As always, the only things that kill the top dogs are themselves
The WoW Killer is WoW
The Overwatch Killer is Overwatch
The Pokemon Killer will be/is Pokemon
The Fortnite Killer will be Fortnite
>The Fortnite Killer will be Fortnite
fortnite was already killed by fortnite
I will never forget being the only person I knew that was hyped for fortnite for like 5 years because it was basically gears horde mode as a whole game
Then the real fortnite never even got finished
False. OW and TF2 offer completely different gameplay. OW devs are so moronic they killed their game twice. Those fricks couldn't balance a game to save their life.
Overwatch was never a top dog. It is, was and always will be an inferior experience to TF2.
>TF2 troons seething about Overwatch
Its hilarious how badly Overwatch mindbroke tf2trannies.
Overwatch absolutely BTFOd tf2 and still does. And OW is a fricking piece of shit game.
they shit out the content they have for S4, wrap up S5 (should be finished production wise by late july based on current rates?) then they announce they're "winding down the big marketed releases, but still intend to support this game for years to come!" and then pull everyone but a skeleton crew off it, just to fix exploits, bugs, and other shit like that, then it just ends up like MCC.
>so what comes next?
Consume next product.
You no longer will be scammed out of money, I know you see no upside paypig, but games are meant to be finished so hopefully better are made
Most likely 343 is just gonna do seasonal updates for a year or two and drop updates to start working on something else, in the meantime that Halo Battle Royale will release next year while Microsoft allows other studios to start making Halo games.
Destiny is a whale making scheme and this piece of trash filled with homosexualry calling itself Marathon will be more of the same.
Popular video games aren't for people looking for fun anymore, they're for social and gambling addicts.
At least it was something. Banished AI trying to attack Agryna's spartan academy? ONI secrets? Seemed kind of cool. But I guess people want more Master Chief and Weapon on zeta halo instead.
Why the frick did they try to contextualize multiplayer in the first place? Why does it have to be portrayed as training exercises, why cant it just be multiplayer for the sake of it?
>Why the frick did they try to contextualize multiplayer in the first place?
It's even more confusing when you remember that Halo 4 did the exact same thing. It's MP was training exercises for (you) as a character to then go into Spartan Ops with, no one gave a shit in 2012-13 why the frick would they give a shit about it in 2021-23?
>Why the frick did they try to contextualize multiplayer in the first place?
It's an annoying trend of developers thinking they're clever. Like how Borderlands and Souls giving death/respawning a canon explanation. It's moronic.
>Why the frick did they try to contextualize multiplayer in the first place
Part of the live service trend. All these companies want to make it seem like their season passes aren't just half-assed $15 cosmetic packs (that you have to play to unlock stuff after buying). It seemed to have started with CoD and Warzone where each season pass was tied into the multiplayer story.
I think both fortnite and destiny were doing seasonal story attached to passes you paid 8-20$ for before cod
I didnt even know cod multiplayer did that
Halo 4 also tried this in spartan ops
To reinforce engagement. Now that there's story context in the multiplayer stuff you're playing and there's more to come in the next season, people are hooked much more easily and could spend more.
>To reinforce engagement
An extremely small portion of people care about that fricking shit and they're all low IQ.
Imagine giving a shit about Overshit and Gaped Ass Legends Lore and story.

Because Bungie were so moronic and they didn't know how to balance dual wielding. Nerfing the damage output was a mistake and how many of those weapon spawn in the map.

The SMG inherently did half as much damage as the AR. The whole mechanic was only in service of making Halo 2's box art look cooler.
That's one of the most baffling things about infinite.
They unironically could have done the laziest shit possible.
-no new maps. Only remakes
-no new weapons, only returning ones
-no new gametypes,
- same goes with armor and the armor equip system
But they spent more effort, time and money to make nearly all of it worse.
The gun play and graphics are the only improvements I can give credit for
At least on mcc I can only play against xbox users with a controller. No input and platform based filters on all modes means I’ll never touch infinite again.
Infinite is such a fascinatingly mismanaged game.
The shooty shoot part of the game is pretty solid but every other aspect is shit.
Does it have Forge World yet?
>Does it have Forge World yet?
Forge is at the point you don't need World as a canvas at all anymore, but Skybox Lab has been making Forge since MCC so any successes/failures with it are on Skybox not 343 and there has not been many failures.
>Infinite is such a fascinatingly mismanaged game. >The shooty shoot part of the game is pretty solid but every other aspect is shit.
A similar thread from a day or two ago made me reflect on the coating system 343 tried to pull on people, and how they totally could have gotten away with it if they weren't so inept, I copy/pasted myself here.
I sometimes think how the coating plan would have gone down if 343 just included a slightly better color selection tool for free. Seriously, just think about it, if 343 included the standard armor colour system every other game had, made it *slightly* better while still free and then included coatings as a 'premium' option they would of had a large population of players happy and possibly even defending them for it. All they had to do was not charge $5 for red, but charge $5 for white spartan with red arms.
It's actually infuriating how stupid 343 are, they can't even do evil monetization well.
They could've easily done different finishes >how about a chrome finish >what about a rust patina finish >rubberized textured >tons of camo patterns
How about more creative stuff like >a finish that changes color based on how many kills you have >or health >or pattern that changes based on what team you're on, so you can have the classic red and blue, frick it, it doesn't matter
They could've easily fricking milked it but they're too goddamn moronic, it's insane. It's like money on the table ready to be taken but they accidentally tied their shoes together and fell over.

Just to add onto this someone made a coating system that let's you pick colors and textures
custom games are all I play
You get no bp xp though :/
less of a reason to spend money
The forge lets creators do cool shit, but I still dont soo steam workshop mcc quality
Theres no new weapons or tools, no mod that lets pc players or elite controller players have more than 1 ability equipped (I fricking hate direct input). The game would be more fun if some modes like campaign or a round based mode let players have q e x and v abilities on cooldown like valorant and that grappling hook needs a mod for no cooldown + long distance
Money is the problem.
