How do you even reach those numbers with Io? I've seen some claims about using Stargazer Lv2 rather than 4 but Stargaze scaling is so each level is worth the extra charge time so I don't get it unless this is some dummy exclusive setup (which also involves using Glass Cannon).

you can't always do stargaze 5 because of a lack of orbs. but you always get a quickcast proc after every orb gain and wasting it is a dps loss. because stargaze 2 doesn't use any orbs, it's the best way to use a quickcast proc if you don't have 3 orbs
also you need to tap y to cast stargaze 1 before every fire/ice etc. while in neutral or after a dodge because it can be cancelled in 1 frame by the skill cast

? the stargaze 1 tech is literally 1 frame, it's not going to make it harder for you to dodge or hit the boss, unless you mean that you're not skilled enough not to fumble it. stargaze 2 is also extremely easy to do because it comes out so fast. i don't always do the stargaze 1 tech myself because i'm lazy but the stargaze 2 tech is absolutely doable because what else are you going to do when you don't have 3 orbs? slowly charge x, which is the same thing as doing a stargaze 2?
It's not about Stargaze itself, it's the constant dodge spam, unless you are running the extended iframes sigil etc. you can't just mash dodge blindly like you can vs. a dummy to animation cancel. Playing frog vs. a dummy is completely different vs. doing it against things that actually fight back.
most people are running improved dodge so i don't really see the issue. it's probably a bigger dps gain than a 4th dmg cap sigil for io if you don't have it as a subtrait on an orange sigil just because of the uptime

That reminds me, since you get scaled down, can you just use a loadout without damage cap but with more damage up sigils instead and not suffer so much?

You want to mainly level up the character you are playing as but put some points into the PC controller characters, like 1/3 of the points you get. Mainly to damage so they contribute, HP doesnt need as many points since PC dodges really well

You want to focus on the main character you are playing which is probably the captain, but after a while put some points into the others you are using in your AI group, most likely rackham and eugen as they are great for end game too.
You want to put enough points in defence for them so they can perfect block and dodge then dump points in attack.
Its not a bug deal but mainly you want to focus on the char you are using.

Iron Maiden + Spiral in melee does moronic amounts of burst damage. Lost Love for instant nuking adds showing up or popping a boss out of Overdrive. Rose Tycoon for repositioning roses.
Bouquet only against fast moving bosses, you don't need it if you have full mastery and her personal sigil. If you don't get Executioner as Rosetta you're playing her wrong. Learn the timing on moving triple roses, you can place them on static bosses in the center during Overdrive. Defensive buff 90% of the time, switch to Attack buff during Chain SBA for easy 9999999 damage, even with shitters.
Don't let the minmax trannies dissuade you, she's never going to do well against a training dummy but she still shits out damage during cancer movement parts when melee can't do shit.

The gacha original was fairly standard in loc, but in recent years after they rehired a bunch of amerifats the quality degraded severely into memes and fanfiction. And yet SOMEHOW versus and relink goes even beyond that with rewrites.
This is the only Granblue worth playing. And I say that as someone who likes the franchise.
It's closer to a regular Action based JRPG. End Game is kinda like MonHun where you kill bosses and do co-op with others to get randomized loot to gear yourself out even harder so you can do it all over again on higher difficulties.
Think of each character like a different weapon. Each Character has their own skills and their own combos. For example, Vane can block during his heavy attacks and he builds up this charge effect while doing full combos. You can then spend this meter to do big heavy attacks and stay in this permanent block state. Vaseraga on the otherhand mostly just spams Heavy Attack all day long and gets huge buffs for doing so and is uninterruptable while doing so.
I keep seeing art of Vaseraga with Zeta. I don't know much about Granblue lore. Why are they always together?

Gameplaywise, many of the Terminus weapons are based on an exclusive weapon series called Superlative weapons, Gay Bulge included. They're pretty old now, so the best way to think of it is that they're extremely expensive, premium weapon skins. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say they cost an arm and a leg and are extremely niche in usage value to the point that they're more of a status symbol than actual core weapons.

I've finally found the best use for Naru's parry. You can use it to parry the Overdrive "roar". So instead you don't suffer the pushback, and win some time for your party to deal burst damage to try and knock the boss out of Overdrive before it enters Bloodthirst mode.

It's less of a problem than you'd think because he can do his leap any time during a combo without stopping the perfect chain. He's surprisingly mobile for the big sword guy.

