you should've played private servers and should also do it now (now that they have acceptable standards of quality, unlike back then)
do NOT pay blizzard for anything and certainly not that much per month

I played some vanilla pservers, and had good fun running levelling dungeons with other lowbies, learning how to pull safely, LoSing, etc. The only annoyance was how long finding a group took.
Then I joined a wrath pserver, saw the dungeon finder, and decided to try levelling that way. It put me in dungeons pretty quickly, but with a load of level 55s who would just chain-pull the whole dungeon, no thought required.

Did I just get unlucky with a bad pserver? Or is that the real wrath levelling experience?

It kinda is. Wrath leveling is just no fun in any case unless you're with friends and taking it easy (but then again, almost all games are, with these conditions)
I'm mostly a wrathbabby (playing MoP currently though) but my enjoyment has never been in the leveling. Maaaaybe the 68-80 part if there's a lot of people around.

          >playing MoP currently though
Are there any healthy/populated MOP private servers?

Mistblade is the only one. Far from perfect but not on end patch, and scripted acceptably

              How many people? Semi-active server?

There's like 80-100 people waiting for Oondasta respawn rn, to give a rough example
I don't really trust their pop counter but there's like 50+ guilds progressing ToT HC (https://stormprogress.com/)

You were lucky enough to dodge that bullet anon
I will take the plunge to hop up on the new wotlk classic fresh servers but I know very well the pop will take a huge drop after the first month and after 3 the serv will be close to barren
Maybe try private but wow is a timesink that's getting old
Keep playing what you enjoy playing

Nah. Most of the excitement and nostalgia people have for WoW centers around the experiences they had with the community and other players. Things like getting together with a guild to hang out, taking down giant raid bosses with friends, and meeting random weirdos in the environment. Sadly, all of that is a relic of its time. Bringing those world states back doesn't bring the community back.

Obviously the content from the vanilla game and expansions was fun, but a lot of the stuff that made people fall in love with the game just doesn't exist anymore since those people don't exist. I'd personally say there isn't much point to diving in now since the community is a whole different thing. It's not the same game it once was. So unless you really just enjoy basic MMO questing and doing dungeons, it's not really anything special.

nah. the first classic was nice but now its full of min-maxers who hate fun, bots and gold buying.

      >but now
Classic also had all that shit. Just look at how obnoxious the world buff meta got.

      >now its full of min-maxers
this. It's ruined. I even raided in one of the top guild on my server and i can tell you that you will get gear, but there will be no fun. i unironically would rather play dragonflight when it comes out because of this

    >Should I Play wow classic?
No. The only people who are playing this shit are boomers who will min max the shit out of it and finish the content in 2 weeks, then they will min max it even more creating max elitism.
    Also imagine giving Blizzard money

I just wanna walk through every zone and look at the architecture
at what level is that reasonably possible ?

Retail would be better for that, everything scales to your level after 10 for the most part and enemies have smaller aggro ranges than classic
