Tha anon is wrong there is no weapon grid at all in relink.
In fact technically there is no gear either.
The short of it is there is weapons and weapons have a trait(s?) that you level and there are sigils that each have a trait and you can level them. Looks like you can slot 10-12 sigils per character so think as sigils as gear even know in game they are not gear you are wearing but each apply a stat bonus.
Then there is skills, slottable that you choose, so with weapons, sigils and skills there is a lot of customization options.
Also there is at least colour cosmetics for characters, pallette swaps, and there is at least an alternate costume for the captain.
Because it's fun. It was the only good thing about vs story mode too.

The add grinding side scrollers were mediocre but I found the grind worth it for how fricking fun the boss fights were, I spent so much time getting good enough to beat Ares and PBaha on Hard and eventually getting there and winning was so fulfilling, especially opening up more grid options once you had it on farm and getting even more stuff set up for the other bosses. Getting hit by Colossus doing his DOUBLE Dimensional Cleave the first time I saw it and rushing back in, not expecting the second swing, was so funny.
Rising adds nothing like this and neuters any difficulty in the original ones and they're nowhere near as enjoyable to play without the struggle. The only "boss" in Rising is Lucillius and they make it look like he's going to have a mechanic with his Labors appearing but they just go away as you smack him. Had to play the whole story mode in Rising on Hard just to have any fun.

I haven't done it on hard yet but I played GBVS RPG mode normal and hard with couch coop and the add waves were fun too.
I dont mind them being left out was just saying that they said they are taking away the grind but that was how you got skins and colours, now they added the grind behind playing the characters and you basically can only level them playing online so you have people with alt accounts in the lobbys grinding on their own. its stupid.

It was not fun at all, its a fricking grind. You just collect duplicate rewards and micro manage them levelling up ones you already have and swapping out better ones, rinse repeat.
It is a laborious tedious grind.
Its just complete padding.
All of that above you are just doing for stat increases, bonus to your health and attack so why not just completely skip all that BS micro management and just give the stat increases as rewards instead.Micro management hich in VS took fricking AGES if you were doing it correctly, took more time than the missions itself.
Basically in relink they have substituted that for sigils, I cant fully confirm whether you level or craft sigils by crafting mats you get as rewards and/or by duplicate sigils you get as rewards but the micro management is basically the same and seeing you have like 20 characters who can all slot at least 10 sigils, well do the maths, its basically the weapon grid iteslef in micro management but simpler, though you will need more sigils as the grids could be used on every character and sigils cannot.

It's a mission based rpg. Grinding to see numbers go up is what you do. I understand not liking it in the gacha because of the mix of farming for weapon but also no p2w weapon are better so save mat for them and shit. But in a game where there's no money involved It's not a bad system to play with.

There does seem to be an end quest reward system that rewards you based on your gameplay, based on the letter score you got and there is titles and MVP that might also drop extra rewards. Not a big deal but still encourages the player to try to be the best they can be.

The scoring system seems to be based on the overall party performance though. You're not getting better individual loot by doing the most damage out of 4 players, in the process cucking everyone out of their rewards. You WILL get punished for being matched with morons though. Collective responsibility in action.

I have seen an end of quest reward screen.
There are multiple reward sections
A blatant quest reward section, obviously just a flat reward for doing the quest, might be RNG drop based too.
A section for rewards that are based on your scoring (team) of the quest with icons that had a little A or B next to the reward, but then there were other rewards with no icons in that section and they could be based on the individual players titles they get or MVP.
Then a section for first time rewards. Self explanitory.
I dont think they will gimp players for playing shit or with spastics but I think there will be both rewards for the team and players for their skill, so it encourages everyone to play better and of course git gud for end game team comps.

I like to think the grid system is an interesting concept for an rpg. Minus the needs for duplicates and the shitty grind although it might just be the shitty grind that makes it so shit. I wouldn't mind seeing a single player game take on a similar grid system where your 2 main stats are HP and Attack and weapons aren't equipped to each character but in a pool. It probably wouldn't be so bad without the god awful grinding.

It's still needlessly complicated IMO, and they only recently (last year IIRC) added an option to finally see all the weapon skills you get from your grid instead of having you calculate them manually for the last 9 years of the game.
Sigils seem to work differently to weapon grids. It's more like some kind of "gems" with various effects on them which you slot in your equipment. Well, I guess, it is kinda similar to weapon grids, because both are basically just a bunch of passive bonuses. There don't seem to be summon auras at least, or magna/normal/EX mod stacking autism.

