Suck a dick, shill. Diablo is the king and you all fricking know it. There's a reason a reason why diablo is thought of as the original and all the other pretenders are known as merely cheap or semi-cheap knock-offs.
Always surprises how well D3 fits the switch, Actually some of the most fun I've had with an arpg when I play it on a console for whatever. Might be the roll button tbh
Saying remakes are okay because there are a few good ones is like saying the shitty microtransactions being forced into every game now is okay because the horse armor dlc wasnt that bad.
Grim Dawn is actually fun and has a proper pace, I think people's brains were rotted from 10 years of Path of Exile and atomizing the screen 0.2 seconds after loading into a map.
Grim Dawn has become more fast paced since Forgotten Gods you know but I see what you mean.
PoE was still a good game imo but I quit after Syndicate, game is getting way too bloated for my tastes with all the extra shit from old leagues getting carried over into new leagues.
PoE has only gotten more bloated and far, far worse over the years, it's kinda wild.
They did finally remove another old League mechanic at least, Prophecy.
I'm interested in Grim Dawn. I'm a total ARPG noob. I tried looking at what build would be best to shoot for and it's just so overwhelming. Yeah I've seen the site you're going to link but there's still a billion builds to pick from. >https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/beginner-build-guides-compendium-for-aom-fg-expansions/106137
In your opinion, what is the best class/build for a bad noob?
There are 2 major types of builds in Grim Dawn.
Casters and auto attackers. There's also pet builds, but they're weird.
Casters give you lots of flashy bullshit, but are slightly harder to build overall.
Auto attackers can range from boring basic to super flashy and are pretty easy to build overall.
If you want something super easy, I'd recommend your choice of Soldier + >Shaman >Necromancer (DLC1) >Oathkeeper (DLC2)
Soldier is generically super strong and all 3 of the above 2nd classes complement it super well.
You can level a long way purely with Arcanist and diversify from there with your choice. There's plenty of possibilities across Demo, Shaman, Occultist, Necromancer, Inquisitor, and Oathkeeper.
Oh jeez for a total noob probably some kind of Cadence Soldier build. It's boring but it works. Maybe Arcanist for your second class since you can get some decent Physical to Elemental conversion going.
Yeah, I was thinking about getting it on sale a while back, and most people in the comments said it was pretty mediocre compared to the big arpgs that most people play.

It's good if Grim Dawn combat is too slow/boring for you.
I like action RPGs that focus more on the action and add some RPG elements. Victor Vran combat is extremely good.
the RPG elements are basically Tarot cards that give you buffs, there are only a few armor sets and they all have unique buffs.
there's also Darksiders Genesis which is similar. If Grim Dawn/PoE etc combat is boring for you, check out victor vran or darksiders genesis.
D2 for nostalgia
GD for something new
up to you, D2 runs are always comfy but your options are limited as frick
GD has much more variety in terms of builds
grim dawn is really boring, I only ever finished the campaign once and that's despite all the class combinations you can have. It's just the actual content is shit.
Diablo 2 Resurrected is literally just Diablo 2 with a new graphics engine. You can switch to the old graphics engine at any time mid-game with a hotkey. That said I've sunk so many hours into the original D2:LOD that I didn't find any joy replaying D2:Resurrected even after years of not touching D2 - just completely burned out on that game.
the mashing through hordes of mobs is musou energy. some people just like seeing the whole screen die when they press a button to AWESOME
But usually bosses will be fought alone (or maybe with a few adds) and you have to exercise a little bit of brainpower to clear and get your drops. mmm, drops.
Since when did people talk about Grim Dawn on Ganker, it always got memed on by the PoE crowd but I think they are genuinely too broken by GGG to come and start shit.
there's a HD remaster available now. can get the game on GOG for like $5 then just download the remaster file and run the game through the OpenNoxHD program in the folder.
Looks way better

