a tanky character and it's a stage with multiple bosses, pull one of them to a corner and just keep it busy while the other three party members take care of the rest. Biggest issue is so much bullshit going on endgame so crowd control is actually massive.
Yeah but how many times do you need to spam the same fight to get upgrade mats and stuff? I used to play the gacha a few years ago so I'm wary of cygames and 0.1% drop rates.
You can spam quick quests which is basically just joining random quests people are doing for tokens to exchange for upgrade mats to keep the repetition down, but it seems like it's not so bad to get a single character to fully awaken the second best weapon. I'm one away from completing it and I really didn't grind much at all, definitely less than 20 fights for anything. Maybe grinding for the best weapon is bad but I haven't done it yet.
The game is designed for salarymen and 40 year old fujos anon. You can literally turn on Full Assist mode and have your AI farm resources for you for an hour on repeat while you AFK.

When playing as Id in the story, he kinda just comments about how he was in the past and hopes to avoid going down that path again. Pretty sure he also has unique dialogue with Lilith

Astrals once fought those guys you know? Bubs fought them a lot before Belial was a c**t and let him get backstabbed by one, all so that Bubs had to take part in Faa's experiment to let him stuff primal cores inside him. Sariel also worked a lot on killing Othergays. I think Lilith is dead but she shouldnt have hard time fighting them with her powers
It's GBF tradition to have a character that is introduced during an event, that by all means should be playable, and sometimes even have a sprite ready, but for lore reasons only gets added a year or two later.

Kat gaming is getting full ares meter and then super armoring through everything because you're now stuck in an infinite loop of attack skill to mashing heavy to skill to mashing heavy until the boss does a cutscene to stop you from hitting it for a minute.
The gacha can have up to 30 people on the same fight and it's a fricking clunky web browser / mobage based with one of the worst UIs I've ever seen. It's most likely more a technicality than anything.
All supp damage scales off a percentage of the original hit, so it still works for io, it's just going to be less consistent due to the lower amount of hits

Do you use Flower or is it a meme? I heard once you hit damage cap you're better off not even charging it.
I appreciate them adding a training dummy with a lot of options but it gives people the wrong impressions on characters. The introduction of dps meters or actual damage done at the end of fights would mind break this games community.
because dps uptime along with how long it actually takes to setup optimal rotations is a concern in real fights which the training dummy doesn't have to worry about. It's especially bad with characters like Narmaya where you need a lot of setup for max damage bursts which is very difficult to pull off in real fights. It's one of the reasons why characters like Charlotta and Lancelot are super strong because they don't really have rotations. They just have to get in and flurry.

Shortly before this pretty much everyone from his crew had sacrificed themselves one way or another to get him and Fenrir there and, due to extremely forced and abrupt twists pulled out of Cygames' ass, turns out Fenrir is the ultimate primal created to slay the gods, which the Underworld had become.
Loki unbinds Fenrir which overloads her and lets her win the fight, but she and randomly Catalina die (as well as like 90% of the cast off screen)
Some moping after, Loki and Noa rejoin the crew and devise a way to use Danchou's meme reality bending powers to immediately reach Estalucia and revive everyone hopefully.

I always was confused about the Skyrealm/ Astral Realm/ Crimson Horizon, could I have the QRD on that again? From what I remember, the Crimzon Horizon was the old world that Bahamut couldn't uplift before he went on holiday.
To put simply, there was a world. Bahamut didn't care for what was in it so he Skyfall'd it. He made the Sky Realm out of the salvage, and the Crimson Horizon is the wasteland left behind.
Eventually Bahamut became a schizo and split in two, and the second Bahamut went and made his own realm with blackjack and hookers somewhere in the stars.