Give 20 people $2,000,000 and they can make something incredible.
Give 500 people $500,000,000 and it'll get mismanaged into nothingness.
This is the same reason why we can't solve world hunger despite having the resources to do so.
halo hasn't been the flagship since the keys were handed over to 343. There was a total sea change in what the industry and consumers considered flagships and halo just got left behind. Can't complain about 10 years at the top.
the MP for infinite was meant to have it's own storyline unfold during it's seasons primarily via cutscenes, all it amount to across Season 2 to 4 was narratively justifying why Infection is a gamemode now.
I don’t think people appreciate that just about the entire management of 343 was gutted like 9 months ago and the new people in charge have been stripping out the shit they don’t care about from the plans put in place by the old team. An ongoing multiplayer story sounds like a Frank O’Connor thing and now that he’s out they can ditch it and put that money towards actual stuff for the game.
343 isn't healing, it's decomposing. Feel free to celebrate all those idiots leaving, but acknowledge that Microsoft is on a hiring freeze and the people being made to fill those positions are inexperienced subordinates who don't know what they're doing. 343i is the Titanic, and Microsoft is just trying to keep the ship afloat until the Activision deal goes through and they can let Halo sink for good.
The only connection I still retain with this garbage is me getting a notification on Steam that they added a new LGBT or BLM cosmetic... are they trying to make up for Halo being one of the most toxic communities in the 2000s or something?
I wouldn't even say Halo killed itself, 343 just never made a Halo at all.
Think about back during the mid to late 00s/early 10s, you could easily find CoD clones on the market, Homefront is a competent clone right off the top of my head. Now think of Halo clones, no Haze doesn't count it doesn't play like Halo, no Killzone doesn't count it doesn't play like Halo either, any game with a 2 weapon limit or regen health isn't a clone either as most of those games took those mechanics without understanding why it was implemented to begin with. There was never a Halo clone on the market while Bungie existed, nothing could emulate the physics, the vehicles, the sandbox etc etc, any "Halo killers" back in the day were just vaguely sci-fi shooters. Enter 343, a dev studio who was formed to make Halo, cultivating developers from studios who never made / understood / successfully replicated Halo, and they ended on the default setting, Call of Halo. Repeat again for Halo 5 but now they're doing ""advanced movement"" shooters of the time. Repeat again for Infinite and their doing the open world attempt.
No one has ever actually clone Halo. Treyarch cloned CoD so well on their first attempt with CoD 3 that by their second and third game they were equal to Infinity Ward, 343 are 4 games deep and they are disasters.
Shit Bungie made before Halo >Operation: Desert Storm >Minotaur: The Labyrinth of Crete >Pathways into Darkness >Marathon >Marathon 2: Durandal >Marathon Infinity >Myth: The Fallen Lords >Myth II: Soulblighter >Oni
Shit 343i made before Halo 4 >worked on some Halo Reach DLC maps >343i headed by some random MS b***h and the bald forum jannie who joined Bungie after Halo 2: "We're going to make OUR version of Halo!"
lmao, the hubris of it all
I just want Chief to wake up on the Dawn again as if Frank’s fan fiction never happened, bros.
How did one man have such cosmically shit taste and then end up in charge
343 is healing.
>Shit 343i made before Halo 4 >worked on some Halo Reach DLC maps
Wrong.
MS outsourced Halo PC to Gearbox
MS outsourced Halo 2 Vista to Hired Gun
343 outsourced CEA and H2A to Saber Interactive
343 outsourced terminals in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary to Sequence
343 outsourced Reach DLC maps (Defiant Map Pack/Anniversary Map Pack) and Halo 4 DLC maps to Certain Affinity (Former multiplayer, online, and UX design lead for Halo 2 and Halo 3)
343 (and every Microshit owned studio as it is their mandate) outsources almost all of their work. The Halo Shitfinite credits has a huge list of Indian and Chinese names. Only the management and few core people are actually permanent at 343. Ironically these people lie publicly about their 'priority zero' and how the employee health is the most important thing in the world for them but truth is, if they really cared about it they wouldn't outsource most of the work to 3rd world countries with no human rights. 343 is shit and has always been. They ignore their only job they are supposed to be doing: their game. They have literally 0 other projects than the halo infinite and yet they struggle more than a small indie studio with five guys. Frick these homosexuals and frick the western AAA games too.
>>343 outsourced Reach DLC maps (Defiant Map Pack/Anniversary Map Pack) and Halo 4 DLC maps to Certain Affinity (Former multiplayer, online, and UX design lead for Halo 2 and Halo 3)
so the multiplayer we liked wasnt even bungo? Did CA refuse to do halo reach wultiplayer because there was a huge difference in feel for reach that didnt feel like halo to me as a kid
>so the multiplayer we liked wasnt even bungo? Did CA refuse to do halo reach wultiplayer because there was a huge difference in feel for reach that didnt feel like halo to me as a kid
Max Hoberman designed Halo 2/3's maps and multiplayer. He didn't work on Reach's base maps. That's why the maps were just direct rips of campaign levels.
Sage Merrill became Gameplay Design Lead for Reach/Destiny
>“We learned a hard lesson,” Lehto admitted. “We tried to carve out campaign sections that we would dedicate to wall off as a multiplayer map. That worked with some success, but we felt the stresses of each one of the modes really fighting with one another in the midst of those missions. In hindsight, we should have carved out the multiplayer maps as their own thing. Using the same visual palettes as the single-player missions, but then allowing for complete freedom to do what we wanted with those maps.”
Jaime Griesemer left Bungie after Sage happened (lol remember when everyone blamed him back then)
Speaking of CA and Max Hoberman, is this Tatanka thing ever going to release? It's not dead, they had job listings open for Halo on their website earlier this year.

