Yes. I was queing up for specific proud missions and I was always finding a match. I hate doing quick quest because maniac is the highest it goes to and all my characters I play have been beefed up for proud, I don't want to ruin the experience of low level people working their way through with me one hitting everything.
You get scaled way down in quick match so you won't ruin anyone experience.
That said quick match isn't giving me any online either. I get the feeling this game needs some network tweaks to run properly

The scaling barely does much. I am still considerably stronger than anybody I get grouped up with at that low. I got grouped in a level 30 quest and killed the boss in like 2 auto combos. Whatever scaling they say they have obviously doesn't work hard enough for people geared for proud.
How many years did they take to make this game again? Dunno if it's going to be worth down this line. Better than gachashit of course but even if they continue from here, without making something completely new or special to their next game, I doubt it would be selling better than this.
Keep the engine, add more fights, but keep the old, make more expansive areas with more exploration and hidden jump quests and you have a winner. Not gonna take 8 years for that.
That's basically a DLC, 1-2 years. If it's going to be similar to MH, then sure, they could get more sales that way but they can't possibly get more fans without making a completely new game without shitting it up and not taking at least 5 years.

Cygames has around 3600 employees [0], and started at just 5 employees in 2011, so let's say there was about 250 dedicated bodies working 100% on Relink over the 4 years (not literally, you'd have people come and go, contractors etc, but lets rollup all their hours into 250 dedicated people)
assuming an average salary of 90k, that's $22.5m per year, * 4 = $90m to pay for the dev costs of the game
so i'd say they already recouped the cost of development, or are at least close to breaking even if you drop the units sold down to between 1m and 2m
if they spend the money wisely they definitely have enough to bankroll a sequel
i feel that if they do manage a sequel the overall quality will drastically drop. relink was obviously a passion project and it's a miracle they were even able to push out what we have now.

Definitely disagree Cygames seem to like the franchise in general. Even the fighting game has so many little flourishes and touches that give it a lot of soul. And Versus Rising is a great sequel so I have faith that Relink2 is gonna be pretty fricking great. Just get more original/crazy with the roster touch up some gameplay here and there, crossplay and they probably have another big winner. Though they did get lucky that MHWild isn't out till 2025 and PSO2NGS isn't good still people were thirsting for a grinding ARPG.

Swap Benediction for Hinrichten. Free supplementary damage and invincibility for 5~10s? is an insane self-buff, Potion Hoarder is a better party heal anyway, and the unique sigil granting an attack debuff is a similar effect with 100% uptime so you don't have to worry about it not being up when somebody's eating shit.

I think the best thing for a Granblue PC/Console game would be to drop the gacha cast and make their own new crew, maybe helmed by Id. Keep them separate so the gacha can do its thing while the other games do their own thing.
The main cast is boring as frick and has no room to grow outside of the gacha, so why keep them around especially when a huge audience of people aren't going to be familiar with them?

You can basically do the fight on auto pilot just knowing the phases after awhile. I just did it while watching stuff on youtube on another monitor or doing it with friends. The fight is like 90% scripted, the only control you have is how many phases you can skip with proper DPS and timing.

If you hack in perfect sigils you might aswell just turn on infinite revive pots, its such a hassle having to crawl to revive, while you are at it you can remove the damage cap alltogether because its a dumb mechanic

Damascus is such a scam compared to azurite. Azurite completely upgrades a sigil, materials and all. Damascus only uncaps a weapon ONE tier and doesn't even level them up.

I got all of them geared up pretty well but they still died a lot due to AoE or env hazards.
Most of the fight end up from them bleeding the critical bar because they can't used items.
I'm pretty good at keeping my team alive with blue potions and max potion hoarder as well as defensive sigils on them, but my guys just do absolutely no damage whatsoever, it's fricking depressing. I tried proto baha and constantly failed every dps check because I don't have the materials to upgrade their weapons or max their mastery trees

The double sigils yes. It's the character sigil + random effect that are not unique.
It's one of those materials that drop from every HL quest. You just farm something else and centrums accumulate on their own. Alternatively - buy from Siero.

I have no idea why people are so mad about the story. Sure I'm only a few hours in but I love it and I'm sad to hear it's only around 10 hours. I'm trying my best to stretch it for as long as I can by doing every side quest because I really enjoy it.
Yes it's not some insanely good writing or whatever but the cast isn't annoying me, the characters are cool, but most of all the story feels like a grand adventure and that's something very few JRPGs managed to make me feel. Arriving at Seedhollow was so fricking cool.