These are somewhat related. Just like all astrals Faa was created by Astral Bahamut. Faa always felt incomplete and then made Lucifer as the perfect image of himself. He got all instructions on how to make primals from Bahamut through his dreams. It was all planned by Bahamut since he needed primals for his big plan. But then when Faa found out that all of his creations, research and achievements and whole skyrealm was actually orchastraded by some big lizard he wanted to destroy it all as a big middle finger since he is big on freedom and there is no freedom if things are predetermined
Okay so. Bahamut's thing is rebirth and destruction. He breaks things so he can rebuild them later. But he's lazy, and likes recycling parts and designs from previous works to make the rebirth part easier.
Previous world had a dude named Sahar, who was one of the few that were spared when that world ended. Bahamut recycled his image in the current world to create Lucilius. Then Lucilius started trying to imitate Bahamut, and created his own clone in his own image. That's Lucifer, a clone of a clone. Then Sahar got bored and started going around in a false identity, which is Lucio.
Eventually Lucilius thought he was so important and dangerous Bahamut had to resort to making a clone of him to stop him, but then he found out Bahamut's been gone for ages and he's the clone of Lucio / Sahar not the other way around. This caused him to have a screaming meltie and Gran to banish him into the shadow realm.

The most needed farm for the entire game. Gives you Azurite's Splendors via prism slimes that let you max out a sigil w/o any other materials. Otherwise a shit ton of Gold/MSR with a few Fortitude Crystal (L)'s, Vouchers, and a Curio for good measure. Impossible to AFK grind though as the AI only attacks the slimes after being hit once.

I assume we're meant to destroy all the crystals and shit he spawns, because I was trying but the rackams seemed more interested in just shooting bahamut so I'm not sure. Crystals seems super tanky near the end too as well
when he summons the golden circles, they appear on both sides of the ship, your party needs to split up and shoot all 4 down (2 on each side). failing to do this will encase all the crystals in a shield that makes you do grey damage and makes it very difficult to break them
Do the AIs not do this? I see them pop over to the guns sometimes, but every time I get to the shield part, all of the crystals have the shield. We end up breaking them every time, but still.

No. Yellow is damage with elemental advantage. Blue is all other damage. But I've heard there's some sort of white flash on them, compared to regular blue numbers. But I can't really see the difference.

i never got it from a quest but i've found 2 or 3 from curios. You are probably better off farming slimes or just doing afk runs for slimes since you don't actually need to do anything to get rewards which has a high chance of giving a curio for a run.

Fireball stuns enemies up close, while the Ice spell has I-frames and both cause Quick Charge + a Mystic Vortex point. Her white spells are a meme, don't use them.

I've been moving through endgame solo with katalina, most of the fights so far take usually 2-3 attempts for me to get a win. My next one is the light dragon which I know is a huge skill check though, but previous warned checks weren't too bad. A tip for the future is if you are playing a tanky character and it's a stage with multiple bosses, pull one of them to a corner and just keep it busy while the other three party members take care of the rest. Biggest issue is so much bullshit going on endgame so crowd control is actually massive.
Yeah but how many times do you need to spam the same fight to get upgrade mats and stuff? I used to play the gacha a few years ago so I'm wary of cygames and 0.1% drop rates.
You can spam quick quests which is basically just joining random quests people are doing for tokens to exchange for upgrade mats to keep the repetition down, but it seems like it's not so bad to get a single character to fully awaken the second best weapon. I'm one away from completing it and I really didn't grind much at all, definitely less than 20 fights for anything. Maybe grinding for the best weapon is bad but I haven't done it yet.
The game is designed for salarymen and 40 year old fujos anon. You can literally turn on Full Assist mode and have your AI farm resources for you for an hour on repeat while you AFK.

if you need to ask that, then you're moronic
because dps uptime along with how long it actually takes to setup optimal rotations is a concern in real fights which the training dummy doesn't have to worry about. It's especially bad with characters like Narmaya where you need a lot of setup for max damage bursts which is very difficult to pull off in real fights. It's one of the reasons why characters like Charlotta and Lancelot are super strong because they don't really have rotations. They just have to get in and flurry.
the only relevant fight in the game is proto bahamut and you can setup easily there
tbh a good Narmaya can get close to those rotations since charged parry is a thing, but it's still incredibly unlikely

The main filter is the Proud rank-up quest, but even then you might luck out because a lot of people are at endgame and farming them with OP gear.
Extreme is when you need to start paying attention to mechanics. Maniac is when you need to make a build. Proud is when you need to git gud or just grind.
Never, there's maybe about three "difficult" fights. Apparently match making struggles with a lot of fights on proud/maniac though.

