the thing says last hit for Cag at the end so it was probably her cheating, the cannon damage at the start isnt too crazy it scales with ur weapon so if he had fully awakened terminus you can do lots of damage to him at the start
yea i ran into a cheating narm the other night, he would instantly phase bahamut on the cannon to 80% ( i know it was him since I was the other person doing the cannons at start)

Burning through 200 trash sigils actually take a lot more effort than it looks. What they should do is allow you to trash a sigil right after you roll so you don't have to go through the menu over and over.
If you were good enough to be able to be carried through the rest that last one should be no problem either. Just remember to use the cannons to shoot the yellow stuff in the sky.
My 4 man team are all level 100 and have all but their 150 weapon masteries except on their main weapon. I just can't seem to pogo pogo properly in Proud and I don't have Zeta's sigil that makes it a bit easier.
Just go on turret duty and hope that the rest of your teammates are also not hoping to get carried and do shit damage, because not being able to do enough damage to bypass Bahamut's HP thresholds in one go is annoying.
Collected some data for overmasteries. I don't feel like doing too much math but some naive calculations show it's roughly a 1/10000 chance to get three good (+20%) traits in a single roll.
I tried a little but it was hallucinating, couldn't get it to understand that rolling a trait/category would exclude it in future trait rolls of the same overmastery roll. Doesn't help that I never studied statistics, so this premise may be wrong.
I think up to 25% of my matchmaking gets an error. It really sucks when things don't work. That said, I'm pretty shocked just how well multiplayer works in an action game when I'm playing with JPs halfway across the world.

At higher latency i imagine different players see slightly different things happening on their screen but it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

It's a pretty good weapon though you don't have to awaken it, those resources would be better off spent on awakening your Terminus once you get it. That being said you can pretty much use any weapon you want before you get your Terminus, the game isn't particularly difficult to begin with, so it's up to you.
The only way I can see a situation where you never run Terminus and would want to run Ascension over it is if Lucilius does exactly 45k plain damage on entry rendering it useless, but they probably won't do that. Probably.
Apparently his labours were datamined and they found Gopherwood Ark in there. I doubt they'll keep it 1:1 since that'd kill matchmaking for that raid, but they could probably keep the no revive condition.
It's a 10 year old browser game, so you're way behind on content, it lacks a lot of amenities you find in modern gacha games, and it's extremely grindy. The grind in Relink is nothing compared to the OG game.
But, it's a gun game and the progression is satisfying. And it's been around a long time so it's not going anywhere. Zeta has a lot of units too; her Grand version is the most recent and core for the element.

Vane is pretty cool. Got his specific sigil, the one with 20% Damage Reduction at all times and the lessening of cooldowns. + Stout Heart and Steel Nerves. I'm just face tanking everything. Then putting down barriers for the giga attacks bosses does.
I just unlocked Proud and this was my first proud fight. Super easy.
That really slow... Stun skill or the skill where you attack a lot. Press them, but cancel them with a roll, then press heavy attack and it acts as if you've casted a skill, doing the end part of your giga combo. You can spam it as long as you don't use those skills. So I use both since the attack a lot skill is really good, while the stun skill is kinda... eh....
You'll end up in a chain of somersaulting on bosses.

Just finished the story mode on hard. Game is super mediocre. Its not bad, but its not particularly interesting either and I feel 0 urge to continue playing it. It really reminds me of that one Ragnarok game... What was it called again? Ragnarok Odyssey? That game was similarly mediocre and I felt like I was playing a modern version of that game.
It's not even timing issue, the attacks are too fricking slow. By the time I pull off a finisher, a Char or Zeta would have done the same damage 3 times over
It's that combined with the damage cap, sieg is still insanely strong being a tank character, see the danchou stout heart build and just ignore mechanics and continue attacking
Sieg is obscenely strong until you start hitting damage cap. Then he becomes a defensive oriented character because his defensive buffs are real good and you can cycle them well.
Problem is that outside of like, no sigil challenge runs you don't really need defensive options in this game. Not yet anyway.
How do overmastery rolls work? Is it literally just spend 2000 MSP over and over until you get the three you want, at max values? Or is there some pity/knockout system?