I just can't understand how Grim Dawn gets so much hate on this map. The game has flaws but even if you don't think it's great, it's such an incredibly inoffensive ARPG compared to everything else on the market. It's safe as frick and consistently functional. Any other game you pick has some glaring issues plaguing them no matter how good everything else involved is.
Didn't realize I got grim dawn from a humble monthly a long time ago. Gonna give it a shot but how are the DLCs? Any must haves while the sales are still running?
Grim Dawn by far.
Suck a dick, shill. Diablo is the king and you all fricking know it. There's a reason a reason why diablo is thought of as the original and all the other pretenders are known as merely cheap or semi-cheap knock-offs.
>glorified cookie clickers with talent trees
if you find these fun past the age of 15, you should reconsider your taste
As someone who plays a ton of Cookie Clicker type games, that's nowhere near as big of an insult as you think it is.
are you implying cookie clicker is bad?
Get Grim Dawn for free on gog-games. It has all the DLC.
Diablo 2 is the better game, though.
Gog on that dick lmao. Going to buy on steam so I don’t have to use a site with a disgusting name
Just play Immortal, dude. Don't you have a phone?
diablo2 is the archaic founder of grindan lootan gaems, whereas grim dawn is more modern with newer systems, mechanics and conveniences.
grim yawn is horrendous
even diablo 3 is superior to that shit heap
i've been playing 3 on switch and i'm inclined to disagree.
Always surprises how well D3 fits the switch, Actually some of the most fun I've had with an arpg when I play it on a console for whatever. Might be the roll button tbh
Grim dawn, being able to combine 2 classes is something too few games do.
Diablo-
> resurrected
grim dawn
Resurrected is a great remake you contrarian queer
Yeah
> defending any remake
corporate homosexual
There are some great ones. Cope you contrarian tard.
Age of Empires 2 has been my go to lately. They put a tonne of love into that remake.
Saying remakes are okay because there are a few good ones is like saying the shitty microtransactions being forced into every game now is okay because the horse armor dlc wasnt that bad.
You're saying Resurrected is bad simply because it's a remake. Which is not true. It's good.
is diablo 3 + expansion a good option as a game to play with my gf? she likes torchlight but she's terrible at games
Yeah. It's very decent for people bad at games.
yes unless she likes the lighter feel of torchlight. the 2edgy grimdark style of diablo 3 might turn her off.
D3 is dogshit but its the only game other than tetris where I got to play on a couch with my mom, so yeah
It's basically an extremely arcade-y hack n slash with no stats to worry about except BIGGER NUMBER BETTER so it's good for your GF.
Grim Dawn is actually fun and has a proper pace, I think people's brains were rotted from 10 years of Path of Exile and atomizing the screen 0.2 seconds after loading into a map.
I would say that Grim Dawn's start is still a little slow (at least if you don't know what you're doing), but it picks a healthy pace past Act 1.
They did finally remove another old League mechanic at least, Prophecy.
prophecy was one of the very few good mechanics though. god I hate chris wilson
Prophecy was very underwhelming, it just had some of the few purely positive always happy to see effects, "insta 5L" and some upgrade effects, etc.
I'm interested in Grim Dawn. I'm a total ARPG noob. I tried looking at what build would be best to shoot for and it's just so overwhelming. Yeah I've seen the site you're going to link but there's still a billion builds to pick from.

never touched casters in this game, any recommendations?
already done plenty of dual pistol bs, spin2win oathkeepers and any solider or demo related

Oh jeez for a total noob probably some kind of Cadence Soldier build. It's boring but it works. Maybe Arcanist for your second class since you can get some decent Physical to Elemental conversion going.
Just play the game and experiment dude. Respeccing is trivial and you usually know if a new skill will compliment your build right away
They're both good.
You can respec easily if you change your mind.
Heard this was shit.
Victor Vran is fine. It's one of those one-offs you play only once though.
Yeah, I was thinking about getting it on sale a while back, and most people in the comments said it was pretty mediocre compared to the big arpgs that most people play.

Grim Dawn has zero non-whites and Crate Entertainment's next game is a literal ethnostate simulator. I know what I prefer.
Neither.
Victor Vran.
Last Epoch

Why is there not a game like these that has tactical one-on-one combat instead of killing hundreds of trash mobs at once?
the mashing through hordes of mobs is musou energy. some people just like seeing the whole screen die when they press a button to AWESOME
But usually bosses will be fought alone (or maybe with a few adds) and you have to exercise a little bit of brainpower to clear and get your drops. mmm, drops.
I vote Grim Dawn
Has more stuff to customize and ways to play than Diablo 2, without going full autist like Path of Exile
Why do we have daily Grim Dawn shill threads now?
I think that it was on sale awhile ago
Since when did people talk about Grim Dawn on Ganker, it always got memed on by the PoE crowd but I think they are genuinely too broken by GGG to come and start shit.
Neither.
Nox.
that's some powerful nostalgia, hecubah was an early fap for me
there's a HD remaster available now. can get the game on GOG for like $5 then just download the remaster file and run the game through the OpenNoxHD program in the folder.

anyone play the ascent?
really wish there were more shooter rpgs
If you want a shooter ARPG, there is Space Punks, which has an open beta at the moment.
It plays surprisingly smoothly.
Grim Dawn with the Reign of Terror mod
that was a fun mod. sort of janky implementation of d2 things but it couldn't be helped
i wish they would remake dark souls in topdown isometric
I just can't understand how Grim Dawn gets so much hate on this map. >inoffensive ARPG
I'd rather play an offensive ARPG than an inoffensive one
Path of Exile or your level of autism is pathetic.
>spend all my time planning builds instead of playing
too much autism
HOLY SHIT IS THAT A 4% LIFE NODE AND A BUNCH OF INT NODES I AM A FCUKING GENIUS
Those are the possible combinations of the unique israeliteel Inspired Learning, poseur.
WOAH HOLY SHIT IS THAT A HEADHUNTER EFFECT
diablo 2 demake is literally unplayable
load times on portals
looks terrible
just play any of the mods that are infinitely better
>giving nu-blizzard money
>ever
pirate old diablo 2 or play grim dawn
grim yawn
what's with that grim dawn shill campaign for the last 2 weeks?
It's been on sale super cheap on both GOG and Steam, so lots of new players. There was also a major rebalancing update recently.
Titan quest + Immortal Throne
If you never played d2 get that
If you played d2 to death already buy grim dawn
victor vran leaned more into action that loot grinding. It was okay, but yeah not a game that rewards grind autism.
Grim Dawn is fun and you can sperg out with some builds.
Crate is based in my hometown which is cool
Didn't realize I got grim dawn from a humble monthly a long time ago. Gonna give it a shot but how are the DLCs? Any must haves while the sales are still running?
poe, devs didnt learn from titan quest when making grim yawn. boring as frick, skills feel like they have no power and has rep grinds like an mmo.
PoE is probably in one of the worst states its ever been in right now.
Grim Dawn with Grim Internals installed so you can play the game at 3x speed for maximum fun.