After making a crew of his own with all the minor side bad guys from the MSQ and then doing nothing with it (cuz cut content) he eventually shows up to help the crew during the last assault of the Underworld.
Shortly before this pretty much everyone from his crew had sacrificed themselves one way or another to get him and Fenrir there and, due to extremely forced and abrupt twists pulled out of Cygames' ass, turns out Fenrir is the ultimate primal created to slay the gods, which the Underworld had become.
Loki unbinds Fenrir which overloads her and lets her win the fight, but she and randomly Catalina die (as well as like 90% of the cast off screen)
Some moping after, Loki and Noa rejoin the crew and devise a way to use Danchou's meme reality bending powers to immediately reach Estalucia and revive everyone hopefully.

I always was confused about the Skyrealm/ Astral Realm/ Crimson Horizon, could I have the QRD on that again? From what I remember, the Crimzon Horizon was the old world that Bahamut couldn't uplift before he went on holiday.
You've basically got it. The sky / astral divide is just the parts the two halves of Bahamut, sky god and astral god, rule over.
To put simply, there was a world. Bahamut didn't care for what was in it so he Skyfall'd it. He made the Sky Realm out of the salvage, and the Crimson Horizon is the wasteland left behind.
Eventually Bahamut became a schizo and split in two, and the second Bahamut went and made his own realm with blackjack and hookers somewhere in the stars.
Because Lucifer is the popular one and Sahar is kind of forgotten by everyone.

But then when Faa found out that all of his creations, research and achievements and whole skyrealm was actually orchastraded by some big lizard he wanted to destroy it all as a big middle finger since he is big on freedom and there is no freedom if things are predetermined

Okay so. Bahamut's thing is rebirth and destruction. He breaks things so he can rebuild them later. But he's lazy, and likes recycling parts and designs from previous works to make the rebirth part easier.
Previous world had a dude named Sahar, who was one of the few that were spared when that world ended. Bahamut recycled his image in the current world to create Lucilius. Then Lucilius started trying to imitate Bahamut, and created his own clone in his own image. That's Lucifer, a clone of a clone. Then Sahar got bored and started going around in a false identity, which is Lucio.
Eventually Lucilius thought he was so important and dangerous Bahamut had to resort to making a clone of him to stop him, but then he found out Bahamut's been gone for ages and he's the clone of Lucio / Sahar not the other way around. This caused him to have a screaming meltie and Gran to banish him into the shadow realm.

The most needed farm for the entire game. Gives you Azurite's Splendors via prism slimes that let you max out a sigil w/o any other materials. Otherwise a shit ton of Gold/MSR with a few Fortitude Crystal (L)'s, Vouchers, and a Curio for good measure. Impossible to AFK grind though as the AI only attacks the slimes after being hit once.

when he summons the golden circles, they appear on both sides of the ship, your party needs to split up and shoot all 4 down (2 on each side). failing to do this will encase all the crystals in a shield that makes you do grey damage and makes it very difficult to break them

There's damage variance in the game. If you do the same damage on the same attack all the time then it's capped.
You know the difference between critical hits and non-crits, right? One is cleary bigger than the other.
As said, when you cap damage, the numbers briefly flash yellow when they appear, but they still remain their usual blue color instead of yellow with elemental advantage/war elemental.
It's very subtle because criticals briefly flash white.