The IS in game weapon skins that change your weapon, this has already been shown in game.
So weapons are cosmetic and stat boosts also its confirmed you can transmog the weapons.
I need at least one of Korwa, Bab, Vicky, or Cidala to make it in at the very least for dialogue's sake since they just instantly make situations more fun.

Yeah, they seem to have managed to make different characters' playstyles pretty unique. Not just the active skills, but down to basic light-heavy combos. Which makes me a tiny bit worried about the future character additions and/or DLC, because it's going to be harder to make them feel unique. But, I guess, with a big roster there just bound to be some overlaps.

Namaya, yodhara and lancelot all seem to have a certain timing based rhythm that seems similar in some ways, just like how vane, siegfried and vasaraga are all kind of tanky based and can armour through attacks in their combos, though siegfried has just frames,
Dunno about Yoda, but Lance seem to be all about mashing buttons as fast as possible. Charlotta also has flurry combo extensions. The only one with timied combos so far has been Sieg.
I know Naru has stance dancing, but no idea about her basic combo flow.

You mean you can't play through the main story in co-op? Yeah. But they've shown some missions where you go through a level with lesser enemies too. They don't just drop you into the boss arena in every side quest.
my only true worry is about how many boss battles will they have will the higher difficulty lvl of those boss battle have different movesets or will it be like mh arch tempered shit where its just a damage and health buff and will the survival missions be repetitive or will they have a large diverse selection of smaller enemy types to keep it challenging
It's a Japanese RPG that grew out of a gacha, so I expect some recolors. Maybe like dragon bosses which share the same melee moveset, but have different elemental affinities and magical attacks.
The raids in the gacha get different move sets as they go up in difficulty. And different element of dragons have different attacks/gimmicks.
I would expect a real game to do the same.
Granblue gacha is a 4 homies in a row game though, so making bosses with different attack there isn't comparable with creating an action game boss fights with different moves. I do, however, expect more MMO-like fights with telegraphed attacks on the ground, adds, interactive objects in the arena a-la MH dragonator, etc. rather than full-on action game bosses like in, say, Bayonetta.
Relink needs sword and board character for genshin lacks Sword and shield. For China have never used weapon and shield in history. While Japan used large shield called Pavis while shooting at least in warring state.
Looks like he's making a 5e joke where Paladins get to choose an oath that determines what spells they can take and ideally, what their course of action is.

This game was stuck in development in hell for a long time. They also plan on doing a lot of post launch content although I'm not sure if its known it will be dlc or not yet. The $80 edition is also worthless and gives you nothing of value it looks like. No actual content, just a bunch of consumables and a weapon that will probably be worthless after an hour of play.

I seen an end game boss drop 270 and I seen a skill later in a tree for a character cost 270.

the sword being fully levelled up and only for teh captain is a time save rtoo, as you said will be useless a few hours in so just an initial boost.
Though teh colours will also proabably be bought in game so again just currency saving.
Deluxe edition is even more of a waste as its basically just more colors and the OST and art book digital, OST will be on YT in a day or 2 after release.

Single player is not open world. Think of a modern JRPG. Kinda big levels, but still linear. The main story campaign seems to flow a little bit more smoothly than simply selecting new missions from a hub (like, say, in Nioh). Instead when you get a breather in a town, you talk to NPCs, and then you watch the cutscene events unfold which take you to a different place. It's not like you use the same quest board to do both quests and the main story.

It explains the entire premise of the story and up to the point rosetta and eugen are part of the team, so that is perfect enough to understand who the characters are for anyone who has not played the mobage.
Also in ENG eugen has the same VA as batou from GitS 95 which was nice.

Anyway, sorry if I offended you. There are quite a few EN VAs I appreciate myself. It's just Japan's voice acting scene is way ahead of the US in both professional terms and recognition. But more importantly, when given an option, it's always preferable to use the original voices. Not just because of the acting skills, but also because unlike dubs, it doesn't just sound "like" the character's voice done by an actor cast for the role, it IS the character's original voice. And I don't mean that just as a weeb, for example, for The Witcher you should go with Polish VAs, etc. Except Chinese games, frick that bug language. It sounds horrible no matter how you look at it.

