I quite liked the original Hades, the "heats" and weapon aspects were fun challenges and unlockables and the game doesn't rely much on sound cues so I could listen to podcasts while playing.
I stopped after I beat a 35 heat run, which is the hardest challenge the game will actually recognize.

It's Hades, but 2. Big differences are that you have magic attacks, that are like super versions of your regular attacks, that can also get boons. You can also sprint after dashes by holding the dash button. You were moronic for not expecting another rougelite though.
Say you get Aphrodite Attack/LMB, you can't also get another Attack/LMB modifying skill. You get the 1 per ability, then passives that help around like movespeed or resource generation
the first year of it was on Epic Games Store exclusive, so pretty much nobody but the most dedicated fans were paying attention to that. then the early access hit Steam, and it felt a lot better as a package than when it first hit EGS. the 1.0 update felt more like a bonus as a result

It's the best supergiants game overall. Bastion and Transistor are top tier games. Pyre is pretty flawed for what it is while expanding the art style more

Hades 1 started out in 2018 and hit its 1.0 update in late 2020, but that was the whole team's first experience with early access. now that they have some experience under their belt, things should go a lot smoother. I believe them when they say that the full release can be in 2025

Hades 1 started out in 2018 and hit its 1.0 update in late 2020, but that was the whole team's first experience with early access. now that they have some experience under their belt, things should go a lot smoother. I believe them when they say that the full release can be in 2025
