Not the guy you're replying to, but I have noticed in general that commendations are very unreliable as a metric for how "good" and useful you are. For example when I play Vane and I use his bubble shield, it massively, unbelievably inflates my honors, even if I'm not fulfilling any practical purpose at the moment. Healing and any sort of support skill including damage boosting buffs that're mostly useless thanks to damage cap and defense up even if nobody gets hit will inflate you way past a pure damage character even if you are in practice fractionally useful.
Setting aside my observations of the honors scoring system, you really just sound like an annoying homosexual when you say "I mogged this party so hard not even my main". It sounds like adolescent Xbox live chatter even if you really had outperformed those 3 people as much as the honors system has made you think you did.

12 with two actual quest sections. Most of which become a joke if you overleveled too much, only Io's requires pure skill because you have to solo a Goblin boss and his adds.

I dunno it feels like as long as you can pull the attention of one or the other(probably mags since she's less likely to one-shot you) the ai can indefinitely tank the other. Gearing the AI is another matter though
You aren't just grabbing the attention of Mag in that fight. She will attack everyone regardless, so it's just focusing on gallanza to kill him as fast as possible. AI is worse than people here since you can't just tell them who to attack, and if you let them use SBA on their own, they will fricking waste it on Mag for some reason.
Well, it's not like the game tells you shit about post game. And it's a fricking cake walk leading up to Proud including the first set of battles so.... not really that surprising
PS5 gives you a gacha code you can sell for free PS+, it's Dualsense is optimally tweaked for the game, has the majority of the playerbase and has no cheaters.
You get capped pretty easily when you get near 100, if you're seeing the same numbers come up repeatedly you're capped. Throw down some damage cap sigils and practice on the dummy to see.
Here's a tip for playing Charlotta: as you do her infinite slashing attack make sure you're shouting "ORAORAORAORAORAORA" and a hidden 20% damage modifier will be applied to each attack.

All cap-up stopped way earlier, around 20%, from there you had to specialize in normal attack cap up, SBA cap up, Skill up depending on the character or your preferred playstyle. Yes, those are here too but get sidelined by the huge all cap-up mod.
i was so excited for this game, but it does not live up to expectations. this feels like a tales of game in quality, not a 7 year project.
i'm on chapter 5 its short as frick, not that interesting and so far there aren't any new combo unlocks. the combat is stiff and slow. locking on to enemies and switching lock ons is a pain in the dick. and if you're locked onto an enemy and then there is a link attack, you begin trying to attack the locked on enemy thats far away. there isn't any new movement options? everyone feels slow, stiff. it's literally .hack GU tier. like what the frick. the fate episodes are fricking stupid. i really tried to listen to them a few times, but then i just ended up skipping everything immediately because it is so boring. it's just pointless dialogue. is there anything good about this game or is it one of those games that "gets good" after however many hours?
Chapter 6 is pretty kino. You should also use your crew card to try out a new character (alt + f4 if you dont like them while testing them in the tutorial section). I haven't really played any other characters besides Yoda and Gran so if you feel the characters are slow try out Yoda (old midget), he's pretty fast and fluid. Or just drop the game, whatever.
i don't recommend Alt+F4ing in the demo, i permanently lost a crewmate card like that, the game rollbacked me to town when a story cutscene happened and i was missing 1 card and didnt have the character i was demoing
I did it once with other people, but since anyone online in Proud is completely geared out, they just destroyed it in 3 minutes without my help and I learned nothing. Tried it with CPU companions and just got repeatedly wiped by god knows what. Guess I'm stuck in mastery point farming hell for another 20 hours, AGAIN.
Is there a point to maxing crit if you are hitting cap? I see people talk about maxing crit but I don't understand why with the dmg cap. Does critting increase cap or something? Or some other hidden reason like a build that gives cd for every crit or some shit?
It's just maths, if you crit almost all the time then it might be worth using less attack sigils in exchange for more damage cap if your cap is making you lose more damage.
if you want to help people out just queue for the gatekeep fights in proud.
since there's no way to randomly queue into them the only people searching for them are people that are stuck on the fight.

charge shot IS his highest damage output but rapid fire doesn't require good timing and deals close enough damage. some targets aren't big enough to be hit by all 3 hits of his charged shot.
get his attack speed sigil and max out quick charge, get the usual damage caps, crit chance cap, various damage up types.
get 3 pets out, then launch attack -> jump finisher and just repeat until shit is dead. It's probably not better than playing ferry normally on big bosses but on swarm missions its fun as shit

Actually hitting the damage cap will depend on your attack stat and the enemy's defense.
Just with a maxed out mastery tree, and a 150 weapon, you'll need a significant amount of Damage Cap levels before you'll really need attack buff sigils.