after skimming that article for a few minute, I have gained insight that gameinformer used to be decent and their writers have dropped in quality (or maybe editors want the smut nothingburger article written that way)
>Treyarch cloned CoD so well on their first attempt with CoD 3 >Terrible story >Terrible mechanics >Not using ID Tech for the engine >Class Based Multiplayer with vehicles
Yeah dude, they emulated early cod so well.
Has any studio ever dropped the ball harder than 343 did with Halo? Halo launches were once major media events and the game was grossing way more than movies at the time. How did 343 take a property that was almost guaranteed to make money, and run it to the ground so hard?
Pretty much past a certain point, I'd say for a lot of companies, not just 343 and Microsoft it was between 2012-2016, all the talent just left/retired/died off in the gaming industry and no one really passed on the torch and nobody in tech wants to work in the gaming industry because they think it's a miserable slog when they can just do literally anything else that requires less time and effort and the pay is infinitely better, mix this with corporate suit culture getting worse and CEOs and higher ups becoming more and more unhinged over the years and it's just been a complete disaster for the industry. I honestly expect that by 2030 I expect Xbox and Activision Blizzard to be almost completely gone and Nintendo and Sony just barely hanging on will be the only major companies still left making somewhat decent games more so with Nintendo.
AAA is dead, that much is for certain
It's been nothing but flop after flop with little to no monetary gain, even with whales.
It's why they're selling themselves to the highest bidder.
In the spawn of a few months we saw FIFA, Halo and Battlefield die.
Billion dollar IPs that raked in a shitton of money, completely mismanaged into becoming nothing.
>They lost LigaMX so Mexicans aren't interested any more. >Lost the literal title of the name because the FIFA wanted more money, now it's called EA SPORTS FC >Pushing for female football teams is driving people away
That's the stuff that bothers me personally, but maybe there's more to it

Even COD is going the way of Halo
Unfortunately I can agree. The thing is if you notice they outsource heavily to places like China, India, South Korea because the talent is gone and also its cheaper to have a game come back apologize for its bad state and go back in with a skeleton crew to fix it than to pay a good salary to hardworking domestic talent. The AAA industry outside of a few giants is pretty much dying slowly. I would say this is the best time to support Indies and AA Middleware companies if at all possible and also Open Source Engines like GodotEngine to help things heal quicker in the Gaming sphere overall.
I will never ever ever EVER understand this logic. I absolutely believe you won't improve anything if you don't have proper constructive criticism, but actively hiring people who hate what you're making. I will never understand why you want to, and are allowed to, actively sabotage your work. I just simply cannot understand how it's allowed. If I was the head of something like this and I found out one of my bosses was doing shit like this, I'd fricking fire that person and find somebody better.
You have to understand It’s how they’re programmed in leftist schools now: you put your foot through the base of the Lego castle and by hubris you construct it back up with “your” knowledge of castle-building, which is what you’ve vaguely observed someone else do, a long time ago, and you hated it.
See, it’s “better” now…
It's the same kind of people writing Nu-Star Trek shows, they hate how perfect the federation/main authority is because 'authority bad!' despite the fact that it's always been much more nuanced than that
>infection added
Maybe next season we'll get Firefight of some kind and then we can actually say Infinite shipped
Comical how badly they flopped, this F R E E multiplayer released at almost 300k players and was primed to crush the shitty Battlefield and lackluster COD at the time
And they fricked it up
Frick that stupid stubborn broad. Bonnie Ross was the reason why 343 was immediately dogshit.
Bonnie Ross should be publicly lynched, the entire 343 staff should aswell
This people forget she saw Halo as entertainment ip so instead of meaning more shit like Halo legends or more books we got Foward Unto Dawn, Spartan Ops withs it's moronic cutscenes and story (finished off in a comic lol), and the Halo TV show
>she saw Halo as entertainment ip
This right here is what kills most series.
Trying to go from a game with some expanded lore to "TOTALLY NOT THE MCU BUT SOMEHOW EVEN GAYER" just results in you stretching the existing fictional world you have way to thin and turns 90% of your lore into incoherent asspulling to justify the god awful writing you came up with.
No lol this b***h helped mismanage this franchise into the ground no atiru direction interesting ideas killed off screen or 180 on anything cool and interesting like Didact or the mantis
business is funny man, like how does this shit even happen? how can halo be so well liked by so many people but microsoft can't find people smart enough and talented enough to continue it
Well they are part of the problem, as I understand it MS Game Studios are the ones making all the decisions and one big issue is that most 343i are temporal hires with contracts lasting no more than 18 months and for multi-year productions it means teams rotate constantly with new hires having no clue on how to proceed.
Nepotism, shit pipelines and management that are byproducts of megacorps, complete lack of leadership, outsourcing everything.
The people who worked on these games who were rushed to hell and back, are already gone so Microsoft doesn't have to pay them company benefits or higher wages.
And the AAA cycle continues until it's no longer sustainable, which has stopped being a long time ago.
It's fricking over for AAA, even indieshits are eating into their market share now.
I find it incredible how Arkane and 343i just simply failed even with all the money and support they had.
I guess money really can't buy competency, Matt Booty should get the booty for being such a complacent moron with these studios.
Microshit would continue to pump them out regardless.
Halo 4 still printed money despite being dogshit and Halo 5 did alright considering how pathetically low the number of Xboner users were.
It's AAA anon, these bloated frickhuge multinational companies will take 2 months and 20K dollars just to make 10 second teaser trailer consisting solely of footage taken directly from the game.
