WATER: Rockstar Games has therefore decided to develop a new technology concerning water physics and integrate it into their next project, GTA 6. The team in charge of this mission is called the « RAGE Technology Group« , a subdivision of the Rockstar San Diego studio that developed and released the starry firm's proprietary engine in 2006. The team is composed of twenty-ish engineers with in-depth knowledge of programming, real-time physics simulation, understanding of memory padding considerations, linear algebra, trigonometry, matrix and quaternion mathematics. After months of research, experimentation and optimization, engineers at the Californian studio have achieved the feat of physically simulating water in an open-world video game in real time.
The ocean will play an important role in the GTA 6 universe, and that new activities such as surfing will be possible (although this has not yet been confirmed). In 2000, Rockstar Games published the video game Surfing H30, developed by Opus Studio. The game being what it is, it had the merit of daring to venture into an area where the technical capabilities of the time were not optimal for making the most of the targeted activity.
VEHICLES: Many improvements have been made to vehicle physics, thanks to a significant increase in the number of polygons compared with GTA 5. This will enable more precise deformations and, by extension, more realistic accidents. From now on, vehicle customization will impact not only the exterior, but also the driving experience. In any case, this is what Rockstar and the San Diego teams are aiming for with the new version of the RAGE engine. Installing a spoiler on your vehicle, for example, may prove useful for your handling during gusty storms. The balance between realism and arcade mode will be managed in such a way as to maintain a driving experience similar to that of GTA 5, so don't worry about this key element of the game.

>GTA 6 will be the first title in the Grand Theft Auto saga to feature physically simulated light. This is made possible by materials called PBR (Physics-Based Rendering), which are the set of technologies that give materials physical optical properties (reflection, roughness, etc.) . These technologies have been available since 2018 thanks to RAGE 8 (Red Dead Redemption 2), which was based on PBR rendering. This enables textures to be rendered more realistically in relation to light, for a more immersive experience both day and night.
Vice City is Rockstar Games’ satirical take on Miami. As a city renowned for its nightlife, it was necessary to allow players to experience a more realistic immersion during the night.
>There will be a real weather system that will impact the game’s environment and gameplay. Gusts of wind will batter vegetation and create waves that will disturb the peace and quietness of the beach. Rain and wind will affect your driving during high-speed travel. Sunrises and sunsets will be more realistic than ever, and nights more disturbing…
>rage engine
Rage engine is incredible
>RAGE engine
>Rockstar Advanced Game Engine engine
Lol, I don't believe this shit will be in the game at all. If so it will be completely neutered
Rockstar/TakeTwo are mega israelites hiring fricking moronic pajeets of all people to assist with programming that will ruin all that efficient code. Not to mention that huge swathes of the OG devs and writers left after RDR2. In some article it was said they got rid of 'toxic bro culture'.
I won't lie, I'm excited for GTA VI but you are fricking delusional or stupid if you don't think it will be unoptimized as frick and be woke as hell
Wow I can't wait to play it in 2028.
why are you getting an advance copy?
gta 5 and rdr 2 lookthe same though
You’re insane. GTAV at launch looks like dog shit compared to rdr2 at launch.
GTA V looked surprisingly decent for a game that was initially made to run on 7th gen hardware
GTA V already looked dated when it came to character models, but RDR2 is easily one of the best looking games of the decade
>Californian studio have achieved the feat of physically simulating water in an open-world video game in real time.
How does this make the game more fun?
Who gives a shit?
It’s going to be the best selling piece of media ever created so pretty much everyone. What kind of stupid fricking question is this?
Here’s a 3D animation from 2016 that best represents the physics and graphics of the water we’ll see in GTA 6:
?si=Daza9mvZRm_wT7UR
>Floridakino game with the most advanced weather and ocean physics to date
yeah yeah same old marketing lies
If there’s anybody that lives up to autistic details and graphics it’s rockstar.
I'll believe it when I see it
Rdr2/gtav/gtaiv,max Payne 3. Why is this so hard for you to believe?
buy an ad
>If there’s anybody that lives up to autistic details and graphics it’s rockstar.
lmfao what
Are you moronic, a zoomer or both?
