Watch Dogs was utter shit, like everything ubiBlack person has made in the last 15 years
I liked GTA singleplayer save for V which was redeemed by the online mode and friends (before 2015)
I loved Sleeping Dogs even with the braindead combat or story with wasted potential, there's just something about exploring Hong-Kong
I loved Saints Row 2 and even 3 despite the latter's le wacky nature, both games had tons of customization options
I loved Watch Dogs 1 for its serious story, and Watch Dogs 2 to roam around and make npcs fight each other it really was amazing
I need more games like that but with soul. How is just cause
Literally just finished the game for like the 5th time. It's been ten year and every now and then i just feel an itch that only sleeping dogs can scratch. Wei is also just an extremely based protagonist and it feels great to play him.
Female V's voice actress does a phenomenal job and some of the reactions during comedic scenes made me laugh out loud.
The dramatic scenes are sold well too.
Did you know that Sleeping Dogs was going to be a True Crime game, but they changed the name to avoid the poor reputation the True Crime series had developed?
yes, great game overall, but what do you think about the dlc? iam a big fun of Cantonese horror and the vampires, so i liked nightmare, snake year was decent.
It's not even true, Activision wanted to use the name despite the previous poor sales to reinvigorate the IP. >A year into development, Activision proposed that Black Lotus be made part of an existing franchise and highlighted similarities to the True Crime series; both games were set in open worlds with plots centred on an undercover cop in a criminal organization. Sales of previous True Crime games had been disappointing, but Activision felt the innovations in Black Lotus could revitalize the franchise and make the game successful in its own right. Activision attached the game to the series and revealed it to the public as True Crime: Hong Kong in November 2009.
>Did you know that Sleeping Dogs was going to be a True Crime game, but they changed the name to avoid the poor reputation the True Crime series had developed?
No, Activision wanted it to be True Crime: Hong Kong, but this game was so bad they cancelled it and sold the game and studio to Square Enix for practically nothing (despite the game being almost complete). >The publisher said that due to "quality issues" further investment would not make the game competitive in the genre even with their most optimistic projections.
It ended up not being a True Crime game, as Activision owns the rights to True Crime.
Stop spreading this falsity in every sleeping dogs thread. It started out as an original IP, then was rebranded into true crime by activision, then was rebranded again into sleeping dogs when squeenix picked it up.
This game was a godsend when i played gta v on release and just didn't like it very much. I hate how slow and sluggish the characters control in gta v, i could give less of a frick about realism. Sleeping dogs gave me everything i wanted, completely unconcerned with realism, just ridiculously over the top from start to finish.
does anyone else think police chases are more fun in this than gta V? I like how the AI behaves, plus no roadblock or cars popping magically in front of you. i just wish it was harder.
>Every game that tried to be like GTA is usually better but the sequels of said game get worse down the line.
Make you realize that GTA isn't some untouchable god that can't be defeated. Rockstar has similar levels of Nintendo bonus, the games are ass, but people and their fans suck their dicks off so hard you start to believe that the games are good, which they are not.
>used to be hated
Literally WHAT are you talking about??? People loved sleeping dogs when it came out and for years it was praised as a classic. This board has had pork bun threads for years, and now you claim that everyone hated this game & only started praising it now because of a eceleb???
It was pretty good but I wish the gunplay was either removed or reworked to blend with the melee to give us some gun-fu action sequences instead of third person cover shooter shit but its a product of its time I guess
They should have kept it more focused on the martial arts and made into a true Bruce Lee game, once guns were introduced the game started being boring.
nah, the gunplay was fun, it's really easy but it feels good, go out of cover, activate slowmo, get headshots to extend slowmo duration. very fun. Vehicle shooting is the same, shoot wheels, car flips over and explodes in slowmo.
Except the tournament, that dlc rules
yep, tournament is great, nightmare was fun too, but it was too long.
GTA feels very basic next to some 'clones', even V doesn't have any visual driving indicators on the road, you have to look at the mini map to know where to drive.
Maybe depends on what you're after. Gta v is kinda boring imo because there's very few ways of actually interacting with the world as opposed to sleeping dogs. Gta v doesn't even have proper hand to hand combat.