>full 1 to 1 remake of CE
You don't know do you the made Halo CE remastered they tried to copy Reach for the designs and ruined the atmosphere of the flood levels completely and the desert mesa that misson 3 takes place on isn't a desert now lol only pillar of autumn actually looks good in the remakes
Good. The best thing 343 can do for Halo is to stop making garbage unbalance map like Oasis ( one side have one jump pad from the Wasp spawn and better position hold and gain map control, while the other side is completely frick by being further away from power weapon and vehicle ) and just focus on picking community made map that have the highest rating, and add them into the matchmaking rotation. 343 have proven time and time again that they are absolutely incompetent by trying force their “Vision” of the Halo franchised. Just give the community tool and they rebuild this franchise themselves.
List of things 343's obsession with making the multiplayer "canon" has ruined or been thrown into the void.
-armor customation through armor cores and making all armor variants fit into LORE. Same with emblem customization.
-weapon customization, MCC has covenant weapons with skins. But since infinites multiplayers is chained to being a Canon thing don't expect this soon
-elites as playable. This honestly should have been a main stay feature but again "muh elite canon sizes no work"
- a.i voices
In reach you could have almost anyone be a voice, cortana, chief, Sargent Johnson. But in infinite you get...like 4. None are legacy characters. The only out there one being cheef.
-game modes
Invasion will never come back
Griftball they will add in like season 10 when the life cycle of the game is almost up and they run out of things to add.
How much you wanna bet the AI stuff is hardwired into infection tomorrow and can't be changed in custom settings?
-weapon sandbox
Because prometians and covenant don't have as much impact in the story, we don't get main stays like
Regular carbine
Plasma rifle
Fuel rod
Brute shot
Etc.
And any prometian weapon because...canon. that's not even mentioning weapons that could work within the canon they want to follow but are missing anyway like spartan laser, regular shotgun, DMR, SMG, grenade launcher.
I hope this decision is part of a larger push internally to prioritize content and having an actual game over making a narrative that a fraction of a fraction of the player base cares about.
what time does official infected release? I like the variety of customs esp that have wea.on spawns and spartan abilies like dash and smoke for infected but I want the easy map rotation of matchmaking and honesty maybe a good bot zombie infected mode where we can have buildable defenses and upgrades and some covenant enemies like a real horde mode
>we wont have assassination's at launch >implying they are coming at some point >fast-forward to today >Yeah so the animation rigs weren't built with assassinations in mind so we wont be doing assassinations >implying they were never planning on adding assassinations
I've hardly played since it came out. I mainly play 2042 which came out around the same time and it was shitted big time by launch Infinite fans that have been quiet ever since then.
Does the game have a progression system worth a shit yet?
I feel like if this was me making these kind of decisions I would be fired on the spot, but they just keep going. Why is that exactly? What are these people working on and WHY are they being paid a single dollar if everything gets cancelled?
I miss Halo and I miss being happy. It's been years since I was last genuinely happy.
I can't recall ever seeing a more incompetent company than 343 given their resources.
>after scamming their players with FOMO skins they switch to cost reduced direct purchase to milk the dregs >advertising infection like adding a popular Halo 2 custom game years after launch is a success >can't even manage making cutscenes for some dog shit MP story no one cares about
seriously just terminate the company, it's over, the rats all left the ship anyway
343 allowing bundles to be bought whenever and not letting people wait for the store is the most miniscule win for the consumer but it's also an admission that the store is not doing it's job of FOMO and they need more money to fund future seasons of the game. They said on a livestream that is, how seasons are funded. Think about it for a second, a joke cat ear cosmetic may be single handedly funding future Halo seasons.
>We arrive at the new Spartan training facility. >Nothing happens. >Some time later two lone wolves show up carrying a Banished AI. >We play Multi-player to draw out the AI and trap it.(???) >Then it finds a secret ONI facility conveniently underground.(???) >The AI takes control and starts infecting other Spartans. >THE END.
I'm pretty hyped for Infection if I'm being honest. I like the more social chill modes and not the sweat fest that the majority of playlists seem to be...
Im still stuck on back right after launch when there was only like 3 playlists (Quick play, TDM, and BTB) and BTB was literally broken and unplayable for a fricking month
Has any studio ever dropped the ball harder than 343 did with Halo? Halo launches were once major media events and the game was grossing way more than movies at the time. How did 343 take a property that was almost guaranteed to make money, and run it to the ground so hard?
glad they are outsourcing Halo to other hopeful more capable companies. Its just beyond dead if they leave it with 343
343
>Frankie: Most of the books for the last two years have dealt with building backstory for Halo 4, rather than fixing canonical errors or mismatches. We've bought ourselves a little bit of latitude with the terminals in previous Halo games. We knew that the fiction was going to evolve when we were writing the terminals for Halo 3.
>“Every novel that you’ve read in the last couple of years, every comic book, the Terminals in Halo Anniversary […] everything is feeding directly into the story for the next Halo trilogy.” [Frank O’Connor, Halo Fest 2011 – Halo 4 Panel (2:50)]
5 minutes into Halo 4
>ruined MK VI design, shows a flashback of Spartan IIs wearing it instead of MK IV >ONI suddenly pretending like Dr. Halsey was acting independently, and not a civilian they hired and funded every step of the way >Chief says "I thought we had a truce with the Covenant" because 343i didn't understand that Elites left the Covenant in Halo 2 >later, the Storm Covenant kneel to a living Forerunner even though their entire religion is predicated on all Forerunners ascending to Godhood, and anyone left behind in this shitty reality is a heretical demon (this is why Truth is shitting on Johnson for his ancestors leaving him behind when they became Gods at the end of H3, back when there were good writers trying to limit Frank O'Connors damage)
Old halo: What Halsey did was brutal but ultimately necessary. A metaphor for the Spartans of ancient Greek weeding out their infirm young.
New halo: Halsey was bad and wrong. She was badong. That's why the valient ONI needs to hunt her down and bring her to justice for the project she completed with funding, staff, and the approval of ONI.