It's a game where the outcome of the mission depends on you and you have real teammates who are also putting their time in your hands. It's common courtesy to try your best, dipshit.
Try your best but you dont need to go outside the game nad watch a fricking YT vid or read a guild to do it. Nobody cares anyway. You just learn as you play, you only need to die 3-5 times to a mechanic in a mission to know the entire mechs.
You'll want to upgrade them all to 150 anyway for Mastery Bonuses, but the Crit weapon is a good choice that'll last you into the end of Proud. Use the wishlist feature for materials, but you simply might not have the quests for the materials you need unlocked yet.
The Defender weapons are also a good choice to prioritize since the HP will help a lot.

MMO tryhards are really desperate to ruin this game with their spreadsheet dps when nothing in this game is even as remotely as difficult as actual mmo boss fights. This game has some similarities with raid bosses but overall the game is still very easy. There's maybe only 4 or 5 missions that can be considered somewhat difficult and that's because this game rarely ever forced the player to learn how to block or be defensive so you always get one shitter that drains the critical meter making you lose every time.
this game rarely has any instant death failure mechanics, i think the only ones are the bahamut fights where you get forced dps phases. mmos are a lot more punishing with their fights where if you miss even a single mechanic its an instant group wipe. this game has fights where even if you fail boss mechanics you can still either just block the attack or survive through it.
i like relink a lot but i'm not going to be delusional about how forgiving and overall easy the current fights are.

I remember destiny took people days to learn the mechanics of the raids but its because the mechanics have to be figured out.
ESO for example, well you gotta figure out mechanics sure but objectives are told to the player.
Worse thing about ESO other than MMO elitism is that I play on console so by the time the raid drops its been out on PC 2 weeks and people expect you to know the mechs on your first fricking try.

Anyway we all know the combat is shit in that game, its no worse than cooldown with 100 skills but I dont really play an MMO for engaging combat, I play a game like GBR for that.
I played ESO for the TES lore and now I am kind of committed to it.
I play it as a check-list of shit to do now, though I have basically stopped dungeon running, doing raids or any sort of coordinated group content as I cant be fricked to have to communicate with people.
Will probably get back into dungeons at some point but only with PUGs.

Well the first they mentioned of it was quite close to when it was found out and had became the thing you "had to" do.
They said its an engine bug, unable to be rectified.
Then years later they reinvented the game, made the overworld actually more casual friendly, too casual imo where virtually nothing is hard outside of group content.
Then they started adding tooltips for it and eventually put it in a remodelled tutorial.
It is hilarious, they turn a bug into a feature, a feature that makes the game shit too.
Still those of us from the older days remember it what it is, a bug.

mechanics are very tight and it takes hours until a group is fully in sync and knows what to do. it takes a lot of training on each boss to learn the mechanics and be confident in your dps. nearly every boss has mechanics that can wipe you at any % so it's mentally exhausting when you've been at it for hours.

Sell the 1 and 2 traits, keep the 3 traits (as why would you use only 1 or 2 when you can get 3 traits) and then you can cater them to specific builds.
There is no point on selling the 3 traits. Some builds might need them later.

The Evokers are a character set associated with the Arcarum game mode in the gacha. Free to recruit but a massive timegated grind to do so. Each one has an associated arcana summon they use to fight.
Magicians who wield tarot cards and made pacts with demons basically. Usually more of the fricked up individuals out there, Nier murdered thousands of her "boyfriends" after being rejected by her family and Fraux genocided an entire village after being raped.

I like Monster Hunter a lot more, but this actually is up there just in terms of a satisfying action, boss fighting, grinding game. I wish that it had more equipment or things to shoot for, and that it had a greater variety of enemies, but considering I went in with 0 expectations I actually ended up liking it way more than I thought I would. They did a good job and I am glad that it is successful. I hope there is DLC/Expansions because the game definitely needs more end game, and that isn't even counting being a poopsocker. The game lacks the sort of definitive end game boss to throw a build against. The final Baphomet is a joke and the hardest boss fight is probably Spear Boy + Bubble Girl on Proud, and that is just a story boss with some extra HP. I do appreciate the God-Robot thing and the Black/White dragons at least, those were a nice surprise to find new bosses on Proud.

We don't really know yet, though some of the script kiddies using cheat engine for their sigils found pic related.
He'll probably give a weapon too, but realistically I'm expecting his fight to be where we would get stuff like Supplemental Damage V.
You get all the cards from normal play. One that sucks is the one that takes 7 gold dahlias to buy because you can't guarantee golds solo, so it's like 25 shit missions.
healing is worthless in this game once you get potion hoarder. that buff really doesn't do anything at endgame either since everybody is already running around with 100% crit and are at the damage cap. the only semi useful thing cags has is she can perma an armor debuff, but again that's worthless when people are already at damage cap.
At the (current) endgame where everyone is damage and crit capped, and oneshots/potion hoarder are the norm, Cag's niche is muted.
Same goes for her otherwise great def debuff sigil.

