Any moving component will just die after being used for some time. Bearings and brushings wear out, lenses cloud up and deform, gaskets and seals dry, crack and crumble.
Only cartridge consoles are safe, and MGS is not on any of them.
My master system 2, mega drive, dreamcast, gamecube, PS2, both my PS3s and my PS4 all function perfectly. You just have to look after technology and it'll last a very long time. I've never had a console die on me or break in any significant way

There's several reasons for this warning and its not all to do with stuff about women or gays or whatever. I imagine some of the codec call in MGS1 and MGS3 about Russia might be a bit dodgy especially MGS1 as it talks about Ukraine and Russia in some of the calls with Natascha and nuclear weapons and so on.

There's several reasons for this warning and its not all to do with stuff about women or gays or whatever. I imagine some of the codec call in MGS1 and MGS3 about Russia might be a bit dodgy especially MGS1 as it talks about Ukraine and Russia in some of the calls with Natascha and nuclear weapons and so on.
Yeah, MGS was made in a time when war and nukes were seen as a bad thing, but the new narrative is that forever wars and nuclear winter are a good thing. Cannot have people question the current climate at all!