Firstly the character having an original voice is subjective, I only watch anime in ENG so say GitS 95 which is in my top 5 fav movies of all time, the VAs are the original voices for those character to me, so much that after the makoto VA retired subsequent GitS animes dont sound right to me. Use the logic with MGS, who is the original VA for snake? the japanese guy or david hayter! Despite the OG VA being dont in JAP, the chatracter is in ENG.
Its the latter of course as most people play and the characters are ENG but the logic is the same.

Irony here because I play GBVS in japanese and actually would prefer to play relink in JAP but I will need to read and cant do that while in combat so will be forced to play ENG at least for the story.
As for watching anime in ENG, well its anime, there is no lip syncing its often just 2 frames of a mouth moving alternating so I have no qualms of watching anime in ENG and to the point watching it in JAP ruins the experience, because of the above, not being able to understand the mannerisms, emotions etc.
On the flip side of course I never watch live action movies in dub only sub.
It's because JP voice acting has a whole fricking industry backing it up, resulting in people getting actual training.
EN voice acting is basically people who either have or dont have theater background.
That's why you got a bunch of really good voice actors who're either film or theater folks, or people like Gary Schwartz who do stuff like improv.
In contrast, the really bad ones are the folks who have no acting experience whatsoever aside from stuff they've done online like abridged series or shoddy voice overs for their youtube channel.
Their acting boils down to changing their voice by 1 or 2 octaves and maybe sounding more somber or upbeat depending on the character.
The contrast between the two groups is so big it's ridiculous, and it's quite noticeable too with how some actors not even needing to change their voice much to fit a character.
You can see this even with non-voice actors like Norm McDonald, and of course outliers like Zach Hadel who has no training whatsoever but just speaks in his regular voice.
Voice actor simps will defend gays like Yong Yea, Prozd and all those generic anime prostitutes with their life by blaming it on voice directors, but it's really just training that they need.
Anyway, I really recommend checking out the interview with Gary Schwartz, he does an amazing job at portraying the act of voice acting.

If the character additions are free I can see some. There is probably lot of half finished characters that got dropped just to get the game finally out and then they will slowly work them out as post launch content. But if its paid DLC then its over, it will just be popular characters again so characters already in Rising. Well at least Bea and Eustace would be acceptable for that society 4 player coop

It's perfect. I was a bit worried that I'd just blast through all the missions and be done but it looks like I'll be able to get really autistic with it.
From the weapon menu, it looks like each character has around 7 weapons, you still need to upgrade them 5 times to max them out though, so it's plenty grindy.
Tbf even FF7R let's you change mid combat but this uses a more FF16/DD style combat system and you can't actively swap in either of those so it's NBD imo.
Genshins combat is laggy and horrible, the character switching feels bad and makes the game worse. I can't stomach playing anymore because i hate the combat.

Tha anon is wrong there is no weapon grid at all in relink.
In fact technically there is no gear either.
The short of it is there is weapons and weapons have a trait(s?) that you level and there are sigils that each have a trait and you can level them. Looks like you can slot 10-12 sigils per character so think as sigils as gear even know in game they are not gear you are wearing but each apply a stat bonus.
Then there is skills, slottable that you choose, so with weapons, sigils and skills there is a lot of customization options.
Also there is at least colour cosmetics for characters, pallette swaps, and there is at least an alternate costume for the captain.
No weapon and summon grid takes this from a must play to a skip for me. Thanks.

Yeah they said before release that they are taking out the grindy aspect of the story but they also cut all the little side quest stuff where you killed adds and they were fun, then added the grind behind online character levelling and grand bruise instead...c**ts.
The add grinding side scrollers were mediocre but I found the grind worth it for how fricking fun the boss fights were, I spent so much time getting good enough to beat Ares and PBaha on Hard and eventually getting there and winning was so fulfilling, especially opening up more grid options once you had it on farm and getting even more stuff set up for the other bosses. Getting hit by Colossus doing his DOUBLE Dimensional Cleave the first time I saw it and rushing back in, not expecting the second swing, was so funny.
Rising adds nothing like this and neuters any difficulty in the original ones and they're nowhere near as enjoyable to play without the struggle. The only "boss" in Rising is Lucillius and they make it look like he's going to have a mechanic with his Labors appearing but they just go away as you smack him. Had to play the whole story mode in Rising on Hard just to have any fun.