What is tournament? All I have as dlcs are Year of the Snake and Nightmare in North Point
Tournament is accessed in game, you have to drive out to a harbour and there a boat will take you to an island to enter a tournament. The whole thing is a massive reference to enter the dragon.
>devs wanted to make a single player sequel with two protagonists: Wei Shen working as a cop again and another dirty cop that dealt with the Triads >Square Enix instead made them make a multiplayer-only game that failed to garner interest and wasted so much money and time the devs had to close the studio
Frick Square Enix.
>Triad Wars was described by the developers as "something we've wanted to do for ages but just never had the chance. But now we do."
The sequel was cancelled before it even went into production, but it already contained weird online, mobile, and cloud components, as well as coop; they described it as "massively single player".
They were going to be shut down no matter what, they were a new studio who had already had massive layoffs, and the game only ever got released because Square Enix was able to pay very little for it, so they didn't care that it massively underperformed.
Loved it, got the game for "free" on PSN+ back when PSN+ wasnt shit.
Went in playing the game expecting nothing because of the bad reviews, but i got hooked fast.
The fighting is fun, the driving is fun, hongkong is a cool city, the shooting is shit, the story is good, the romance options are moronic.
Really wanted to eat a pork bun after playing this game.
>Went in playing the game expecting nothing because of the bad reviews
The game reviewed well, it had an 83 on Metacritic (for the PS3 version) at release.
Have you played the game? Despite what people in this thread believe, it isn't that great. It's fine, and sold fine for it's quality level, but its quality didn't reflect its ridiculous budget (at least more than the Tomb Raider reboot cost), and was expected to sell extremely well. When announcing its cancellation, Activision said: >the increase in budget and subsequent delays meant that the game would have to be "pretty incredible success" for Activision to have an acceptable return on investment.
Missed the point that GTA isn't popular for its story, it's popular as a sandbox where you can instantly cheat in weapons and vehicles so you can crash helicopters into prostitutes.
>Buy pork buns >Like them >To make them at home >Literally just tastes like a hamburger
I don't get it, I followed the recipe exactly. And aside from the taste, how do they get that texture with the meat?
>no option to go full criminal at the end
i was surprised it really felt like it was building up to be able to choose to convert into a red pole towards the end
The ending was unfortunately not the best part of the game. It ends very abruptly and the way it wraps up all the loose ends isn't very elegant. I wanted to kill Pendrew, but i guess that's just an impossibility given he's a cop and wei's superior.
>poor man's GTA and Yakuza mix
the only decent GTA clone was the first Watch Dogs (after all patches)
>poor man's
>is better than both combined
lel

That's just Hong Kong IRL

>Overarching narrative
>Great protagonist
>Best friend is named Jackie
I really don't know if V was great but the fact that both Jackie's were done dirty will never sit right with me
Female V's voice actress does a phenomenal job and some of the reactions during comedic scenes made me laugh out loud.

ty, i will like and subscribe
yes, great game overall, but what do you think about the dlc? iam a big fun of Cantonese horror and the vampires, so i liked nightmare, snake year was decent.
Don't be a c**t, I'm posting something relevant to the game in a thread for the game.
>Don't be a c**t,
You're such a moronic gorilla Black person it's insane
have a nice day
apologies mate, this is the 4th time i hear this fun fact

Did you know that Vigo Mortensen broke his toe while kicking a helmet during a scene in The Two Towers?