It's a unique sigil you get from a trophy, so no chance. However, there's another crab sigil which boosts attack which you get from a quest. Ideally those two could be merged into one, but the devs decided not to do that.
Game really needs just a few more unique bosses, a higher difficulty level which remains challenging with an endgame kit and a reason to do bosses other than the very last one. Loved the game but it's too easy now and I don't want to run only Proto Bahamut.
Super grounded and much slower paced compared to Blazblue. Rising did add a few things to make it slightly more faster and anime but if you're expecting it to be like Blazblue it's like on the complete opposite side of the spectrum. But who knows maybe you'll like it. It has a f2p version with a rotating roster so you can always just give it a try before you commit. Balance wise it's kinda wack right now since Nier is grossly overtuned and the other top tiers aren't that far behind her and I heard the 2B patch won't have any major balancing, probably due to it being close to Arc Revo, but who knows. As someone who's favourite fightan is Uni I still find it to be pretty fun.
Okay, so I finally got to Chapter 0 and I'm seeing big gaps in power level for the quests I need to do. A bunch of them are at 5k while mine is barely 3.3k, any tips on how to work my way up?
Anyone know if Rosetta or Kat is better as AI? I wish I could see the AI's rose level, hard to tell what the frick they're doing. Kat seems to have insane but inconsistent burst when she uses Azure into an SBA chain.
Why does every build use tyranny? Isn't stamina just pure better? >at lv15 its 70% atk boost at full hp vs 36% >no hp loss so you don't need to waste another slot on aegis
If the hp scaling is linear then you'd have to be at half or less hp for it to do worse than tyranny.
plenty of characters don't cap even with just tyranny and stam. hell zeta doesn't even cap with tyranny, stam and her arvesse debuff, then you have ferry, vas, charlotta, naru won't cap on many of her skills. it also helps you cap link attacks on characters with high link attack caps and your sbas ( you won't cap even with both)
if you use stamina you will not hit damage cap when your hp drop bellow 100% unless you use other attack up sigil, pic related still hit damage cap at 1% hp with stamina becaus i use other attack up sigils, weapon with skilled assault
Just don't get hit/heal whenever you get hit? You have potion hoarder and with Io you can just stand back enough to not get hit or easily dodge whatever is coming most of the time anyway.
If you find yourself needing healing getting one as a secondary effect on a + sigil is ideal. I think drain is only good if you're a very fast attacker like Charlotta because it caps at a low value.
Blackwyrm confused me. What was triggering his defense buff? I get the big add became a nuke, but I don't know what the small adds were doing. Throwing them seemed useless because he was immune to slow, but he would get the buff when they were dead anyways.
I don't know why they made drain so bad on the slow, heavy-hitters who could use it
Its weird because lots of other things scale based on attack but then drain cap is exact same regardless. It should be higher on heavier and slower attacks
If I go back to town midquest, do I have to redo it all? I'm struggling a bit with the misison where you fight the primal beasts again. The bosses are like 10 levels above me. I'm thinking about going to town to do a few quests to get some levels.
I got filtered by the chapter 4 boss and returned to town and thought I'd have to do it all again but no after you watch the cutscene it just dumps you right back at the boss fight.

God I wish people did the math on Eugen's attacks already as I know sniper's his strongest basic attack, but I legit don't know if faster fully chagred sniper shot, or 'nade spamming is the better route.
Why does the AI do moves that I don't know how to do? From what I can tell the only things you can do are spam your normal attack combo, the special gimmick moves on triangle and then the 4 active skills. Where are all these moves coming from?
You can move Mirage's around freely. So just +99 anything you're actively using. Soon you'll be drowning in the damn things, including if you farm Pyra for any length as part breaks have a higher chance of dropping them then anything else, and you get like 5 per run by default.

Grind without fun gameplay isn't a good thing. Grind isn't an inherently good thing. It's a spice to facilitate more enjoyment of gameplay. It still requires that gameplay itself be good to work.
if people actually cared about gameplay then they'd play narmaya or siegfried. But they don't, they just want a character that makes them feel badass with numbers. That's why the gacha is getting new players from this
The gameplay and customization in the original game is great though. It just mostly emerges through party comps and character synergies rather than individual customization.
I seem to hit them for the same damage crit or no crit all the same, except the time when they have damage reduction on. But I think it applies after your damage is capped anyway. I don't even see the echo damage most of the time, because they die in one hit.
I'm kinda miffed that they made up a new skydom for this game. I really wanted to explore familiar locales from the mobage like Auguste. I'm pretty sure the original skydoms cover all the biomes used in Relink anyway, so I dunno what the problem is.
Missing out on seeing locations, bosses and listening to music from the main game is somewhat of a let down. Fighting Colossus on Valtz or Akasha on Agastia as their themes play would be sick but o guess we’ll just have to make do

No, full crit weapons + full masteries is all you need to beat him, even with a full AI team.
If you're online you can be lvl 1 and still get carried by sweaty nerds with minmaxed gear.
I awakened mine for my main (Zeta) and only got her weapon after I got 6 others, and still haven't finished uncapping it, so unless you're very lucky I would recommend awakening it.
Currently doing the dragons in extreme quests, when should I start to bother with sigils for NPCs? Is there any place I can find some effective builds for them? My sieg is at 10k while the rest of my party isn't even at 6k yet
If you're committing to doing AI-only first, you're gonna want to shore up your AI soon. End of the next difficulty, you're gonna feel it

Yes if you play offline then AI team is very important, they are actually really good with good gear.
Give them your leftover sigils and keep their masteries up is usually enough though. Focus on the chars AI plays best (Rosetta, Eugen, Percival, Katalina etc).

