As of right now, there's not really any other open world crime sim games that can compete. The top sales I think is due to people buying the re-releases on consoles, and new people buying it on PC so they can get into the RP multiplayer.
And yet our clown world will probably make GTA vi the fastest selling game of all time despite the fact the company no longer has any of the writers or people that actually give a shit about the product. It's just suits demanding the profits be higher
The game targets whales and children more than ever, the easiest and least responsible to pander to.
We will see GTA 6 gatchas or lootboxes containing limited time cars/skins. Not that they need it over their already predatory and insanely successfull shark cards

I'm calling it now. Rockstar is gonna go full blown mmo paid subscription to use GTA vi online. This level of sub paywall for cars is just them testing the waters and also being their go to for if and when they get backlash for going full paid subscription