Look at how tiny of a difference they make to your stats when you remove them. Attack and Health are great early on because they’re flat boosts, but almost useless later on. IIRC, Aegis is a direct upgrade to Health and Stamina is (basically) a direct upgrade to Attack.

Yes. I was queing up for specific proud missions and I was always finding a match. I hate doing quick quest because maniac is the highest it goes to and all my characters I play have been beefed up for proud, I don't want to ruin the experience of low level people working their way through with me one hitting everything.
You get scaled way down in quick match so you won't ruin anyone experience.
That said quick match isn't giving me any online either. I get the feeling this game needs some network tweaks to run properly

The scaling barely does much. I am still considerably stronger than anybody I get grouped up with at that low. I got grouped in a level 30 quest and killed the boss in like 2 auto combos. Whatever scaling they say they have obviously doesn't work hard enough for people geared for proud.
How many years did they take to make this game again? Dunno if it's going to be worth down this line. Better than gachashit of course but even if they continue from here, without making something completely new or special to their next game, I doubt it would be selling better than this.
Keep the engine, add more fights, but keep the old, make more expansive areas with more exploration and hidden jump quests and you have a winner. Not gonna take 8 years for that.

assuming an average salary of 90k, that's $22.5m per year, * 4 = $90m to pay for the dev costs of the game
so i'd say they already recouped the cost of development, or are at least close to breaking even if you drop the units sold down to between 1m and 2m

Definitely disagree Cygames seem to like the franchise in general. Even the fighting game has so many little flourishes and touches that give it a lot of soul. And Versus Rising is a great sequel so I have faith that Relink2 is gonna be pretty fricking great. Just get more original/crazy with the roster touch up some gameplay here and there, crossplay and they probably have another big winner. Though they did get lucky that MHWild isn't out till 2025 and PSO2NGS isn't good still people were thirsting for a grinding ARPG.

I do Benediction, the slow spell, the stun whip, and the one where they all dog pile on an enemy.
Swap Benediction for Hinrichten. Free supplementary damage and invincibility for 5~10s? is an insane self-buff, Potion Hoarder is a better party heal anyway, and the unique sigil granting an attack debuff is a similar effect with 100% uptime so you don't have to worry about it not being up when somebody's eating shit.

You can basically do the fight on auto pilot just knowing the phases after awhile. I just did it while watching stuff on youtube on another monitor or doing it with friends. The fight is like 90% scripted, the only control you have is how many phases you can skip with proper DPS and timing.

I've never noticed this. The chests seem to be by difficulty and each one has specific things so if one was gone you would never get certain things.

Damascus is such a scam compared to azurite. Azurite completely upgrades a sigil, materials and all. Damascus only uncaps a weapon ONE tier and doesn't even level them up.

way too many DPS checks in Proud that require an at least half-geared team.
I got all of them geared up pretty well but they still died a lot due to AoE or env hazards.
Most of the fight end up from them bleeding the critical bar because they can't used items.
I'm pretty good at keeping my team alive with blue potions and max potion hoarder as well as defensive sigils on them, but my guys just do absolutely no damage whatsoever, it's fricking depressing. I tried proto baha and constantly failed every dps check because I don't have the materials to upgrade their weapons or max their mastery trees

How the frick are you supposed to beat Beef & Potato on Proud? There's way too much AoE and you're basically dead if you get hit, especially since Beef guy's attack can combo you on the ground.
I need their legendary drop to uncap my weapons to 150, but the drop rate is abysmal on Maniac and there's only duo fight in Proud so you can't fight them individually for an easier time.
Remember you can hold block and then dodge. With that secret technique you should be able to avoid taking most damage.

It's one of those materials that drop from every HL quest. You just farm something else and centrums accumulate on their own. Alternatively - buy from Siero.
AFK farm the maniac 3 crocks fight, even if centrums don't drop they drop horns you can trade for centrums in the shop.

Look at how tiny of a difference they make to your stats when you remove them. Attack and Health are great early on because they’re flat boosts, but almost useless later on. IIRC, Aegis is a direct upgrade to Health and Stamina is (basically) a direct upgrade to Attack.