I haven't done it on hard yet but I played GBVS RPG mode normal and hard with couch coop and the add waves were fun too.
I dont mind them being left out was just saying that they said they are taking away the grind but that was how you got skins and colours, now they added the grind behind playing the characters and you basically can only level them playing online so you have people with alt accounts in the lobbys grinding on their own. its stupid.
It was not fun at all, its a fricking grind. You just collect duplicate rewards and micro manage them levelling up ones you already have and swapping out better ones, rinse repeat.

All of that above you are just doing for stat increases, bonus to your health and attack so why not just completely skip all that BS micro management and just give the stat increases as rewards instead.Micro management hich in VS took fricking AGES if you were doing it correctly, took more time than the missions itself.
Basically in relink they have substituted that for sigils, I cant fully confirm whether you level or craft sigils by crafting mats you get as rewards and/or by duplicate sigils you get as rewards but the micro management is basically the same and seeing you have like 20 characters who can all slot at least 10 sigils, well do the maths, its basically the weapon grid iteslef in micro management but simpler, though you will need more sigils as the grids could be used on every character and sigils cannot.
It's a mission based rpg. Grinding to see numbers go up is what you do. I understand not liking it in the gacha because of the mix of farming for weapon but also no p2w weapon are better so save mat for them and shit. But in a game where there's no money involved It's not a bad system to play with.
Also, no time-gated daily hosts, or pseudo-MMO honor racing against your """co-op partners""", or binary weapons dropping/not dropping outcome, when you need 4 fricking copies to uncap at least 1 of them, when they're useless until fully uncapped. Etc. The gacha progression mechanics are extremely moronic. Relink seem to be taking a more common ARPG approach.

There does seem to be an end quest reward system that rewards you based on your gameplay, based on the letter score you got and there is titles and MVP that might also drop extra rewards. Not a big deal but still encourages the player to try to be the best they can be.
The scoring system seems to be based on the overall party performance though. You're not getting better individual loot by doing the most damage out of 4 players, in the process cucking everyone out of their rewards. You WILL get punished for being matched with morons though. Collective responsibility in action.

I have seen an end of quest reward screen.
There are multiple reward sections
A blatant quest reward section, obviously just a flat reward for doing the quest, might be RNG drop based too.
A section for rewards that are based on your scoring (team) of the quest with icons that had a little A or B next to the reward, but then there were other rewards with no icons in that section and they could be based on the individual players titles they get or MVP.
Then a section for first time rewards. Self explanitory.
I dont think they will gimp players for playing shit or with spastics but I think there will be both rewards for the team and players for their skill, so it encourages everyone to play better and of course git gud for end game team comps.
I like to think the grid system is an interesting concept for an rpg. Minus the needs for duplicates and the shitty grind although it might just be the shitty grind that makes it so shit. I wouldn't mind seeing a single player game take on a similar grid system where your 2 main stats are HP and Attack and weapons aren't equipped to each character but in a pool. It probably wouldn't be so bad without the god awful grinding.
And by duplicates I mean the uncapping nonsense. That shit can leave.
It's still needlessly complicated IMO, and they only recently (last year IIRC) added an option to finally see all the weapon skills you get from your grid instead of having you calculate them manually for the last 9 years of the game.

Sigils seem to work differently to weapon grids. It's more like some kind of "gems" with various effects on them which you slot in your equipment. Well, I guess, it is kinda similar to weapon grids, because both are basically just a bunch of passive bonuses. There don't seem to be summon auras at least, or magna/normal/EX mod stacking autism.

We don't know, since all the demo showcases so far used the characters' default weapons. But I don't why not. Versus has plenty of cosmetic skins for weapons, so I don't see why Relink couldn't implement visual changes for weapons which are different not only cosmetically, but functionally as well. But then again, I can see jap devs just being lazy when it comes to small details like that.
The IS in game weapon skins that change your weapon, this has already been shown in game.

