The moment the combat "clicks" in your head and you understand it after coming from souls games was pure bliss.
One of my favorite games since god knows when.
I hate how From proved themselves to be capable of creating new gameplay that's not constricted to their "souls-like" branding, then they just go ahead and repeat DS3's combat in Elden Ring
Idk why people are thinking it'll be like ds3. We have barely seen any gameplay, and they have already mentioned somethings that will be new. Like mounted combat, actual jumping and jump attacks, mix and match weapon arts, stealth, and the posture system from sekiro will be implanted in someway.
>great protag >incredible combat >balanced difficulty >beautiful locations >amazing bosses >decent music and good voice acting
Any downsides in this game exept bad replayability?
Some repetitive bosses, fighting sichimen thrice got dull quite fast, the headless could have at least have something to do with their respective Spiritfall, and some other minibosses; thats te biggest downside to me, but i enjoyed the game a lot, other minor downsides would be the graphics on some places can look pretty shitty, underwater on fountainhead for example, also how loud the fights are to actually listen to the songs on default settings, but ill check some of the settings, they are nice tracks though
Didn't like the fact that they reused a lot of boss arenas. That Ashina Castle room has you fight Genichiro, Shinobi Owl/Emma+Isshin Ashina, silvergrass field has tutorial Genichiro+SS Isshin, Hirata Room has Lady Butterfly and Owl Father. Still a 10/10 game though
>confetti
Not really, shit's expensive >Malcontent
Always
I don't really know how to dodge the 4 hit combo consistently without using fire umbrella. Also the tracking of the foot stomp sometimes frick my shit up.
run forward and to the right, you can dodge almost all his attacks that way, bring confetti and suzaku's umbrella, when he jumps high up unfold umbrella and keep it held, can tank the hit and aftershock. all his second and third phase ranged attacks can be dodged by running in a spiral pattern in his direction (or just use suzaku if you cant get the timing down). once you get the first phase down second and third don't add much, mostly just a war of attrition and trying not to run out of resources while whittling him down.
in summary his entire weakness is a cool umbrella and running to the right
Sekiro is really good, but it's just dark souls without stamina. It's good because dark souls works. The formula works. I can't really respect miyazaki like i respect someone like kojima. The former just make tge same safe game that he knows everyone will love it. He doesn't experiment or make something really different, his games seems all the same, even if it's a different IP. someone like kojima instead, try something new, even in same series. MG1 is completely different from MG4 or MG5 or Death Stranding. He takes some risk and i can't that respect someone like him. Miyazaki on the other hand, if he doesn't make something really new with elden ring, and he just make dark souls 4, it will lose all respect i still have for him.
Pic unrelated
It's ok to be bad at video games, anon.

I, too, like games where my inputs drop because of terrible programming, fellow moron!
Game is excellent, but like Dark Souls, its not exactly hard once you understand it. Not as hard as retro games but kept my attention throughout.
Cope. Just admit you're bad at video games.
How the frick do you "drop inputs" in Sekiro?
Yeah that's a mystery to me, too.
Git gud
yeah it is, but unfortunately also highlighted the importance of the RPG mechanics in all their other games when it comes to replayability
Best From game to date
This. I really hate how Elden Ring is just another straight Souls and not Sekiro: Souls edition. I REALLY hate that.
It was really fun
I’ll miss it’s combat in elden ring. Going back to ds3 after Sekiros posture mechanics feels like a massive leap backwards
cling clang cling clang cling whoosh, 10/10
This but unironically
I replay this game just to hear that fricking powerful CLANG when you parry Headless Rape Ape’s overhead swing
>that fricking powerful CLANG when you parry Headless Rape Ape’s overhead swing
based, it's extremely satisfying
>getting that perfect parry sound

I think Sekiro is a good game but the only thing required for the combat to click is rote memorization of attack timings.

Pay attention to the trailers. It's Dark Souls. Adding fluff doesn't change that.
>posture system from sekiro will be implanted in someway
where are you getting this?
>great protag
>incredible combat
>balanced difficulty

I don't like a lot of the sound design and the graphics are pretty shitty at times. No DLC was kind of a bummer too.
>>no DLC
zoomie pls have a nice day
Mods also make it more fun to play, adds a bit to replayability.
Fighting more than one enemy was complete ass
consider: stop hoarding your emblems and use the many massive area prosthetics/combat arts
No, I will continue to run away and blame the game instead.

this is the part where i knew i should stop caring
Sekiro is a direct improvement on the Souls formula making combat even more engaging and aggressive.
No.
