Playing Gauntlet Dark Legacy and DoA3, always. Pretty muxh finished the Xbox collection outside a few really hard to find games I'd like, Spikeout in particular.
The original Xbox is such a fun console, especially woth friends. Can't wait for Insignia to launch.
Still working on my xbox collection, some recent pickups. There are a lot of games I want, really cool console
I also ordered Brute Force
My condolences.
waiting on parts to fix mine after accidently damaging the drive while trying to hotswap
get yourself an open xenium, really its so worth it for all the problems xboxes can get.
not confident enough in my soldering ability for that
finally arrived, after getting lost in the mail for a few days
>it's a Ganker thread
Not playing anything right now because of this insane heat but i played Conflict Desert Storm 1 and 2 recently. For years i thought they are just shitty socom clones but they were developed at the same time and actually i had a lot of fun playing them.
My friend swears by them, I have to try them. Isn't there also a vietnam one?
just morrowind right now. Its the only game i need
i have got around to modding it yet but i have halo on disk and my buddy and i played a bit recently together for the first time in over a decade. it was very nostalgic as we played a ton together as kids. there are so many great xbox games ive never tried though so think i might grab a new hdd soon and load it up
don't forget your eeprom anon
My Xbox coomlection. Early pandemic I got into ordering cheap games off eBay then playing them on either my old Xbox or the Xbox One backwards compat. Really comfy experience that backwards compatability, it works wonderfully. I wish Fable worked though since I don't like Anniversary and the PC version doesn't feature any kind of gamepad control.
I'm a big From Soft fan and I was honestly disappointed by Otogi when it came to backwards compat. It doesn't really shape up against their PS2 games or Demon's Souls. They really love making every single one of their games set in some kind of ruined, plague-ridden kingdom where you fight old kings who've gone mad.
Anyway, I'm done collecting I think. It would be nice to own Panzer Dragoon but it's just too expensive. Got it for like $5 on the Xbox store and it looks great in 1080p.
Get Burnout 3 and Outrun 2. I usually hate racing games but those two are super fun for some reason
wolffenstein
doa ultimate
genma
crazy taxi 3
mercenaris
buffy
solid choices
Tried to play Burnout 3 again after soft modding my xbox.
Would freeze on the loading screen. Managed to find a fix but then I also found out the save files are tied to the HDD key which was now changed.
Had to use some tool made just within the last few years to patch in my new key to my save file. Also made a backup of all my saves which I should have done already.
>time spent fixing: 1-2 hours
>time spent playing: 30 minutes
I love me some Burnout 3. Shame I never got to try it online with Xbox Live
you got your copy of burnout 3 from that hdd ready pack didn't you? It's a known bad dump.
Shit like this is why i make my own conversions from redump isos
Most resources are fine, and there's other copies of BO3 out there but it sure makes it frustrating when the most passed around image is a shit one. Also redump is annoying as frick for xbox because of all the dummy data.
Yep. I would have ripped my own copy of the game but my disc tray is fricked. Common on 1.6 drives frustratingly, one of the reasons I softmodded actually. Thankfully the fix was easy to apply once I found it, and was surprised to see my custom soundtracks were also transferred when I replaced my HDD.
>my disc tray is fricked
That's stupidly easy to fix, just put the rubber band in boiling water for a minute and it will work like new.
I'm intrigued. Is there an indepth moron proof guide?
Actually I should stress that it's not just the tray opening/closing. If I put any disc in it will either spit it out instantly or do nothing with it.
probably just dirty and needs to be relubed
CD trays have a way to tell if they are closed or not. The simple logic they run through tells them that if it takes 1.5 seconds max to close the tray and the "closed" switch isn't pressed then the tray must be jammed and to open again. Whatever mechanism indicates it's closed is likely fully of grease and dust and preventing the contact from closing.
It can also be the tray belt. If it's stretched out then it's not travelling the full distance.
The disc motor wouldn't spin up if it doesn't think the tray is closed all the way. However you'd get the same result if it was in fact the motor that was fricked too. Failure to spin up the disc would also result in the disc being ejected.
>What are you playing?
Nothing just yet. Plan on playing the Splinter Cell trilogy once I either get my Xbox set back up, or just playing it with my discs on 360/Xbone. Even though I bagged them up together for safekeeping, I somehow lost the large screws that I need to fully put my Xbox back together with somehow.
>Modding?
I'm going to give softmodding my Xbox another shot since I want to change the drive serial. Now that my PSP is up and working I'll use that since it supposedly is a 100% softmod method.
>Collecting?
I have my eyes set on some Xbox exclusives, but I'm not sure when or if I'll buy them. Really wishing I had a Steel Battalion set though.