It cannot be stated how absolutely soul-crushingly awful Halo 4's launch was back in the day
>Halo CEA and H4 revealed at E3 2011 >April 2012 Game Informer reveals first details about Halo 4's multiplayer and it's so bad everyone thinks it's actually a joke. >Less content than Reach >Loadouts, perks, universal sprint, Infinity Slayer with weapon drops and no weapons on map >No asymmetric gametypes, but no symmetrical maps >The only symmetrical maps in the game are Haven and the Pit remake that's released over a year after launch >Perks are either meaningless or stupidly broken >DMR dominates the meta because of reduced bloom and the launch BR taking 5 shots to kill >Gametypes include: >Infinity Slayer: Get kills to earn drops of completely random weapons meant to emulate killstreaks >Dominion: Territories >Extraction: Assault that no one understands and AFAIK never appeared in Halo 4 matchmaking until the MCC's overhaul in 2019 >Regicide: Juggernaut but not really >Oddball: The same as always but with ball throwing, the only good mechanic in all of Halo 4. >Sprint ruined Map and weapon design.
Spartan Ops replacing firefight, every new gamemode being awful except for Ricochet, which is the best gametype in the entire franchise stuck in the worst game. The MCC version that you can play now is absolutely NOTHING like how the game played from 2012-2013
https://www.halopedia.org/Halo_4_Title_Updates
>Turbo Update >4 had some pretty cool gimicky gametypes (extraction, dominion, ect) that weren't added to H2A or H5 >Legendary Slayer fixed Infinity Slayer, a year after launch
you missed how they murdered infection
I was bothered by the infected being flood and the skin but I was willing to get used to it, but the maps were the worst they'd ever been for that mode
>leaked barn footage of halo 4 mp filmed on a potato
I remember the entire community having an "oh god no" reaction to it because instead of course correcting from reach, they doubled down on it.
Just let the series die for fricks sake. No Halo games for 10 years. No shitty live action TV series. Nothing. Let Halo rest for 10 years and then come back to the table and start a reboot if there's a team willing.
I don't understand though
How can such a huge studio have trouble providing live service updates to a game? It seems so simple and straightforward. What else are they spending their time on?
gossiping and driving all the talent out of the office. according to glassdoor reviews. only recently was anything done to get rid of these parasite buttholes.
343i has never been a huge studio, and they were hit hard with layoffs last year. Exact numbers are hard to find (and are likely inaccurate) but 343i isn't even half as large as Bungie, a company that I'd say struggles to release (good) seasonal content. There's a decent amount of unreleased maps, modes, vehicles and weapons that were datamined in season 3. I expect this stuff will slowly be released over seasons but that the game isn't actually being worked on at the moment as they're probably making something new.
That's the case now save for maybe scorpion tanks but whatever you say anon. At least in this you can get a vehicle 90% dead and not have it be 100% health again in 10 seconds.
That doesn't make sense. It's not like the writers are gonna start coding features and the animators are going to start designing maps or something, is it? Maybe they're looking to put them on another project? Isn't Infinite supposed to be a platform, or was that just the next Assassin's Creed thing?
Literally who the FRICK gave a shit about those anyway? They were garbage and should have never existed in the first place since 343 has no talent in telling a story, and then they try to tell a short story with OC donut steel characters every few moments? laughable. not that shifting focus away from that will help them improve the game anyway, and it's not like the people who made those will have the same "talent" that could be used for coding anyway. Just marketing speech for cutting costs (and for once they're cutting costs where it makes sense at least)
Scorpions and Wraiths never spawned only on overtime, the pelican drops are random. That being said, they upped the likelihood of tanks being dropped and included heavy variants of maps with tanks that have set spawn locations (meaning that you don't have to rely on the pelican rng rolls)
I'm susprised people still play and the fact some still eat up all the garbage that is in this game. Cool that infection is coming but that isn't going to help me come back to this absolutely mediocre mess
Just kill the game and the studio and put the IP on ice already. 343 has been so bad for Halo that they aggressively killed any hype and goodwill and interest in it.
They won't focus on the content, anon. Or that is to say, the content won't improve with the cut of this useless content. The issue is that the content would have gotten worse. If the content was going to be alright with the cutscenes in, they would not have cut them. The only reason you start cutting like this is to triage.
The people making the cutscenes aren't the same people making maps, modes, or weapons. The people who made the previous cutscenes are either now out of a job or working on something else.
>The people making the cutscenes aren't the same people making maps, modes, or weapons.
Those are still resources that need to be allocated, ie budget.

is right in that its triaging, but that still means the people making maps, modes and weapons may now have more breathing room. Assuming that chunk of the budget isn't just gone altogether, that is.
Maps are already done, there are like a dozen 100% finished maps that leaked with a dev build of season 3. The only thing missing in regards to content is modes (stuff to do) and weapons, equipment, and vehicles (stuff to use). I just cannot fathom that this stuff is so hard to make that they can't even give us a new toy to shoot every 3 months. For as much as people hated Halo 5, it got huge content updates every few months and it wasn't even an actual GaaS type game. I don't understand why 343 did so well before but can't do shit now.
>I don't understand why 343 did so well before but can't do shit now.
Management restructuring last September, mass layoffs in January, and overall likely having had their budget slashed considerably.
> there are like a dozen 100% finished maps that leaked with a dev build of season 3
I'm only seeing two maps that leaked at that time. Got a link, by chance?
>I'm only seeing two maps that leaked at that time. Got a link, by chance?
Most of the footage has been claimed by Microsoft so nobody wants to publicly host it. That being said, you can see some of the thumbnails in this
343i has never been a huge studio, and they were hit hard with layoffs last year. Exact numbers are hard to find (and are likely inaccurate) but 343i isn't even half as large as Bungie, a company that I'd say struggles to release (good) seasonal content. There's a decent amount of unreleased maps, modes, vehicles and weapons that were datamined in season 3. I expect this stuff will slowly be released over seasons but that the game isn't actually being worked on at the moment as they're probably making something new.
image but it's missing some stuff like a fully finished firefight map (though it's straight ripped from campaign).