Normally you can't ougi after someone did, until the chain chance times out (the screen darkens during that time). You press the sticks and nothing happens. But there's a small time after an ougi was fired but before it connects, when multiple people can spend their meter.
What’s the best way to play Zeta? I’ve been using her buffs when we they’re up and applying her debuff with the ranged attack then doing 3 pogos into finisher and looping that.

There's time. I only bought it a few days ago. Though I have 100% no lifed it and in four days gotten 60 hours already and am farming stuff in Proud.
Main story is pretty easy. Only takes around... 15 maybe 20 hours. Then there is some post game stuff, which is mostly just doing hard mode missions of earlier stuff. Then you unlock Extreme and Maniac difficulty which you need to complete in order to advance to Proud. At Proud you unlock a bunch of things like this gambling mechanic and specific bosses get buffs and new movesets + some new boss fights entirely. This is where the monhun farming stuff comes into play.

When you get your first character card, just choose anyone you like the look of. However, you don't NEED to keep them. When you buy a character with the character cards, you get the option to try them out, press yes, then you can experiment with them to see if you like them. If you don't, alt+f4. Just make sure you save it before you spend your card. Then your card will be refunded and you can try someone else. Just know that if you exit the training on the boat while trying them, it's permanent until you get another card.
24 hour peak is ~110k players, which is almost as much as the all time peak. For comparison, tekken 8 had a ~45k peak. The game is insanely alive by all metrics.

I find skill counters/parries hard to justify since they break your flow and are useless in link time.
The only "good" counter is Narmaya's since it comes with a slow + buff removal, and even then hers is situational at best; there is only one mob in the game where you would "need" buff removal and it's a random skeleton with a shitload of regen in the story, plus her slow is arguably not worth it in most fights when she can just shit out damage instead with kyoka/transient/setsuna/pink petals.
All of the other counters should have come with buffs/debuffs tbh.
Yoda's can give you max shrouds IF you time it right (like a perfect dodge), but if you're good enough to land that you might as well go for his parry to skip his combo string.

Combo damage on my Sieg instead of tyranny so I don't take the HP hit. You're already built around nervt stopping your attacks so you're always capped on damage.

Vane doesn't have a light alt. Pretty much all his versions except one are water so staying water makes the most sense for him. Charlotte has a light alt and Yoda has a wind alt so they get to switch it up for a change.

rolan pretty much has everything needed to be a player character. attack animations, skills, party interaction lines, even has "getting damaged/knocked down" animations unlike gallanza and maggy during their brief guest stint.
Gallanza from what I remember did have some non-boss animations that looked like they could work as a playable version. He also does have battle banter with the cast like Rolan. I don't remember much of Maggie though.
Pain Train is always good, and I think you should bring Transmagoria. The buffs are good for anyone not fully optimized, and if everyone is you'll melt everything anyways
Heal isn't great online, Rez can be clutch. Mimic is before Alexandria imo.

Do some quests as you play through the story. Some of them give glitterstones as part of the first clear reward. I'm playing through it still as well, chapter 9 now.
nta, I play Io and have 70% crit rate topped off with a 30% lucky charge wrightstone.
It's not perfect since my skills only have 70% crit, but it saves me a sigil slot, I can't figure out yet how to work in a Crit V without losing something comfy like quick charge or steady focus.
Haven't seen any yet, and i've been scumming transmarvel on the regular.
If I get one or a great wrightstone (crit 10/steady focus/X) then I'll be able to do it.

My 4 man team are all level 100 and have all but their 150 weapon masteries except on their main weapon. I just can't seem to pogo pogo properly in Proud and I don't have Zeta's sigil that makes it a bit easier.
Just go on turret duty and hope that the rest of your teammates are also not hoping to get carried and do shit damage, because not being able to do enough damage to bypass Bahamut's HP thresholds in one go is annoying.

It's a pretty good weapon though you don't have to awaken it, those resources would be better off spent on awakening your Terminus once you get it. That being said you can pretty much use any weapon you want before you get your Terminus, the game isn't particularly difficult to begin with, so it's up to you.
The only way I can see a situation where you never run Terminus and would want to run Ascension over it is if Lucilius does exactly 45k plain damage on entry rendering it useless, but they probably won't do that. Probably.

