you're supposed to immerse yourself in the setting and story, that is clearly what they were going for with the game. If you're not paying attention and don't care, then yeah it'll get monotonous.
I had fun with it. There's a lot of extra side missions and rockstar added expansion packs, and more story content. Because euphoria engine was new you got to just play around with the physics of shit too for fun.
They gave GTAV nothing. Story's over go play online shitass shit.
Every GTA game is boring.
The only real fun was in the 2D games where the goal was just to get to a certain amount of money and you could do that any way you wanted.
All this shit with story just makes the big open sandbox world meaningless and big for nothing.
Imagine a board game like monopoly. Now imagine that 3/4ths of the spaces you can land on are meaningless towards the advancement of beating the game. That is what GTA open worlds are since GTA 3.
They made the driving really fun and the satire isn't yet so watered down as in V. It is a spiritual successor to GTA III and you can really see the devs loved working on it.
I found that modding these soulless pc ports is a fruitless effort because there's simply too much missing. You're better off just emulating the console versions.
gta 4 is the lowpoint of the series.
it was the only period where saints row was relevant because the rockstar devs thought it was a great idea to make gta a serious game.
plus san andreas outsold it
>gta 4 is boring
4 is zoomer's first GTA.
Zoomers only played GTA V. They were still shitting in their diapers and playing Pokemon on the DS in 2008.
zoomers were born as early as the mid-90s, anon.
Zoomer here, first gta was 3
that would be San Andreas
Hispanic zoomers still playing PS2 in 2008, maybe.
Hispanic Zoomer"s console of choice was the 360
did I say spics? I meant hues
All GTAs past San Andreas are
Gta is boring.
Cutscene, drive somewhere, mediocre third person shooting session, cutscene, drive back.
I never got the appeal.
Grand theft auto is a boring franchise; if it wasn't carried by wanton destruction and Black folk; it would have been forgotten by all the wytes
>chase that guy
>escape the police
really boring, was it intended or they lacked ideas for missions?
map design probably. I liked that it had more interiors out of all the installments, maybe it could have done with more

Single Player
GTA IV > GTA V > RDR > RDR2
Online
GTAO > RDO > GTA IV
>GTAO best
it's literally full of hackers.
Yeah, but in vacuum it is great, some parts at least, many missions are filler shit.

Ah... so you got filtered by the driving. It sounds like a skill issue on your part.
>tfw you've been here long enough to see nu-Ganker unironically defend GTA4
slavs born in 1996 worship this game

>Somehow not a sequel
You are moronic
you're the one that can't read
It's pretty good, but I still think both SA and VC are better.
The missions here seem too repetitive and easy.
Vice City is miserable to play these days because of how it controls. You don't even have a free camera to move around
Yeah, that really filters the zoomers.
>You don't even have free camera
Yeah, that's dreadful, but that's what you got mods for

Filtered like a frickin' cigarette.

gta4 driving is the best, vehicles have actual weight and you have to use brakes
