One thing that I love from this game that should be in every jrpg is the npc profile menu that gets updated as you talk with the npcs. I love this shit.
It's honestly really impressive how far the NPC dialogue goes sometimes. Like near the end of Zero when Dudley temporarily joins the party. He joins you inside a dungeon and conventional JRPG logic would have you assume that you're stuck in there, but actually you can just walk straight out and go back into town and an absolute ton of NPCs have totally new dialogue to react to Dudley, or he will butt in on existing conversions like blasting Randy for chatting up the hospital nurses while on duty.

I dont understand what your constant seething about FF is, been having tons of fun with FF12, 13-2 and 5. Cant play ff16 because no ps5, but I can see it being nice for steam deck.

It really is an underrated game. FF7R combat system is very fun, but I feel like a reworked FF13 one would be better

FF5 is very replayable, same as FF12. May replay it this year, I love Ashe
