I'm really interested in the new DLC. I dig the idea behind the new update being able to stay in Ultimate from start to finish on a build so you don't have to slog through the game so many fricking times. I want to try it out, but also want to wait for the new content. I'm stuck and I'm mad about it.
It's great in theory until you A) realize the mana problems lightning jav has and B) the damage scaling sucks ass and falls off ~lvl85 or the Reign of Dragons timeline. So many potential builds the game could have but their shit formulas and design philosophy are holding them back. I haven't played since they nerfed DoT dmg into the fricking lowest level of hell.
Only things bad I can say against Grim Dawn are base movement is painfully slow, and none of your skills really feel like they have any impact. Things just fall over and die or get replaced with a bloodspatter effect.

wat? Last epochs node change the skills a lot more than grim dawn does. Making meteor crit 100% of the time if you're above x mana. Turning a 3 hit combo into finisher only or making a delayed skill instant are pretty big changes to skills I wish more games allowed you to customise like that.
The skills and talent trees are where LE succeeds above all others. Where it falls flat are the enemy and boss design which are both very bad and bland.

LE was comfy grind kino through the lockdowns, but they took too long to get MP up and running and it still runs like shit despite it being ~10 months after release. I think it might be alright if they're actually fixing shit leading up to release but I doubt it given they won't budge on More/Reduced nodes being king and almost exclusively in skill trees.

They're FOMO'ing views and pretending PoE is deeper than it really is. PoE's success over the years wasn't earned, it was gifted to them time and time again due to other companies blunders. Now that Eric and Qarl left the company completely, PoE2 isn't fulfilling any of it's initial promises from Exilecon 1 while still years away from release and baldo mcfrickface is left gaslightning everyone about his "authentic D2 experience", there's a reason why the game is suffering in terms of enjoyment and it's rightfully hitting GGG's wallet.

Campaign is literally the only fun I have every league in PoE. Everytime I get to maps the game gets dull repetitive and boring to me. But tbqh I only ever play the campaign once every league.

I've apparently spent over 100 hours on GD, but I still find the exploration and getting from any point A to B such an unbelievably tedious fricking slog. That in itself takes a lot away from the replayability, at least for me.

Ashes of Malmouth is incredibly boring. At least the base game kept me interested with the lore tidbits.
AoM starts with a disgusting swamp and then moves on into a bland metropolis. None of the loot us interesting. There's too many modifiers that are largely irrelevant to my build and it's been a good 30 hours since I saw an item with a unique effect I could actually utilise.

Just +dmg and +def with 100s of conditionals. Even the fricking "build defining" uniques are boring as frick. I got through to ~act 5 it was fun but unbalanced AF. D2R scratches my D2 itch when I get it.
I played a bit of it. Leveled a character to Nightmare, several others in Normal. Some issues like the client crashing on the Barbarian Trio fight, when they spawn, on some characters so I can't progress.
As far as the game itself, tons of fun. The modders put a frickload of effort into recreating the environments and skills and all that.
