Half-life 1 is way better than hl2
1 is for enjoyers of good gameplay, 2 is for cinematicgays and alyx is the best of the bunch

Obviously, honestly Hl2 is a pretty bad game especially in comparison to Hl1.
shilling half life... are we in 2005 ? even boomers forgot about this shit by now zoom zoom.
Hi Alf.
Oh how dare we discuss a game that didn't come out this month?
I forgot this was a zoomer board to share twitter screencaps.
remember, this is the brainless npc calling everyone a shill
>Half-life 1 is way better than hl2
has anyone in history ever argued otherwise? I didn't think this was remotely controversial
>has anyone in history ever argued otherwise?
are you serious
yes
All the morons who once called HL2 the best shooter/game ever, for one.
Replace alyx with opposing force and you’re right
HL2 > HL1 > Alyx
That's the official objective ranking, get it right.
Having said that, I do like HL, but boy the gunplay is just not great.
>Randyshit
Literal memespouting hivemind NPC
Opposing force is the only really good game Gearbox made
opposing force is literally a bunch of half life 1 maps poorly copied and stitched together with a handful of shitty ugly sections with terrible gameplay thrown in between
>.25 Gearbox Gearbux have been deposited in your account. Stay Bad-Ass!

They're all made by known scammers who commit false advertising and fraud. Who the frick cares?
Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.
HL2 has better gameplay. Most of HL1 is spent backtracking and platforming. You might shoot something every 15 minutes or so and the gunplay isn't anything better than Quake 2.
in HL1 there's a couple pretty egregiously terrible vent shafts and also the teleporter section but other than that I did not find the backtracking to be that bad
HL2 gunplay is SO MUCH worse than hl1 that it's not even fair to say hl1 doesn't have good gunplay in the comparison
HL2 has actual physics so the gunplay already feels 10x better. Enemies are less bullet spongy. The aliens have better ai and more attack patterns. There's variety of soldiers which combine together where as you're always only fighting one type of marine. Levels are bigger and let you move around more. Scenarios are better and the gravity gun allows for more player freedom and creativity than you could ever have with HL1 which is 99% standard point and shoot.
If it isn't backtracking and platforming it's running through empty space and vent crawling.
>If it isn't backtracking and platforming it's running through empty space and vent crawling.
you've not even played the game
No that sums up HL1 pretty well actually.
>If it isn't backtracking and platforming it's running through empty space and vent crawling.
This homies experience with hl1 is watching freemans mind lmao
physics are a gimmick for shitty puzzles and the gravity gun is only good for cheap 1shot kills
combine are boring enemies and less threatening than grunts
>aliens in hl2
what fricking aliens? antlions and headcrabs?
>Most of HL1 is spent backtracking and platforming
no it isn't
>Most of HL1 is spent backtracking
no it isn't
it happens at the start of the game because that's necessary to show how shit's hit the fan with the resonance cascade
then it happens once again in power up, but there's some more soldiers you fight on your way back up and it's a very short journey so it's a non-issue
that's literally all of the backtracking
unless you want to count blast pit, but that would be dumb
the point of having areas be interconnected like that is to create a sense of realism and scale
>2 is for cinematicgays
WOW so they made a sequel to Half Life?
What the frick is wrong with the kids ITT? Both games are great.
Get with the times loser, you can't enjoy both games anymore, you have to choose which one is good and which one is the worst thing ever.
HL1 is definitely a better game. HL2 feels like it wasn't even supposed to be a game, only a tech demo for Source.
Why are HL1 tryhards such raging homosexuals? You're game is 98% as cinematic as HL2 was. Shut the frick up. Did these zoomers ever play Quake 2 or Unreal? It makes HL1 look like a naughty dog movie game in comparison. There's a bigger discrepancy between every other 90's shooter and HL1, than there is between HL1 and HL2 which are borderline the same cinematic experience minus one 10 minute interlude at Black Mesa East which goes on for maybe 5 minutes too long. Wooopty doooo homosexuals. It's a sequel to Half Life. You didn't expect it push being cinematic? You're all moronic.
>quake 2
>unreal
two very boring games with shit level design
After the game begins HL1 is non-stop gameplay, are you being disingenuous on purpose? Do I have to remind you of the numerous UNSKIPPABLE cutscenes in 2?
Like people aren't being completely disingenuous themselves saying HL2 is mostly standing in rooms during unskippable cutscenes? It's at least a 12+ hour game on first playthroughs, longer than the first, and MAYBE 2% of that time is just standing around listening to people talk but if you only got your information from Ganker you'd think that's all the game is. If you've played FEAR there's more total time in Alma sections than however much you spend during HL2's "cutscenes." HL1 has its own unskippable cutscenes like being caught and dragged to the compactor or when you arrive at Lambda and have to listen to the scientist talk and open the door for you. Just the tram ride alone is longer than many of 2's scenes put together. There's also times you have to escort scientists and security to locked doors for them to open for you. Slowly following behind some guy taking his time trotting along to a locked door is borderline the same amount of time spent in 99% of HL2's "cutscenes." And if we're just gonna never conveniently count everything from the beginning of HL1 up to after the resonance cascade than we'll just start HL2 after Kliener's lab when you get your crowbar. There! That's most of HL2's "cutscenes" cut right there.
>B-but Black Mesa East it's so LOOONG...
Yeah maybe 5 minutes too long and it comes after hours and hours of gameplay getting there, and the rest of the game afterward is 99% gameplay. It's a mostly non-issue for anyone not completely ADHD moronic with the brain of a 12 year old.
People that defend HL2 are so fricking moronic