Yeah, they seem to have managed to make different characters' playstyles pretty unique. Not just the active skills, but down to basic light-heavy combos. Which makes me a tiny bit worried about the future character additions and/or DLC, because it's going to be harder to make them feel unique. But, I guess, with a big roster there just bound to be some overlaps.
Namaya, yodhara and lancelot all seem to have a certain timing based rhythm that seems similar in some ways, just like how vane, siegfried and vasaraga are all kind of tanky based and can armour through attacks in their combos, though siegfried has just frames,
Sieg has timing gameplay too, so does Ghanda (he gets stacks faster with good timing)

It's a Japanese RPG that grew out of a gacha, so I expect some recolors. Maybe like dragon bosses which share the same melee moveset, but have different elemental affinities and magical attacks.
The raids in the gacha get different move sets as they go up in difficulty. And different element of dragons have different attacks/gimmicks.
I would expect a real game to do the same.
Granblue gacha is a 4 homies in a row game though, so making bosses with different attack there isn't comparable with creating an action game boss fights with different moves. I do, however, expect more MMO-like fights with telegraphed attacks on the ground, adds, interactive objects in the arena a-la MH dragonator, etc. rather than full-on action game bosses like in, say, Bayonetta.

This game was stuck in development in hell for a long time. They also plan on doing a lot of post launch content although I'm not sure if its known it will be dlc or not yet. The $80 edition is also worthless and gives you nothing of value it looks like. No actual content, just a bunch of consumables and a weapon that will probably be worthless after an hour of play.

Single player is not open world. Think of a modern JRPG. Kinda big levels, but still linear. The main story campaign seems to flow a little bit more smoothly than simply selecting new missions from a hub (like, say, in Nioh). Instead when you get a breather in a town, you talk to NPCs, and then you watch the cutscene events unfold which take you to a different place. It's not like you use the same quest board to do both quests and the main story.

Yeah you can. I don't understand how this is such a common misconception.
Anyway, sorry if I offended you. There are quite a few EN VAs I appreciate myself. It's just Japan's voice acting scene is way ahead of the US in both professional terms and recognition. But more importantly, when given an option, it's always preferable to use the original voices. Not just because of the acting skills, but also because unlike dubs, it doesn't just sound "like" the character's voice done by an actor cast for the role, it IS the character's original voice. And I don't mean that just as a weeb, for example, for The Witcher you should go with Polish VAs, etc. Except Chinese games, frick that bug language. It sounds horrible no matter how you look at it.

Firstly the character having an original voice is subjective, I only watch anime in ENG so say GitS 95 which is in my top 5 fav movies of all time, the VAs are the original voices for those character to me, so much that after the makoto VA retired subsequent GitS animes dont sound right to me. Not like it would harm my viewing experience but it just doesn't feel right.
Use the logic with MGS, who is the original VA for snake? the japanese guy or david hayter! Despite the OG VA being dont in JAP, the chatracter is in ENG.
Its the latter of course as most people play and the characters are ENG but the logic is the same.
I am not japanaese, I don't speak the language, I cannot critique emotions, and emphasis in a language I do not understand, though as I said I love the japanese sieros VA.
Irony here because I play GBVS in japanese and actually would prefer to play relink in JAP but I will need to read and cant do that while in combat so will be forced to play ENG at least for the story.
As for watching anime in ENG, well its anime, there is no lip syncing its often just 2 frames of a mouth moving alternating so I have no qualms of watching anime in ENG and to the point watching it in JAP ruins the experience, because of the above, not being able to understand the mannerisms, emotions etc.
On the flip side of course I never watch live action movies in dub only sub.
It's because JP voice acting has a whole fricking industry backing it up, resulting in people getting actual training.
EN voice acting is basically people who either have or dont have theater background.
That's why you got a bunch of really good voice actors who're either film or theater folks, or people like Gary Schwartz who do stuff like improv.
In contrast, the really bad ones are the folks who have no acting experience whatsoever aside from stuff they've done online like abridged series or shoddy voice overs for their youtube channel.
Their acting boils down to changing their voice by 1 or 2 octaves and maybe sounding more somber or upbeat depending on the character.
The contrast between the two groups is so big it's ridiculous, and it's quite noticeable too with how some actors not even needing to change their voice much to fit a character.
You can see this even with non-voice actors like Norm McDonald, and of course outliers like Zach Hadel who has no training whatsoever but just speaks in his regular voice.
Voice actor simps will defend gays like Yong Yea, Prozd and all those generic anime prostitutes with their life by blaming it on voice directors, but it's really just training that they need.
Anyway, I really recommend checking out the interview with Gary Schwartz, he does an amazing job at portraying the act of voice acting.