It's a 10 year old browser game, so you're way behind on content, it lacks a lot of amenities you find in modern gacha games, and it's extremely grindy. The grind in Relink is nothing compared to the OG game.
But, it's a gun game and the progression is satisfying. And it's been around a long time so it's not going anywhere. Zeta has a lot of units too; her Grand version is the most recent and core for the element.

As someone who has played the gacha for a LONG time, I wouldn't start if you want to get to endgame. The grinds now are so fricking long. Game was better when the endgame was UBHL and 5* Eternals and around LuciHL release.
So maybe if you want to casually play and just try to enjoy the progression to around rank 150 or something, you could try it. But beyond that, avoid. I don't play anymore because it got too moronic.
I think Zeta is one of the six SSRs you can get from the beginner rolls (unless they've changed it) so you could use salted emails and reroll until you get her
Almost all of Zeta's involved stories are in the permanently available side stories by now and she's a character that you can easily get for free at the start, so she's not the worst reason to play even if you can't commit to the gigagrind.
Listen to what others told you but should note zeta very recently got a new limited version of her character that is meta for the element she's in.

That really slow... Stun skill or the skill where you attack a lot. Press them, but cancel them with a roll, then press heavy attack and it acts as if you've casted a skill, doing the end part of your giga combo. You can spam it as long as you don't use those skills. So I use both since the attack a lot skill is really good, while the stun skill is kinda... eh....
You'll end up in a chain of somersaulting on bosses.
That's kind of shit since Vane wants to constantly use his C3 combo for the cooldown reduction.

Sieg is obscenely strong until you start hitting damage cap. Then he becomes a defensive oriented character because his defensive buffs are real good and you can cycle them well.

Super grounded and much slower paced compared to Blazblue. Rising did add a few things to make it slightly more faster and anime but if you're expecting it to be like Blazblue it's like on the complete opposite side of the spectrum. But who knows maybe you'll like it. It has a f2p version with a rotating roster so you can always just give it a try before you commit. Balance wise it's kinda wack right now since Nier is grossly overtuned and the other top tiers aren't that far behind her and I heard the 2B patch won't have any major balancing, probably due to it being close to Arc Revo, but who knows. As someone who's favourite fightan is Uni I still find it to be pretty fun.

plenty of characters don't cap even with just tyranny and stam. hell zeta doesn't even cap with tyranny, stam and her arvesse debuff, then you have ferry, vas, charlotta, naru won't cap on many of her skills. it also helps you cap link attacks on characters with high link attack caps and your sbas ( you won't cap even with both)

Tyranny helps keep your HP below 45000 for catastrophe. And you don't really need more than just those 2 to cap damage.

If you find yourself needing healing getting one as a secondary effect on a + sigil is ideal. I think drain is only good if you're a very fast attacker like Charlotta because it caps at a low value.
Blackwyrm confused me. What was triggering his defense buff? I get the big add became a nuke, but I don't know what the small adds were doing. Throwing them seemed useless because he was immune to slow, but he would get the buff when they were dead anyways.

If I go back to town midquest, do I have to redo it all? I'm struggling a bit with the misison where you fight the primal beasts again. The bosses are like 10 levels above me. I'm thinking about going to town to do a few quests to get some levels.
I got filtered by the chapter 4 boss and returned to town and thought I'd have to do it all again but no after you watch the cutscene it just dumps you right back at the boss fight.

You can move Mirage's around freely. So just +99 anything you're actively using. Soon you'll be drowning in the damn things, including if you farm Pyra for any length as part breaks have a higher chance of dropping them then anything else, and you get like 5 per run by default.

The gameplay and customization in the original game is great though. It just mostly emerges through party comps and character synergies rather than individual customization.

I seem to hit them for the same damage crit or no crit all the same, except the time when they have damage reduction on. But I think it applies after your damage is capped anyway. I don't even see the echo damage most of the time, because they die in one hit.

No, full crit weapons + full masteries is all you need to beat him, even with a full AI team.
If you're online you can be lvl 1 and still get carried by sweaty nerds with minmaxed gear.
I awakened mine for my main (Zeta) and only got her weapon after I got 6 others, and still haven't finished uncapping it, so unless you're very lucky I would recommend awakening it.

