if u ever made the decision to sell out to stadia i will not support your game. stadia exclusivity is a clear indication that you do not care about your game and only the profit it would bring
Can you tell me why Stadia didn't use a kind of hybrid option, i.e. a physical console connected to cloud gaming or even a very own gaming console like the XboX or PS?
There's some stuff I don't know but I can say I worked on Vulkan optimization and I was an undergraduate at UC Berkeley in EECS. It was pretty easy to get a job because I had prior working experience (proof I'm not incompetent) and I'm very good at algorithms.
As speculation, I would say that Stadia was meant to heavily target and incorporate Chrome and Chromecasts, there was no plan to put it on consoles. Outside of Nest and Android, Google prefers to stay a software company. (Of course there were the Stadia controllers, but that's nothing compared to a console.)
How long have you been working on Stadia, I'm curious since when was it in development?
Btw: Stadia has been discontinued anyway. So it's done. I also think cloud gaming is still a thing of the future in year 20xx. I hope you were generally satisfied with your employer as Google.
Ps: Do you maybe know someone who worked at EA DICE?
I joined the team around release, October 2019, so I don't really know the early history. I think development started just before March 2018-ish based on docs and slides I can remember. I left the company in 2022.
I think cloud gaming will pick up again as a good alternative to having a console or computer at home. Shame that Google mismanaged its attempt and probably set it back by several years. The service worked really well, latency was basically unnoticeable, it's not like you need twitch shooter reactivity when you're playing Assassin's Creed or Cyberpunk 2077 (although I'm pretty close to a datacenter). My take on it is that marketing really, really failed to make it clear to people that it was free, you didn't have to pay for a subscription AND pay for games unless you wanted the pro experience (4k streaming). You could just open your browser and play a demo or free game in 10 seconds. On Ganker everyone was memeing about the subscription + cost of games and latency and it was painful that the messaging just didn't get out there. >Do you maybe know someone who worked at EA DICE?
...no

But and do you already have plans where to go, also continue in the software industry or rather switch to the gaming industry?
I say goodbye then, it's 00:30 AM for me.

I would like to join the gaming industry, but it's a competitive industry to begin with, and in the current job climate, getting a gameplay engineer role is tough. I get recommended a bunch of news articles about a new game studio laying off half its staff every week.. So I'm enjoying unemployment, lots of time for vidya. Sort of looking for a hobby project to join but those have all failed so far as well.

I remember there was an anon here in the game dev threads showing us his jet ski Tony Hawk with guns game who later revealed he signed some deal with Stadia
I wonder if anyone got to play his game
im glad stadia existed, Google's catastrophic failure shut the trendchasing FUUUTUUURE!!! gays up and killed any possibility of vidya streaming gaining mainstream attention for the next 10-20 years
Didn't it only have like 3?

>fricking Judgment and Lost Judgment were Stadia-gated for a long time until they got their actual PC releases late last year
they released on both playstation and xbox...
And? I don't play games on lockdown shitboxes where I have zero control over my settings
as opposed to the stadia?
how many years have you been on hrt fellow pc sis?
The game wouldn't have existed without the buyout money to begin with so your pathetic protest makes no difference.
then it shouldnt have existed in the first place. all the same to me.
Same with being limited time EGS exclusives.
stadia still exists????
Stadia is dead to begin with.
Stadia was over like 5 months ago, how can it be over again
t. I worked on Stadia
HI.
I have a question for you:
What area were you responsible for in the development of Stadia?
Do you also have a certain university degree and was it easy to get a job at Google?
How long was the Stadia project in development from the concept stage?
Sorry, but now there are a few more questions.
Can you tell me why Stadia didn't use a kind of hybrid option, i.e. a physical console connected to cloud gaming or even a very own gaming console like the XboX or PS?
Would be nice to get a reply from you, please
Ps: Sorry if I have to bother you late at night.
