I've been thinking of emulating the PS2, but I have always been under the impression that half the catalogue is just movie tie in games, and the other half is just shit. Am I wrong?
Everyone used to release stuff on it, it was pretty much the result of almost all households having one. Sure there's an ocean of garbage but also a ton of good stuff both widestream and niche.

Jesus...
We're talking about PS2 here, try to keep up. PS1 has great games.
This image alone mogs consoles' entire libraries.
I think what annoys me about the PS2 catalogue is that its catalogue is mostly 3d games and I just can't stomach early 3d control schemes (or graphics). I think 3d games from that era aged like milk in general. THat being said the games you posted are great.
I was just considering selling my old playstation stuff. I have a stack of PS1 games, Unique and varied, some truely classic stuff, it would be hard to let that go. But the PS2 stuff I have much fewer games, some great things like GTA but I'd much more easily let that go than the PS1

PS2 had such a huge library due to its sales that you can find examples of any kind of game. You will definitely find something good. I recommend the original Ratchet and Clank + most of the Armored Core series.
