Because I'm one of those Zoombers who play the Orange box because I wanted to play TF2 on my 360 back in the days. So I checked out HL2 and I was blown away of the graphics that looked so real.
hard aliens are perfectly balanced, hard HECU are fine but might feel a bit too pathetic or a bit too strong depending on the environment they're in, and hard assassins are infuriating (but acceptable because they're basically a one-off boss fight)
>morons on Ganker incapable of not having a console war attitude on literally everything >if moron likes one thing he must hate other. No possibility of liking two things at the same time
Must be exhausting to have this mentality all the time.
The whole has so many moments that are fun. Hell the fricking alien made me laugh or the laser bombs in that basement with FRICKING ARM BOMBS. Too many crazy things in a level.
Why are you here then? Half life takes like 2 hours to finish so you're either paused in the main menu you arent enjoying the game or your attention span is akin to a wet sponge
I think half life 2 is the better game, but I enjoy replaying HL1 a lot more. hl2 just has a lot of stuff that doesn't hit the same way after the first playthrough
which scenario is more nightmarish? >being on the receiving end of an alien invasion/military cover-up which results in the military having to withdraw >living in bulgaria
HL2 has a comfiness to it that I just inherently prefer over 1. This isn't even a "you played hl2 first so you like it more for nostalgia" thing since HL1 was my first shooter back in the day. There's something just really calming about playing highway 17 and stopping at little houses along the way.
the HECU was more fun to fight than the combine but all of the alien-oriented areas and segments were pretty weak.
Nobody cares ESL
Why would you have played 2 before 1?

there's a case to be made but xen is worse than anything in 2, both great
I think hard is poorly balanced and medium is way too easy.

Not all heroes wear HEV suits
Nice try randy, you greasy son of a b***h
Which one?
MP5 or Colt M727?
I always liked the HD Rifle, with 50 rounds it felt like those rifles from Starship Troopers.
I fricking hate the HD models they clash with the low poly environments but that being said they oddly fit on the PS2 port

Who said I hate HL2?
HL2 is great too but the driving sections take too long and the bug call weapon becomes useless for most of the game.
they're autistic. They must always place one thing on top of another or they seethe about it
practice what you preach homie
/v/irgins need to take a cue from this guy and just mass-reply with "You can like both," "you don't have to choose," etc.
1 and 2 are vastly different in terms of pace alone, if you play them both then you're inevitably going to prefer one over the other.
No way this level had to be this long. So many things happen in this ONE level.
Surface tension is the best chapter so they must've done things right

I'm in "Forget about Freeman" too much deaths and checking on youtube for secrets that I missed.
>Almost finish
ay there's the rub.

Nice, it probably is. I really like the storytelling in 2 though, and it's great anyway. Commendable that you didn't just go with Black Mesa.
>not playing black mesa
dumbass
How's the Xen level?
which scenario is more nightmarish?
>being on the receiving end of an alien invasion/military cover-up which results in the military having to withdraw
>living in bulgaria
It is better than 2.

Everyone always shits on Route Kanal and Water Hazard but I love them for the same reason
Same, but I prefer Smod to both.