Yes, but what I'm coping for is that 343, or morso Microsoft will see that player numbers and player feedback support the notion that cutscenes in multiplayer are not needed at all. That way in the next game the multiplayer narrative/canon bullshit isn't a focus.
It makes logical sense that Microsoft has given up on infinite being a financial success however the data on player count and feedback that can be uses for the next title to make that game succeed will be valuable.
Anon I don't think this singular event in the frickhuge catastrophe that is Infinite's deathmarch will be paid any attention to outside of being a symptom of 343incompetent's mishandling of this IP.
Either Microsoft will see that this studio has no place touching this game and the new studio at the helm will make sure teh game is nothing like this one, or Microsoft will let 343 continue to destroy the franchise and nothing will change.
Hoping for the former and less cutscene slop as well.
Microsoft just stopped giving a frick about Halo.
Another company would try to rescue the IP, give it to another devs. But MS is simply going to let it die a slow death and then hide the remains on a cupboard
>Another company would try to rescue the IP
That was Infinite, anon.
At this point all that can be done is to rebuild 343 with actually competent leadership and proper employees, unlike the circus Bonnie was running with her contract work bullshit.
>I don't think the studio has the resources to make a Destiny 2 style comeback.
Of course not, 343 has fallen well out of favor. It'll take time to rebuild the studio and internal confidence in it, only then can I see 343 being given a proper budget again.
Microsoft had their own Zelda/Kratos equivalent on their hands and just leave it to rot, with them having nothing on their own brand in the end. What a baffling mismanagement.
It's because the previous games were TOO good and feature heavy. You can't have all those base game modes, custom game options, and community features out at once for a one time purchase, you HAVE to drip feed them out as a live service to keep addicted whales on beck and call and keep shareholders happy and player retention high for management bonuses (i.e. we make our games grindy as frick with a battlepass/season and allow them no time to play anything else)
I like the game a lot but it's a death by 1000 papercuts type situation. There is no one giant issue with the game, it's just tiny bits of bullshit that add up to make playing it feel unrewarding. The worst issues are related to performance. No game should have so many crashes and infinite loading screens.
Halo is boring. It's gameplay is boring. I got the anniversary collection because I've never owned an Xbox and wanted to see what all they fuss was, and if this is what you console babies are into I feel sorry for you. Slow ass bullet sponge boring game.
3 came out in 2007, so by your logic the average halo player was 5-6 years old at the time of release.
Nah, maybe if you double that to around 10-12. I was about 14-15 when it came out and I can maybe remember a handful of times I heard an actual child on mic.
>no games >Redfall >Phil admitting defeat in a podcast >Shitfield 30fps >CMA and FTC wiener blocked ABK merger >that fricking troon stream on twitch yesterday
Is Xbox cursed? Why are they so keen on destroying themselves?
Remember how overhyped this piece of shit was, how it was getting nominations left right and center, how youtubers like the act man was sucking 343s wiener down to the balls, I remember, I really fricking remember
They should add Infinite multiplayer to the MCC.
I'd be willing to play it if it was part of the package, but they can't expect me to open a different game for way more limited content
Halo was great when we was kids, it was a great easy bullet magnetisism baby game to get us into gaming, but 343 is parading around the corpse of Halo and have nose dived the franchise into the ground since they bought the fricking thing, please let John rest in our memories, it was a good game back in the day, let it stay there, please stop giving these israeli vultures anything, please let them all rot and burn, I fricking hate 343, I FRICKING HATE 343
Halo really should have ended at 3. The last Halo bungie should have made was ODST. MCC should have released playable and dedicated solely to maintaining the game's multiplayer instead of adding all the shitty maps and tumblr armor. Maybe if they had waited long enough people would be hungry for a reboot of the franchise and we wouldn't have such a split between people who want halo to innovate its gameplay and diehards who want to keep it the same.
I thought Halo: Infinite at least looked somewhat interesting but I refused to play it because 343i ruined Halo's lore and all their previous Halo games were shit so I'd rather see the company fail. I can only see them fail if I don't contribute any money to them, so I'll never buy any Halo product they have touched.
The absolute state of Halo is so depressing to see. I never liked it, but people would buy an Xbox just to play Halo. Now nobody's playing it even though it's free.
Halo used to by synonymous with Xbox, Master Chief was the unofficial mascot of Xbox. Now it's in the fricking dumpster. I can't believe Microsoft would let a franchise that BUILT their console get so horrendous.
Yea they dont care about anything but making money, a lot of morons like to call halo a ticking time bomb but it really wasn't. Each game had a massive turnout its just that they all sucked every time and people left. I dont know what they were thinking with removing half the features that people played Halo for and then pretending that the game play was godtier enough to not care about that but 343 were out of their fricking minds.
Halo will NEVER be a successful franchise again, unless they decide to completely overhaul the gameplay mechanics.
The Halo fans are morons, because they are chasing a memory of a game that's 20 years old. They keep running into the same glass door like a dog thinking it'll get better. Until they get rid of the shitty arcade shooter mechanics, Halo will remain a dead franchise.
>unless they decide to completely overhaul the gameplay mechanics
So you want Call of Halo: TitanFall of Destiny...but I forgot that 343i that already tried that.
Okay. Then enjoy watching your favorite franchise forever be defunded and thrown into the trash because no one wants to play an arcade shooter anymore.
>unless they decide to completely overhaul the gameplay mechanics.
That's actually not true, the real problem is that they refuse to make a normal Halo game because there was this grand delusional that Halo was outdated when it really wasn't, the gameplay was fine it was that Microsoft and 343industries couldn't accept that the game wouldn't have a million concurrent players like the glory days so they kept fricking up the game, slowly as time went on it just lost all its players.
