try picking one up asap in platinum and evolving it right after you get to eterna, the thing absolutely chews threw the city's gym and is pretty decent for the rest of the game

Not every pokemon needs to be good in multiplayer and even if every supposed shitmon got buffed there would always be a worst pokemon. Aggron has 110 attack anyway, stop lying.

      True

Yet the "worst Pokemon" would benefit from being... you guessed it: buffed.

The worst Pokemon being buffed but still being "the worst" would be much better off compared to if it never got buffed.

Bronzong and Probopass are awful tier even in single-player. Really, there are a lot of Pokemon who you're better off using an alternative, but that's the design philosophy of RPGs anyways

Bronzong is a great in game choice. It can use both its offensive stats effectively, learns lots of moves, and has good abilities.

Bronzong was actually good in Gen 4

Some mons are bad enough that even in-game they suck, not those, but Ledian is so fricking awful it actually made me dislike it despite thinking the design is cool.

      Anonymous

I'd post that picture of Charizard typing but you do make a point there would always be a "worst pokemon". However, there is no reason for the "worst" pokemon to be as bad as they are. especially since a pokemon being a shitmon is the most common reason for it being hated.

      Anonymous

      >even if every supposed shitmon got buffed there would always be a worst pokemon
      Worst is entirely relative, though.
If every Pokemon was viable and had their own niche, but one just had a niche that was less common, it would be the worst despite not being bad.

There are a lot of objective shitmon from gens 1-3 that could use a buff or two in terms of stats / move pool. I’m not asking for them to become the best options available. Just give us a reason to use them for frick’s sake.

  8. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

Give them Rock type Body Press (90 base power, exclusive to those 3). Also take GMax Steelsurge and give the steel-type Stealth Rocks to those 3.

    >Bastiodon
+30 HP (Rampardos gets +30 speed)
Gets Sap Sipper as an ability.
Learns Body Press, Spikes, Recover (or Shore Up), and Knock Off

    >Probopass
    +20 special attack
    Sturdy replaced with Levitate
Learns Body Press and Trick Room

    >Aggron
    +10 speed
    Learns Shift Gear
Heavy Metal swapped with Sheer Force

They should all have a place in the lower tiers now. Bastiodon is an ersatz low tier Ferrothorn with the ability to set up multiple types of entry hazards, but it has to be more careful around Ground and Water types. Probopass becomes a decent bulky special attacker/pivot. It could work as a Trick Room pivot. Aggron becomes good Klinklang. At 60 base speed, and after 1 Shift Gear, it becomes faster than everything from Weavile on down with just 144 EVs in Speed, allowing for some extra points in Defense or HP to be bulky, fast, and hard hitting.

88 Speed would still be considered slow in today's meta and its low defenses still leave it suspectable to priority moves that it's weak to.

But Game Freak would consider it OP even though Zacian and Dracovish exist.

Too many OP steel types for this to be reasonable. Magnezone, ferrothorn, etc losing a weakness to fighting would be fking terrible.

I've liked Bastiodon since it's inception, and I refuse to use it because it's just so fricking boring and useless. What's it going to do? Roar? Metal Burst? It's such a boring fricking pokemon, it can't do anything except literally sit there and maybe slightly annoy it's opponent until it fricking dies, accomplishing nothing besides, ooooooo, setting up stealth rocks, which a million other Pokemon which can actually do shit can do. I'm fricking annoyed with how little options it has. I'm not even looking for suggestions on how to use it, because I've probably looked it up once a year trying to think of something and I just can't. It's terrible anyways in every gen, so apparently nobody else can, either.

And I really really like Bastiodon, it's fricking awesome. Would use irl. That's the sad part.

      Anonymous

Body Press and Shore Up would be great for Bastiodon. Maybe introduce a Steel type version of Body Press too.
Could still use a new ability though. They couldn't even give it Solid Rock? Soundproof is a joke

  16. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

I just don't get why whenever they make a defensive rock type, they always give it shit HP and no recovery, so it essentially dies to every pokemon with SE attack

      Anonymous

It's worse fighting physical attackers. No relevant physical attacker is unable to super effectively hit rock. Liquidation was the nail in the coffin.

      Anonymous

All 3 are already tanky enough(maybe not Aggron on special side).
Why would Bastiodon need more tankiness? It's problem is that it does nothing more than using sneaky pebbles and bait an earthquake or something to use Metal Burst back

        Anonymous

i just don't like how easily it dies compared to some other tanky mons like toxapex, just because it has zero recovery and a bad defensive typing. lasting longer could allow it to actually attack without turning it into some obnoxious cancer that most stallmons are

    GIVE HIM LEVITATE

  20. 2 years ago

I think one of the biggest issues with pokemon is how fricked the damage calculation formula is. A x4 multiplier is way too broken for how often it can show up. Especially when there are 100% accurate 100+ BP moves like Earthquake and Close Combat to take advantage of this. It kind of kills any chance of certain dual type pokemon from having a defensive role, even if they were specifically designed for that.
