Maybe Melinoe becomes more interesting later on, but Zagreus with his "frick you dad" problems made me want to see how his story ended. Melinoe feels like she just has a few self-esteem/resolve issues, but it's not pushed enough to actually be a serious source of conflict for her.

Melinoe has the personality of a wet piece of cardboard and her relationship with her family is non existent so how badly she wants to save them comes off as forced and not genuine. And it's fricking weird that she has only ever mentions Hades but her mom and brother just don't exist anymore even they were main characters in the first game.
Eh, I like Melinoe, shes a LOT more reserved than Zag was but from what I've seen so far I like her drive to fulfil what she sees as her duty beyond all else while we still get looks at the somewhat more sheltered/curious kind of girl she really is behind all that, her interest in the gods and the histories of the people she's only heard grand stories about is cute. Also, I haven't played much of the game so far but I assume that as it goes on she'll open up a bit more, anyway.

Makes sense from a meta standpoint (they want people to be able to play this game without having played the first game if they don't want to, so they can't focus too much on Zag/the plot from the first game) and from a personal standpoint, at least I think so (Melinoe knows basically nothing about her family as this shit happened when she was a baby, Hades himself would be the one who has the biggest and most well known stories told about him, so it makes sense she's more focused on him rather than the others. Also fitting that she doesn't dwell on Persephone so much since for most of her life Hecate has basically been her mother figure anyway.)

I like roguelikes as much as the next patrician but I just couldn't bear all the hornyness of 1 and dropped it. I just pirated 2 and will give it a go, but judging from this thread it will have the same fate.
I never got to any of the romance stuff in Hades 1 and I beat the game with the true ending. I gave everybody at least one ambrosia and only got around to giving any one person like 3-4 of them at the most.
You either got to play the game for hundreds of hours or funnel all of the ambrosia you get into one character you really like and miss out on collecting all of the trinkets.

She's not literally just the goddess of flame, but moreso the goddess of hearth and home. By extension though, that puts her as a goddess who presides over fire a lot of the time, including generally just 'warmth' and things sacrificed to flames.

Eh, I like Melinoe, shes a LOT more reserved than Zag was but from what I've seen so far I like her drive to fulfil what she sees as her duty beyond all else while we still get looks at the somewhat more sheltered/curious kind of girl she really is behind all that, her interest in the gods and the histories of the people she's only heard grand stories about is cute. Also, I haven't played much of the game so far but I assume that as it goes on she'll open up a bit more, anyway.

Also fitting that she doesn't dwell on Persephone so much since for most of her life Hecate has basically been her mother figure anyway.)