Halo Infinite should of been a combination of Halo Wars and regular Halo. A first person RTS style war game that doesn't feel like an arcade game. Where commanding troops, calling in airstrikes, reconnaissance missions, and open world all mixed together. With recoil, screen shake, and battle intensity that mimics real life war. Halo could of been a true war game set in space, but instead all the Halo fans want a Quake style run-n-gun bunny hopping arcade shooter.
I hope the franchise finally dies once and for all.
Its pretty solid, some of the characters are better and I actually think dougles, alice and jerome were much better characters in this one. I really hope they let Creative Assembly make a full blown rts now that the ip's gonna get thrown around like a prostitute
As much as I fricking despise 343 and think that they're easily one of the worst developers out there, a lot of the blame has to go to Phil Spencer. That dumb motherfricker has sat idly by while Microsoft's flagship franchise has been ran into the ground and is now a laughing stock of the gaming world. I honestly don't know how he hasn't disbanded 343 yet and moved the people working there off from working on whatever future Halo shit they have going on.
so what comes next?
Death.
Finally
>the only Halo killer was the game itself
As always, the only things that kill the top dogs are themselves
The WoW Killer is WoW
The Overwatch Killer is Overwatch
The Pokemon Killer will be/is Pokemon
The Fortnite Killer will be Fortnite
>The Fortnite Killer will be Fortnite
fortnite was already killed by fortnite
I will never forget being the only person I knew that was hyped for fortnite for like 5 years because it was basically gears horde mode as a whole game
Then the real fortnite never even got finished
Fortnite is very much alive and well, I can't really think of much that'd kill it at this point aside from Epic just shutting it down out of nowhere.
>Overwatch Killer was Overwatch
Black person, the Overwatch Killer was fricking TF2
False. OW and TF2 offer completely different gameplay. OW devs are so moronic they killed their game twice. Those fricks couldn't balance a game to save their life.
>TF2 troons seething about Overwatch
Its hilarious how badly Overwatch mindbroke tf2trannies.
Overwatch absolutely BTFOd tf2 and still does. And OW is a fricking piece of shit game.
Overwatch was never a top dog. It is, was and always will be an inferior experience to TF2.
many such cases.
Game has been dead for a while this is just a random twitch and the expelling of gases
Total 343Black person Death
a very pathetic series of events
they shit out the content they have for S4, wrap up S5 (should be finished production wise by late july based on current rates?) then they announce they're "winding down the big marketed releases, but still intend to support this game for years to come!" and then pull everyone but a skeleton crew off it, just to fix exploits, bugs, and other shit like that, then it just ends up like MCC.
So the 10 years of updates actually comes out to be more like ~4 years? Bang up job, 343, bang up job.
Halo Infinite+1 no take backs
>so what comes next?
Consume next product.
You no longer will be scammed out of money, I know you see no upside paypig, but games are meant to be finished so hopefully better are made
I believe this game did not perform particularly well due to most people getting it for free-ish.
COD replaces halo
we are like 4 years away from a 3arc cod and those are the only ones I play
ANNOUNCING HALO INFITE 2 COMING JULY 2025 WITH 20 YEAR SUPPORT
>halo infinite 2
you know that it is Halo 7, right?
thats the joke moron, the whole point of it being called infinite is because they promised prolonged post launch support
Hopefully nothing. Or a total retcon of everything past Halo 3.
Most likely 343 is just gonna do seasonal updates for a year or two and drop updates to start working on something else, in the meantime that Halo Battle Royale will release next year while Microsoft allows other studios to start making Halo games.
Acquire Bungie and retcon everything after 3.
Bungie hasn't made a good game in over a decade.
destiny is not a game, it's their personal abusive investor bank they use to fund other projects, they want to be like valve but didnt have steam
Destiny is a whale making scheme and this piece of trash filled with homosexualry calling itself Marathon will be more of the same.
Popular video games aren't for people looking for fun anymore, they're for social and gambling addicts.
>fun
I miss old Bungie and their "FUN" mentality.
?t=202
Jason Jones became such a money hungry idiot since Destiny came out.
Even if you don't consider Destiny to be a game, Bungie still hasn't released anything worthwhile since 2009.
Halo as a series ended with 3. Reach was a little desert after the main course.
Halo 3 remastered with a garbage progression system to milk the most $$$ possible
What improvements? They can't even put out any maps not made in forge or new weapons.
They literally released two new maps today. And a new weapon was released last season but I understand your point.
not yet. Of course shill doesn't even play the game
343 are the best stand up comedians in the industry, I haven't stopped laughing since E3 2020!
Haven't stopped laughing since 2011
Multiplayer story cutscenes were garbage. Wow a 1 minute cutscene that tells no story every 4 months. Who the frick actually cares that they're gone?
elites dont look like that
How do you know?
Elites are not mammals so they can't have breasts
Not real breasts. It's to lure in their prey. You know like those fake eyes on butterflies but like the opposite
At least it was something. Banished AI trying to attack Agryna's spartan academy? ONI secrets? Seemed kind of cool. But I guess people want more Master Chief and Weapon on zeta halo instead.
The story boiled down to idiot Spartan recruits shooting each other in simulations. Multiplayer stories are fricking garbage especially this one.
>Multiplayer stories are fricking garbage especially this one.
Titanfall 1 did it right
Everyone wanted a campaign which is why 2 had one.
I love gambit because of its context in relation to the story of destiny
>light? lmao who cares kill your friends and get rich homie you respawn anyway
Because 343 is dumb and shortsighted
Holy frick
RSS is even worse.
Halo 4 spartan ops they have these ideas thrown around to make another Halo Reach with your MP spartan these are dropped always
It as always kinda assumed to be some sort of training thing, but never to the extent that you got cutscenes and shit shoved in your face.
343 is obsessed with loreifying everything
>because muh sprint, muh slide, muh climber, muhhhhh YOU NEED TO FEEL LIKE A REAL SPARTAN BECAUSE THE BOOKS SAID SO!
and you can't still dual wielding
Dual wielding was a shitty mechanic just like every other one you listed.