I afk maniac goblin and rock golem, they drop directly, but also drop mats that can be traded for silver centrums
if you want to actively farm, pretty much anything maniac or above, whatever you can kill faster

Don't worry too much about optimizing yet, first make sure you stay alive. Looks like you've already got an understanding of what you need and you may even already be hitting your damage cap with that build. You can always check the trianing dummy on the ship to check if you're capped or not, before switching something to a cap up sigil.
Completely damage min-maxed main with nearly min-maxed damage party. I don't think I'll be doing online for the next tier of content, despite doing it for the entire game here. People's autistic obsession with metagaming, and often fricking it up, is boring. Phase skipping is fun, watching people somehow frick up 2 burst chains isn't. The people that think they're the best in these kinds of games are actually shit and don't realize that by failing mechanics that are meta, they waste more time than just doing things as intended.
It wasn't so bad when I wasn't getting 50%+ people in the fricking Japan region with English names that have GG or EZ as their post quest quote. Japs actually do mechanics instead of thinking that chasing a boss in bloodlust is helping.

I just started and am kinda clueless.
Proto Bahamut started people trying to phase skip as much as possible to save time on the Terminus weapon grind at end game. If you do 2bursts 2x in a row instead of a full burst, you get more time with the boss being down and can also chain together link times if done properly. However, due to bloodlust and boss movements, people can miss their SBA on a bloodlust or simply a miss and wind up doing much less damage and holding the boss down for much shorter so DPS drops dramatically. This happens often.
The catch is that if you don't actually get Link properly managed, the DPS gain is extremely minimal, but people are trying to do this with no coordination with randos online. With a 2burst without proper link coordination, you might save 10-20 seconds, and if you miss it, you extend the fight possibly a minute because you didn't skip over a certain cutscene phase.
People also try to hold 100% link by not using theirs with everyone else, thinking they simply know best, making the fights take longer because they think that a team of randos is going to read their mind when most people don't have the autistic neet level knowledge I just explained to you anyway.
how do you fail mechanics in this game, you either get hit or you don't. the only one i can think of is pyet-a but failing to kill his generators doesn't even make him that much harder to the point where people just ignore it now. if you can dodge all the bloothirst mechs, there's no reason to frick around doing nothing when you could be hitting the boss
You do 10% damage when it's in bloodlust and the chasing Narmaya's don't bring guts or autorevive, still, and don't know to mash when they die. That's how. Because people don't know the game because they don't read the ingame tips. I've got over 1k commendations, I've seen it more than enough.
Go do some white or black dragon runs and you'll see what I mean.

Want to try a new character out and he seems cool. Wish you could test them out before spending the crewmate card.
Super movement, great uptime, middling damage, and best CC in the game with glaciate. You use 3x damaging skills every time they come off CD to maximize damage, and you can simply spam them one after another without damage loss because his combo finisher isn't that huge of a deal, and it's better on quick bosses anyhow.
Sounds pretty cool, like Charlotta with more utility. I’ll unlock him next then.

I'm pretty sure it's based on skills so multi hit skills will really boost the meter. There's probably sigils too but nobody ever builds for it from what I've seen.

i've noticed that on Gran his multi slash skill will really boost the meter but his single hit skills don't really do anything for it. Maybe skills/attacks have some sort of invisible multiplier? The grenades seem like a bug though honestly.
It seems to me that it's based on how much stun damage it does.
Stun damage, mostly from skills for most characters, but Ferry can hold the Link time up by herself.
Play Rosetta and spam Spiral. Same with a Kat using Ares combo. Certain multi-hit skills and attacks will extend the link time dramatically.

Are there optimal combos for Narmaya or should I just be mashing the normal combo then popping it with skills when I hit the butterfly cap? Also I don't really see the point for her gimmick to be stance swapping when one if mostly worthless for majority of boss fights. I guess I can Iai slash at a distance for butterflies during certain phases but it still seems pointless overall.
Stance swap is absolutely essential for her, practice it on the dummy until you've got it down.
Pink one has higher stun mod, so I like to start with it until the boss' stun gauge is full, then transition to blue stance after the Link Attack, and stay in blue, until the stun gauge resets.
But when your skills are on c/d and you can't use them to reset your combo, you simply have to stance dance. It's infinitely better than dropping the combo and starting with blue single attacks again.

This game looks pretty fun but i can't help but think they completely fricked up with this fricking choice of roster, i've seen granblue fantasy's characters and there are so many that are better than what they put in relink.
The mobage has hundreds of characters. They most likely did their selection based on crowd favorites along with certain play styles they wanted to incorporate into the game. Every character has a very unique mechanics and the play style diversity is pretty massive with the cast.
Yeah, my complaint is more related to the choice of roster in terms of design, in terms of gameplay as you said it knocked it out of the park which is why its selling so well, but GBF has some actually beautiful characters like Aliza,Amelia and Cantate, just to name a few, that are just unfortunately missing meanwhile shit like Vane and Eugen managed to get in, i just don't get it.
