>turn off vsync >throttle your GPU up to 600 FPS for no reason
If vsync drops your FPS to 30 then thats the most your monitor can display you idiot, thats what vsync does it syncs to your monitor rate.
>turn off vsync >put global framerate cap near your refresh rate in nvidia control panel >turn on gsync
WOOOOOOOOOOW DUDE HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW VSYNC ISNT NEEDED ANYMORE
I had an early 120hz monitor around 2010 and had to suck up screen tearing because gsync/freesync didn't exist. It's almost not noticeable above 80fps to be fair.
If I turned on vsync it felt like I was moving my mouse through jelly with the input lag.
listen here waltuh, you're not a bad guy, but i gotta keep the vsync on, else i can see the screen tearing. now shut the frick up and let my gpu die already
but my monitor's native refresh rate is 144
vsync drops framerate to 60
>Vsync bad because... because... BECAUSE IT JUST IS! OKAY???
enjoy your input lag
>turn off vsync
>throttle your GPU up to 600 FPS for no reason

based morons
Says the guy with a 30fps monitor.
What sort of shitty games are you playing that don't have a built in frame cap to prevent your graphics card from turning it into slag?
>turn off vsync
>put global framerate cap near your refresh rate in nvidia control panel
>turn on gsync
WOOOOOOOOOOW DUDE HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW VSYNC ISNT NEEDED ANYMORE
>Turns on VSync
>Dad storms in the room
>Slaps me across the face
>I sob and turn VSync off
>My dad: "That's right, no homosexuals in this house."
>innocently launch game
>temperature in the room raises 10 degrees and computer starts vibrating
Screen tearing is worse than 30 fps

>Turn off Vsync
>You are tearin' up my heart starts playing in the background
disabling vsync is pretty much meaningless if you're on windows and not using exclusive fullscreen mode