Always try to stay in proud stance. That means never using your finisher or holy ladder without one of the other two skills off cooldown to go back into proud stance. You can dodge to keep proud stance up for repositioning in smaller distances.

So after doing some testing armor debuffing for endgame is pointless since everybody is already hitting damage cap. attack debuffs are pretty useful though since people don't know how to block or dodge.

No those bonuses are permanent for the character, so you do want to uncap and level every weapon a chracter has to 150

sigils are like an an armor slot
wrightstones are equipped to the weapon and you overwrite them when you want to equip a new one, destroying the old one in the process. you get a LOT of wrightstones later but early on you should stick them on weapons you're actually using.

i feel like too many people are focused solely on maxing out damage and neglecting combos like Stout Heart + Drain which turns you into a wall
I wish I could enjoy playing as Io. Ranged characters are pretty boring and it gets even worse when she had a dumb charging gimmick for all of her damage. I typically stay away from ranged casters in tales games as well, they just feel like an after thought.

Relink is a great game for actual action jrpg enthusiasts. It has some of the best combat and controls that the genre has ever seen. The boss variety is also pretty damn fun. The action jrpg genre is mostly dead and this game is a breath of fresh air.

You aren't just grabbing the attention of Mag in that fight. She will attack everyone regardless, so it's just focusing on gallanza to kill him as fast as possible. AI is worse than people here since you can't just tell them who to attack, and if you let them use SBA on their own, they will fricking waste it on Mag for some reason.

You know you're capped when all of your attacks are dealing the same amount. You uncap it with sigils. You need about 60-65 levels of it.
You get capped pretty easily when you get near 100, if you're seeing the same numbers come up repeatedly you're capped. Throw down some damage cap sigils and practice on the dummy to see.

i'm on chapter 5 its short as frick, not that interesting and so far there aren't any new combo unlocks. the combat is stiff and slow. locking on to enemies and switching lock ons is a pain in the dick. and if you're locked onto an enemy and then there is a link attack, you begin trying to attack the locked on enemy thats far away. there isn't any new movement options? everyone feels slow, stiff. it's literally .hack GU tier. like what the frick. the fate episodes are fricking stupid. i really tried to listen to them a few times, but then i just ended up skipping everything immediately because it is so boring. it's just pointless dialogue. is there anything good about this game or is it one of those games that "gets good" after however many hours?

Chapter 6 is pretty kino. You should also use your crew card to try out a new character (alt + f4 if you dont like them while testing them in the tutorial section). I haven't really played any other characters besides Yoda and Gran so if you feel the characters are slow try out Yoda (old midget), he's pretty fast and fluid. Or just drop the game, whatever.
i don't recommend Alt+F4ing in the demo, i permanently lost a crewmate card like that, the game rollbacked me to town when a story cutscene happened and i was missing 1 card and didnt have the character i was demoing

Is there a point to maxing crit if you are hitting cap? I see people talk about maxing crit but I don't understand why with the dmg cap. Does critting increase cap or something? Or some other hidden reason like a build that gives cd for every crit or some shit?
crit makes it extremely easy to damage cap, that's really it. it's fairly low investment for how much damage you get out of it.
It's just maths, if you crit almost all the time then it might be worth using less attack sigils in exchange for more damage cap if your cap is making you lose more damage.
if you want to help people out just queue for the gatekeep fights in proud.
since there's no way to randomly queue into them the only people searching for them are people that are stuck on the fight.

Actually hitting the damage cap will depend on your attack stat and the enemy's defense.
Just with a maxed out mastery tree, and a 150 weapon, you'll need a significant amount of Damage Cap levels before you'll really need attack buff sigils.

It's a game where the outcome of the mission depends on you and you have real teammates who are also putting their time in your hands. It's common courtesy to try your best, dipshit.
Try your best but you dont need to go outside the game nad watch a fricking YT vid or read a guild to do it. Nobody cares anyway. You just learn as you play, you only need to die 3-5 times to a mechanic in a mission to know the entire mechs.
You'll want to upgrade them all to 150 anyway for Mastery Bonuses, but the Crit weapon is a good choice that'll last you into the end of Proud. Use the wishlist feature for materials, but you simply might not have the quests for the materials you need unlocked yet.
The Defender weapons are also a good choice to prioritize since the HP will help a lot.
Use the crit weapon. It's way better than the others. You may end up wanting to do the defensive one also for the hp bonuses.

