I thought it was a tad easy, which I guess makes sense if it's just putting you through the first zone. I wound up only getting to play 5 runs because I won every run.
The starting staff is fricking absurdly busted compared to the dual blades as long as you can find anything that adds flat damage to the specials. Poseidon and Hecate both turn you into a DPS monster, even moreso if you can find a daedalus hammer and get double-shot.
So far Omega attacks seem fairly useless, the most I've gotten out of the omega/mana meter is the damage buff from it not being full.

I beat hades 100% maybe two years ago, and I was very dissapointed where the Dusa questline ends up.
I will not be giving Hades 2 any of my money entirely because of that. It's not even the character's fault, it was the voice actress who thought it was "creepy" for the protagonist to date the flying head; creepy because he has so much more authority and agency, which means there's a power imbalance.
I despise everything about that.

I was mad that she couldn't become an in-game onahole too but I'm not gonna let that stop me from enjoying another 100+ hour game. I fricking loved Hades, only stopped after beating 32 heat.
That said I am a little worried at how similar the powerful combinations seem to be. Got a fast attack? Find a flat damage blessing and you're broken. Got a slow but really strong attack? Find a % damage upgrade and go ham.
The dodging changes didn't trip me up much since you can pretty easily keep most enemies away with the free circle/B, but it makes me much more hesitant to use close combat. The sprint is strange, but the lightning and fire sprints were fun when I tried them.

Unironically I felt the chemistry between Zag and Than was a bit better than Dusa and Meg. They all get fleshed out well enough, but Zag and Thanatos just felt really natural and cute together. They transition from bros to lovers pretty smoothly.

it's a good game, not a good roguelike. The content is basically enough to get you through the story, but there aren't hundreds of hours of relatability like actual roguelikes. Fundamentally it's a story/action game first and a roguelike second. Absolutely nothing like isaac.

The general idea of selecting rooms and accruing permanent power ups is the same but Mel plays pretty differently from Zagreus. Her dash is much much slower but she can sprint by holding dash, her base cast is an AoE slow circle, and she has a mana meter and charged versions of each button that cost mana.
Sure it's a different moveset, but let's not kid ourselves. This doesn't warrant a whole new game. Think of it from a developer perspective real quick, do you really want to justify developing a new game from the ground up (not really but you catch my drift) just to put a new moveset and storyline in the game?
I really think it's a waste of their talent. Transistor and Bastion are among my favorite games and I was really happy for their success with Hades. But now they are getting comfortable in their success and will do everything but experiment... Shame tbh.
I think more people than you'd believe were into Hades not just for the gameplay but for the writing and super slow-burn worldbuilding.