Haven't played this game since it came out but I loved it. I'd revisit but heard definitive fricked the visuals
For me, it's Sleeping Dogs and Saints Row The Third.
>Yakuza except good
Fixed it for you
This game was a godsend when i played gta v on release and just didn't like it very much. I hate how slow and sluggish the characters control in gta v, i could give less of a frick about realism. I think driving in general is way more fun in this game, giving you the ability to ram is enough for me to prefer sleeping dogs
Everything is better
>Every game that tried to be like GTA is usually better but the sequels of said game get worse down the line.
Make you realize that GTA isn't some untouchable god that can't be defeated. Rockstar has similar levels of Nintendo bonus, the games are ass, but people and their fans suck their dicks off so hard you start to believe that the games are good, which they are not.
GTA games aren't bad, I really enjoy the VCS, VC and SA, but Saints Row 2 is definitely better than any released GTA game so far.
Gta if it was fun, has good story, character, world, environment
>forsen plays a game
>suddenly the always online schizos start praising a game that used to be hated
like clockwork
Whats a forsen?
People have been calling this game an underrated gem for years, it's beloved on here. At this point it's just a straight up class
>google who forsen is
>a literally who with average 4k views on his videos
yea he's a real influencer, lol.
>used to be hated
Literally WHAT are you talking about??? People loved sleeping dogs when it came out and for years it was praised as a classic. This board has had pork bun threads for years, and now you claim that everyone hated this game & only started praising it now because of a eceleb???
You were not yet born when Sleeping Dogs came out.
>forsen plays a game
Who?
Yes, but unfortunately gtaplebs are buying something with gta on the cover only. The genre simply died because of that
Is there a mod to change the chink protag into a white chad?
>there hasn't been another game with driving that lets you hold the car door open to nail pedestrians
I mean State of Decay 1 and 2 let you do that but it's a zombie survival game
I vaguely remember playing the first. Wasn't the driving terrible?
It was pretty good but I wish the gunplay was either removed or reworked to blend with the melee to give us some gun-fu action sequences instead of third person cover shooter shit but its a product of its time I guess
They should have kept it more focused on the martial arts and made into a true Bruce Lee game, once guns were introduced the game started being boring.
It wasn't going to be as melee focused as it was, they only refined that element in the final year of development, at the behest of Square Enix.
Nah I like that there's guns and I like that you dont get them until well into the game so when you do, they feel powerful and effective.
nah, the gunplay was fun, it's really easy but it feels good, go out of cover, activate slowmo, get headshots to extend slowmo duration. very fun. Vehicle shooting is the same, shoot wheels, car flips over and explodes in slowmo.
yep, tournament is great, nightmare was fun too, but it was too long.
>grab random woman off the street.
>punch her a bunch of times
>stuff her into a random car's trunk
>drive the car into the ocean as you jump off
any other game lets you be this based?
I love how quickly the game loads on my pc. literally i can hit 'launch' and within 10 seconds I'm already in my apartment.
Every game loads that fast when you have an SSD.
i'm playing it off a 4tb hdd. 5400rpms
I never played a GTA game before but I fricking loved this game. Will GTA disappoint me if this was my first theftlike?
GTA feels very basic next to some 'clones', even V doesn't have any visual driving indicators on the road, you have to look at the mini map to know where to drive.
Maybe depends on what you're after. Gta v is kinda boring imo because there's very few ways of actually interacting with the world as opposed to sleeping dogs. Gta v doesn't even have proper hand to hand combat.

Tournament is bruce lee kino.

the longer you play the more tedious this game gets as well

wasn't the game itself started off as a sequel of another series?
>Triad Wars was described by the developers as "something we've wanted to do for ages but just never had the chance. But now we do."

So much this, they are mostly responsible for the deus ex reboot shitshow too.
That's not Saints Row 2

Yes it is. It just doesn't appeal to the wide audience they expected
Missed the point that GTA isn't popular for its story, it's popular as a sandbox where you can instantly cheat in weapons and vehicles so you can crash helicopters into prostitutes.
This looks delicious, what the hell.
They can be, but they are unhealthy, it's pretty much asian junkfood.
literally meat inside a dough, no different than a hamburger.
>Buy pork buns
>Like them
>To make them at home
>Literally just tastes like a hamburger
I don't get it, I followed the recipe exactly. And aside from the taste, how do they get that texture with the meat?
What recipe did you use and did it have any chinky characters in the title/text at all? You're looking for baozi (包子) specifically.
>how do they get that texture with the meat
Use gutter oil.
I Recommend adding Chinese sausage and quail egg
>Chili oil on top of bun
That's like putting cheese on top of a burger bun
Weren’t there suppose to be a sleeping dog movie?
More like Yakuza but good
Shitty camera minigame where you have to guess random numbers made me drop it
>no option to go full criminal at the end
i was surprised it really felt like it was building up to be able to choose to convert into a red pole towards the end
The ending was unfortunately not the best part of the game. It ends very abruptly and the way it wraps up all the loose ends isn't very elegant. I wanted to kill Pendrew, but i guess that's just an impossibility given he's a cop and wei's superior.
>Leave Wei Shen to me.