If you're committing to doing AI-only first, you're gonna want to shore up your AI soon. End of the next difficulty, you're gonna feel it

Yes if you play offline then AI team is very important, they are actually really good with good gear.
Give them your leftover sigils and keep their masteries up is usually enough though. Focus on the chars AI plays best (Rosetta, Eugen, Percival, Katalina etc).
Masteries are actually my biggest issue so far, I just can't seem to have enough of it them, any good quests to farm at extreme or lower?

slime mines, its 1-2k mastery per run plus if a prismatic spawns and you kill it, thats a free 10k MSP + 15k MSP item which is usally enough to clear one of a characters tree and make good headway on their second

Normally you can't ougi after someone did, until the chain chance times out (the screen darkens during that time). You press the sticks and nothing happens. But there's a small time after an ougi was fired but before it connects, when multiple people can spend their meter.

just do a stargaze 2 for every quickcast window until the one with the 3rd orb then do stargaze 5
the stargaze 1 before skills tech will probably disturb your gameplay too much to be worth the minor dps gain, although if you're going to be spamming dodges to cover distance or whatever you might as well tap stargaze 1 between each one

Fire and Ice have really short cooldowns and they give mystic orbs for big stargazes

There's time. I only bought it a few days ago. Though I have 100% no lifed it and in four days gotten 60 hours already and am farming stuff in Proud.
Main story is pretty easy. Only takes around... 15 maybe 20 hours. Then there is some post game stuff, which is mostly just doing hard mode missions of earlier stuff. Then you unlock Extreme and Maniac difficulty which you need to complete in order to advance to Proud. At Proud you unlock a bunch of things like this gambling mechanic and specific bosses get buffs and new movesets + some new boss fights entirely. This is where the monhun farming stuff comes into play.

When you get your first character card, just choose anyone you like the look of. However, you don't NEED to keep them. When you buy a character with the character cards, you get the option to try them out, press yes, then you can experiment with them to see if you like them. If you don't, alt+f4. Just make sure you save it before you spend your card. Then your card will be refunded and you can try someone else. Just know that if you exit the training on the boat while trying them, it's permanent until you get another card.
You can also just disable autosave and return to town > return to title to then try another one without needing to exit the game

24 hour peak is ~110k players, which is almost as much as the all time peak. For comparison, tekken 8 had a ~45k peak. The game is insanely alive by all metrics.

uwe for animation cancelling after your perfect execution, big stun up attack, party defense buff, and party/drain buff. use the defense buff during bloodthirst phases for moronproofing your team, use the drain buff when boss isn't in overdrive or break so you can facetank their attacks.
uwe for gapclosing + animation cancelling + initiation
stun attack because it's the best stun in the game
def down attack for another button to push + more SBA damage
one of your party buffs (either def up or debuff immunity depending on the fight)

I find skill counters/parries hard to justify since they break your flow and are useless in link time.

The damage on the counter isn't all that great compared to bringing party utility, plus counters aren't all that great in link time; Siegfried in particular already has a really bad link time anyway.
The only "good" counter is Narmaya's since it comes with a slow + buff removal, and even then hers is situational at best; there is only one mob in the game where you would "need" buff removal and it's a random skeleton with a shitload of regen in the story, plus her slow is arguably not worth it in most fights when she can just shit out damage instead with kyoka/transient/setsuna/pink petals.
All of the other counters should have come with buffs/debuffs tbh.
Yoda's can give you max shrouds IF you time it right (like a perfect dodge), but if you're good enough to land that you might as well go for his parry to skip his combo string.

Combo damage on my Sieg instead of tyranny so I don't take the HP hit. You're already built around nervt stopping your attacks so you're always capped on damage.

Vane doesn't have a light alt. Pretty much all his versions except one are water so staying water makes the most sense for him. Charlotte has a light alt and Yoda has a wind alt so they get to switch it up for a change.

rolan pretty much has everything needed to be a player character. attack animations, skills, party interaction lines, even has "getting damaged/knocked down" animations unlike gallanza and maggy during their brief guest stint.
Gallanza from what I remember did have some non-boss animations that looked like they could work as a playable version. He also does have battle banter with the cast like Rolan. I don't remember much of Maggie though.

Pain Train is always good, and I think you should bring Transmagoria. The buffs are good for anyone not fully optimized, and if everyone is you'll melt everything anyways

Sliming will net you more money than you know what to do with.
Do some quests as you play through the story. Some of them give glitterstones as part of the first clear reward. I'm playing through it still as well, chapter 9 now.

10 crit on the wrightstone, 20 from overmastery, 1 crit sigil with sigil booster from the weapon gives you 100% crit

nta, I play Io and have 70% crit rate topped off with a 30% lucky charge wrightstone.
It's not perfect since my skills only have 70% crit, but it saves me a sigil slot, I can't figure out yet how to work in a Crit V without losing something comfy like quick charge or steady focus.