BoTW/ToTK looks like shit and it has more attention to detail than anything Rockstar has made. Red Dead 2 looks pretty but the world is static as frick.
don't try to argue with marketers
I would argue both nu zelda and rockstar are super detailed but nu zelda is far superior at utilizing detailed physics and interactions and integrating it into the gameplay (physics puzzles, combat, zonaite and traversal). Rockstar has been obsessed with detail starting with gta 4 but missions are standard 3rd person set piece shooting. The open worlds in rockstar are simulatenously huge and detailed yet very scripted and limited in how you interact with it.
That old Rockstar is dead, replaced with diversity hires and woke workers with no skills.
Literally nobody who made anything Pre-GTAV still works there. Stop treating them as a brand.
We're gonna get a Latina Bad b***h Tough Girl Hacker Lady as the main character!
so exciting!
SLAY QUEEN!
Just make a good game. RDR2 was interesting for 5 minutes, feeding an npc to an alligator, or on the train tracks. Maybe poker. then you’re left with shit all to do except watch 60 hours of cutscenes
wow thats great! can't wait to see how this will play out on all of the "chase the guy until the game says you can kill him" that will be 99% of the game
Can't wait for 720p 30fps on the PS5!
>realism
YAWN
i thought they were fricking AI NPCs and thats whats taking them so long.
but fricking water? meh.
The article mentions ai
they're gonna do it bros. i can feel it in my PP.
AI NPC interactions confirmed for GTA 6
this will probably a current + next generation release.
Install base of PS5 and SeriesXS is dogshit so releasing right now would actually hurt GTAs sales
>gta6
place your bets on what res you'll have to upscale from to play this at 1080/30
As long as there’s a substantial graphical leap and AI improvements that make for improved combat scenarios I don’t give a frick about resolution.
Considering it's set in notFlorida, some attention of detail put on the water physics should be the one of the major priority of the game imo.
INB4 RUNS AT 15 FPS ON CONSOLES
lmao who gives a shit about poor consolegays.
it's going to be unoptimized on pc and run at 15 fps anyways with stutters. also going to require rockstar always online launcher
Don’t get pc-only gays have to wait an extra year or two at the MINIMUM again.
found the poor consolegays 🙂
moron
shitty hardware
>falling for 4k meme
you wasted money
>you wasted money
im not poor 🙂
you wasted money
are you mad?
you wasted money
you wasted money
>paying extra to play unoptimized table scraps
Imagine being a pctard lmao
that's more than enough. by the time this comes out fsr5/dlss6 will be out for consoles and pc which will have 4x the fake frames and we can all play at 540p/15 upscaled to 4k/60
>water physics
nani the frick?
This would be more exciting if the it werent a GTA game.
GTA is just boring real life, kind of a waste of that water technology if youre just gonna surf and swim.
the more you hype up this game like this, the more dissapointeed you will be when it's released. remember the Watch Dogs fiasco.
So their target hardware is ps6?
>hurricane season and flooding
Would be an instant buy, not that it'll happen knowing the esg hires calling the shots these days
RDR weather was by far the best I've seen in a game to date so I hope they keep expanding on that, especially in such a rainy place like Florida
Are they still using Euphoria for animation? I read that it's integrated in RAGE but the company that licensed it stopped doing anything years ago.
I hope they make stealth better since they keep putting it into games even with shit stealth systems
It's going to have ray tracing and strand hairs and then call it a day.
If only they'd put that much effort in designing good missions
I am all for good water in vidya, but I'm concerned about how much resources it will require
Rdr2 already was 200 gb, and pretty steep pc requirements, gta 6 might be such a age deciding thing I almost hope it will be a flop
>200 gb
rdr2 is 119gb
119 gb too much in my opinion
>Inb4 500 GBs min
There is no competition for your game if the user has no free space on the drive. CoD has already figured that business model works when paired with datacaps and throttling.
That one miiverse kid must be ecstatic
>in the future, graphics will be better
interesting prediction, anon
It's going to run at 10 fps and full of bugs.
It'll look like shit and run like shit on the PS5 so the graphics won't be a selling point. The gameplay is obviously going to suck too and the less said about the writing the better. Hard pass.