MMO tryhards are really desperate to ruin this game with their spreadsheet dps when nothing in this game is even as remotely as difficult as actual mmo boss fights. This game has some similarities with raid bosses but overall the game is still very easy. There's maybe only 4 or 5 missions that can be considered somewhat difficult and that's because this game rarely ever forced the player to learn how to block or be defensive so you always get one shitter that drains the critical meter making you lose every time.

this game rarely has any instant death failure mechanics, i think the only ones are the bahamut fights where you get forced dps phases. mmos are a lot more punishing with their fights where if you miss even a single mechanic its an instant group wipe. this game has fights where even if you fail boss mechanics you can still either just block the attack or survive through it.
i like relink a lot but i'm not going to be delusional about how forgiving and overall easy the current fights are.

mechanics are very tight and it takes hours until a group is fully in sync and knows what to do. it takes a lot of training on each boss to learn the mechanics and be confident in your dps. nearly every boss has mechanics that can wipe you at any % so it's mentally exhausting when you've been at it for hours.

Sell the 1 and 2 traits, keep the 3 traits (as why would you use only 1 or 2 when you can get 3 traits) and then you can cater them to specific builds.
There is no point on selling the 3 traits. Some builds might need them later.
6 weapons per character too, so technically you want 6 3 traits for each character...

The Evokers are a character set associated with the Arcarum game mode in the gacha. Free to recruit but a massive timegated grind to do so. Each one has an associated arcana summon they use to fight.
Magicians who wield tarot cards and made pacts with demons basically. Usually more of the fricked up individuals out there, Nier murdered thousands of her "boyfriends" after being rejected by her family and Fraux genocided an entire village after being raped.

This might be the best action fighting game I ever played
I like Monster Hunter a lot more, but this actually is up there just in terms of a satisfying action, boss fighting, grinding game. I wish that it had more equipment or things to shoot for, and that it had a greater variety of enemies, but considering I went in with 0 expectations I actually ended up liking it way more than I thought I would. They did a good job and I am glad that it is successful. I hope there is DLC/Expansions because the game definitely needs more end game, and that isn't even counting being a poopsocker. The game lacks the sort of definitive end game boss to throw a build against. The final Baphomet is a joke and the hardest boss fight is probably Spear Boy + Bubble Girl on Proud, and that is just a story boss with some extra HP. I do appreciate the God-Robot thing and the Black/White dragons at least, those were a nice surprise to find new bosses on Proud.

You get 4 from the story. You can get all 4 during solo play.
You get all the cards from normal play. One that sucks is the one that takes 7 gold dahlias to buy because you can't guarantee golds solo, so it's like 25 shit missions.

nothing really, neither of those characters are exceptional in anything they do. people just like to pick favorites.
She's the best buffer and healer in the game
Phanatmagora is an op buff that raises attack + crit+ other stuff
healing is worthless in this game once you get potion hoarder. that buff really doesn't do anything at endgame either since everybody is already running around with 100% crit and are at the damage cap. the only semi useful thing cags has is she can perma an armor debuff, but again that's worthless when people are already at damage cap.
At the (current) endgame where everyone is damage and crit capped, and oneshots/potion hoarder are the norm, Cag's niche is muted.
Same goes for her otherwise great def debuff sigil.

Triangle to square is a fast approach move, you should never not be on the boss unless its attacking or something.
What's your loadout brother?
Always try to stay in proud stance. That means never using your finisher or holy ladder without one of the other two skills off cooldown to go back into proud stance. You can dodge to keep proud stance up for repositioning in smaller distances.
So what makes Ferry's air combo so good?

So after doing some testing armor debuffing for endgame is pointless since everybody is already hitting damage cap. attack debuffs are pretty useful though since people don't know how to block or dodge.
Damage cap for link strikes and Skybound seems to be pretty high compared to normal attacks and skills but my setup is far from optomized yet

weapon masteries are for your character; you dont have to have the weapon equipped

sigils are like an an armor slot
wrightstones are equipped to the weapon and you overwrite them when you want to equip a new one, destroying the old one in the process. you get a LOT of wrightstones later but early on you should stick them on weapons you're actually using.
Sigils and sigil slots are their own thing and have nothing to do with weapons.

No those bonuses are permanent for the character, so you do want to uncap and level every weapon a chracter has to 150

One of his major gimmicks is that he can keep attacking while getting hit, but if one hit means death that kind of defeats the point and changes his playstyle a lot making him rely on dodge offset way more and making one of his special sigils worthless

Relink is a great game for actual action jrpg enthusiasts. It has some of the best combat and controls that the genre has ever seen. The boss variety is also pretty damn fun. The action jrpg genre is mostly dead and this game is a breath of fresh air.
Shit I still don't know what the best way to play Katalina is. Do I go like all offensive skills and just unga bunga Ares using the skills to keep it going? Or do I bring a heal / invuln / buff and do a lot less unga.
