The same problem Halo has had for years now - 343 is moronic and can't make a good video game.
Whether people like to admit it or not they need a carrot on a stick to keep them playing.
I've noticed this too. Most complaints about games these days have nothing to do with the gameplay but are things like "not enough content" or "battle pass progress isn't fast enough". What does not enough content even mean? Do people forget that in Halo CE we pretty much just played Blood Gulch with pistols and ignored the rest of the "content" in that game
Halo Infinite plays ok, sure, but if they are offering seasons and all that shit then it needs to be good. As it is Infinite has the worst battle pass and multiplayer progression I’ve seen in a game. And the content that is there is really sparse in terms of maps and shit.
And the single player makes a good first impression but it is REALLY uneven and the story is horrible. Once you’re done you also don’t have forge or co-op to entertain yourself because 343 cut them at launch and then delayed their release.
So yea overall it’s just a shit package and not up to standards of modern FPS (such that they are) or even prior Halo. Say what you will about 4 or 5 they were much more complete packages.
>Make Battle Pass faster.
>Make Battle Pass longer.
They wouldn't even notice.
I suppose the map amount is fair enough, but its not like people played EVERY CE map or anything.
Games fine I think, but I only play it maybe once a week and don't make it my identity or anything.
The base gameplay is serviceable and probably the best 343 has done so far for any fps Halo hey made. The main problem is almost all the maps are simple 3 lane shit so you have the exact same choices for how to move around the area and where to try to control across most game modes.
>The problem with the maps is they used a design theory instead of slapping shit against a wall
But we both know you're just regurgitating something you've read elsewhere instead of thinking
Every map at launch was a 3 lane map. They weren’t circles like most of 5s 4v4 maps so it was an improvement. But it doesn’t change the fact that every game is about controlling two corners and the center point to control the power weapon spawns.
There’s nothing like Ascension, Hang ‘em high, etc that breaks the formula.
So you have no argument besides being mad more than one person realized the same thing.
The Desync is horrendus and makes it pretty unplayable. You can jump off a ledge to a bridge, land, walk down the bridge then die to fall damage because you desync'd and it read you as falling into the abyss. Also players phasing through each other, making melee fights turn into someone punching you in the back from inside you, and the desync makes that worse, as well as gets you to die after a gunfight because you took more damage on the server end then on the player end
I go tired of the connection problems and blocked the overseas servers and enjoyed good connections from my area. Then the update that added the 2 new maps made it so I was banned from playing online for blocking the overseas servers. I uninstalled it and haven't touched the game since.
>You can jump off a ledge to a bridge, land, walk down the bridge then die to fall damage because you desync'd and it read you as falling into the abyss.
What the frick? I have never seen this happen in all the time I've played the game.
Get a 100+ ping match and you'll see it if you're particularly unlucky with who gets chosen as host.
a lot of people don't even play games for fun, they prefer the meaningless tasks associated with them
you could see this in action with achievement whoring
>have nothing to do with the gameplay but are things like "not enough content"
343 shill spotted. content IS gameplay.
this is the long and the short of it. now only a few rabid fanboys and probably trolls are left pretending they like it.
>>Most complaints about games these days have nothing to do with the gameplay but are things like "not enough content"
An actual moron, holyshit. If a game has no content, what else could it have? Let players walking and running till the end of its lifespan?
Infinite has less maps than Halo 2 had.
It's gotten 2 maps in 10 months. This is a "live service" game by the way
gameplay is not good enought to just for fun but not bad enought for average person to understand what is wrong
shittines is subtle like random weapons and vehicles
also battle pass is shoved into your face after every match since there are no lobbies
*gameplay is not good enought to just play for fun
also all the battlepass criticism is valid
just fricking drop it
it only exists because halo 5 earned shitton of monet from microtransactions
If you can't release a game in 2021 with at least as much content as a game released in 2007, then I don't want to play your game.
No. If a game is fun enough people will play for the game itself. Halo Infinite isn't fun enough.
For me? The load times pushed me away. Really enjoyed the gameplay, customization is whatever but not being able to pick my colors like usual was the big gay. But spending 5 minutes to load into the game, a minute to load into a match, a minute load out of a match, all on console. Frick that man.
>It had so much goodwill at launch.
You mean shills, 343 had tons of them in the beginning. The shill budget ran out quick, and Halo sucks ass.
The "goodwill" was generated entirely by people who dropped this franchise after 3 and haven't been around to experience just how deep 343 had ran this franchise into the ground.
They expected another Halo 3 because they literally didn't know how bad things really were.
Anyone that actually was around for 343 games knew Infinite had 0 chance of being good.
Happens to literally every game nowadays, ask Elden Ring
I think because it is not like before, that you did not have as much variety of games and the great games, which were few, were recognized and remembered much more.
people are busy playing other games
normal, sane people can only fall for shill copium for so long. the "patches" and "updates" that make it worth playing never came. if you pretend there's a big update around the corner, rapid, iterative development going on at the developer, you can keep stringing normies along for a few weeks or even months but nobody will believe that shit if you exceed a certain time frame. you can't pull the same stunt twice or more times, at least not on the same unfinished, contentless game.
Is the coop campaign any good?
>343
>goodwill
The entire studio was founded on corporate mandate and cynicism, there is no goodwill in any of their games.
>doesn't launch with any content
>broken promises on updates
>shit breaking and taking forever to fix it
>game hasn't had any major updates for a long time
>in-game store fricking sucks
>etc.
343i might be the most incompetent AAA developer out there next to DICE and Blizzard.
The store update today has Cortana doing the feminist riveter Rosie pose
More people are playing retro Halo because those were actually good.
The real problem is the aim assist for controller. You literally cannot escape controller if they are facing you. You're fricking dead. Every bullet will hit you no matter how hard you strafe or jump or attempt to dodge. It will track you. Even if their cursor isn't even on you it will magnetise to your head. It's literally broken.
yup, this is what ultimately made me drop the game. Was hardstuck diamond 3 and consistently lost nearly every BR duel even when I got the drop on people. I plugged in a controller to see just how bad it was and immediately performed way better despite not using one for a shooter in nearly a decade. It's absolutely ABSURD and the trash netcode compounds the issue with no-regs and being shot around corners
they needed to up the graphics to pull people in. ever since call of duty 4 mogged them in the graphics department, they havent been the same since.
i always remember back then they always bragged about how many polygons they used then cod shitted on them with graphics and 60 fps
Nothing happened it's the same at launch. Everyone just has ADHD now and has moved onto other games. It's the current gaming landscape of pump and dump.
