Anyone here played it and can tell me if it's good? Just found out about it. A brief wiki search says the playerbase and critics liked it for what it's worth. Seems to be more gameplay focused, like a topdown action adventure.

Alright, I played for 90 minutes and I really like it so far. It has a great sense of humor and a lot of charme. The gameplay so far is rather simple but fun, it is a really classic action adventure.

I played it for a while and got bored, eventually, you hit the point where you just log in, sweep your stamina away and then log out until new content arrives.
It's my favorite phone game. Story's a slow burn but it gets REALLY good. An unironic "It gets good after XXX hours." The early chapters are just a setup, if you find them boring. Shit gets real by 9. Personally I found the early bits cute enough that I stuck through it, though even there there's some cool worldbuilding and funny bits of writing.
The gameplay is always fun enough though, in my opinion. If you liked classic top down Zelda games you'll like GT. Tons of puzzles, the bosses get really damn fun, later chapters start getting excellent exploration through big sprawling levels. The soundtrack has a few really great bits but in my opinion isn't one of the most notable parts of it. Cute sprites, fun characters, etc. A billion different game modes from FFA battle royale to a SHMUP to DPS optimization against bosses. Zany asynchronistic world that's consistent enough that it always feels right.
But it's definitely a grind game about the grind and finishing your item/character collection, there's PvP in a stat grinder, and the devs are slow as balls. We're just coming off of a month-long collab that didn't add all that much content and held the story/world hostage for all that time. It's still doing well though and not in danger of EoS, as much as you'd be led to believe by its online presence. There's usually a general on /vg/ but it's been bumpgayging (just failed overnight) and that's mostly it for the last week or two because there's nothing to talk about for old players but as a new player there's so much to do that won't be a problem.

If I want to just invest solely into Male Knight should I use my free rolls on equipment? I don’t give a frick about tiers or efficiency so I’m not going to reroll but I’ll roll champions if they aid my Male Knight if that’s at least 10x better
the canon MC is the girl and you'll need other characters for worlds. you can do the early ones easily, but then w9 gets really hard.

yes but make sure you pull some heroes that buff up your knight first
future knight is a good one
its a little better now that knight has his second weapon (the bow) but its still an uphill battle the worlds do not scale well to 3-4 star base leads
I played up to world 9 or 10 with knight lead back before merch was a thing, I'm sure he'll be fine.
yeah i was mainly talking about post timeskip, everything before that felt managable. even hard at times but felt fair
but once you go through the portal you get hit with massive damage sponges and one shots
though this was before his bow was added, so i dunno that much