>muh shit
filtered by the dual SMG CHAD
2 guns just to match the damage output of this beast.
Because Bungie were so moronic and they didn't know how to balance dual wielding. Nerfing the damage output was a mistake and how many of those weapon spawn in the map.
Worse yet, they completely removed the bump fire accuracy with the SMG.
Frick Halo 2, piece of fricking shit game
Who hurt you anon? Halo 2 is comfy
Go back to Twitter
Elevator 2 can suck my dick
You sound like a butthurt CEgay
The SMG inherently did half as much damage as the AR. The whole mechanic was only in service of making Halo 2's box art look cooler.
how about we just forget all that garbage and the next is chief waking up in the pod after being rescued by the spirit of fire?
If they can barely push out frickkng updates, stop wasting their time with the fricking story
No people playing multiplayer just wanna shoot each other
No, I want more red dudes and blue dudes fighting over a box canyon in the middle of nowhere and 343 couldn't even manage that.
The gun play and graphics are the only improvements I can give credit for
>paper thin """story""" full of even less substantial characters with zero personality
Yeah riveting stuff.
Please understand, each of those cutscenes took hundreds of pahjeet hours to make
Still doing better than Overwatch I guess
MCC still has more players BTW
At least on mcc I can only play against xbox users with a controller. No input and platform based filters on all modes means I’ll never touch infinite again.
I plaf inf over mcc because inf doesnt need live to play online
and factions...
Halo 5 still king though, and they say xbox has no games 🙂
They could've easily done different finishes
>how about a chrome finish
>what about a rust patina finish
>rubberized textured
>tons of camo patterns
How about more creative stuff like
>a finish that changes color based on how many kills you have
>or health
>or pattern that changes based on what team you're on, so you can have the classic red and blue, frick it, it doesn't matter
They could've easily fricking milked it but they're too goddamn moronic, it's insane. It's like money on the table ready to be taken but they accidentally tied their shoes together and fell over.
kek, anon was right. So many aspects of the game are like that.
Microsoft can afford billions to buy new game companies but can't afford to develop xbox's flagship franchise. Boggles the mind.
Because it's not about the money. 3 guys made the best Battlefield game just recently and completely BTFOd Dice and EA.
>3 guys made the best Battlefield game just recently
What's the name? Sounds interesting.
Battlebit Remastered
Thanks, I'll check it out.
Can't complain about 10 years at the top.
frick off shill no one gives a damn about this game
>seasonal narrative cutscenes
What the hell is that? Do they just mean cinematics?
t. never played Halo past 2
the MP for infinite was meant to have it's own storyline unfold during it's seasons primarily via cutscenes, all it amount to across Season 2 to 4 was narratively justifying why Infection is a gamemode now.
Which is why 343 is garbage. Story has no place in multiplayer especially when it comes to game modes and content
Good news then, they’re cutting it
I don’t think people appreciate that just about the entire management of 343 was gutted like 9 months ago and the new people in charge have been stripping out the shit they don’t care about from the plans put in place by the old team. An ongoing multiplayer story sounds like a Frank O’Connor thing and now that he’s out they can ditch it and put that money towards actual stuff for the game.
>Frank O’Connor left
Holy fricking shit, I didn't know that I guess all the trash left after doing frickall for more than a decade..
343 is healing.
343 isn't healing, it's decomposing. Feel free to celebrate all those idiots leaving, but acknowledge that Microsoft is on a hiring freeze and the people being made to fill those positions are inexperienced subordinates who don't know what they're doing. 343i is the Titanic, and Microsoft is just trying to keep the ship afloat until the Activision deal goes through and they can let Halo sink for good.
sorry guys, you still have to pay full price for a game, but we just can't continue to give you what we used to
does this game have its battle royale yet?
firefight?
halo 5 Warzone?
The only connection I still retain with this garbage is me getting a notification on Steam that they added a new LGBT or BLM cosmetic... are they trying to make up for Halo being one of the most toxic communities in the 2000s or something?
343 is trying to get sympathy for minimal effort
>our game is so great that we need to cut features
>turns out the true Halo Killer was Halo itself
Such is the fate of every trendsetter.
>343 just never made a Halo at all.
yes, actually, if you think about it. they hired people that didn't like halo, to make halo.
Even worse. They hired people who hated halo to make cod and call it halo
So true, im praying each 343 worker gets sleep paralysis every nighjt
Shit Bungie made before Halo
>Operation: Desert Storm
>Minotaur: The Labyrinth of Crete
>Pathways into Darkness
>Marathon
>Marathon 2: Durandal
>Marathon Infinity
>Myth: The Fallen Lords
>Myth II: Soulblighter
>Oni
Shit 343i made before Halo 4
>worked on some Halo Reach DLC maps
>343i headed by some random MS b***h and the bald forum jannie who joined Bungie after Halo 2: "We're going to make OUR version of Halo!"
lmao, the hubris of it all
>muh Bungle
didn't ask
don't care
Based
Cringe
>worked on some Halo Reach DLC maps
AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN WORK ON THAT, THEY FRICKING OUTSOURCED IT TO CERTAIN AFFINITY
>Shit 343i made before Halo 4
>worked on some Halo Reach DLC maps
Jaime Griesemer left Bungie after Sage happened (lol remember when everyone blamed him back then)
https://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2010/03/31/exclusive-interview-on-the-halo-reach-sandbox.aspx
Speaking of CA and Max Hoberman, is this Tatanka thing ever going to release? It's not dead, they had job listings open for Halo on their website earlier this year.
after skimming that article for a few minute, I have gained insight that gameinformer used to be decent and their writers have dropped in quality (or maybe editors want the smut nothingburger article written that way)
some of the models and textures for the campaign of infinite were outsourced to saber interactive too
Wow woke people are actually kind of scummy, who would have seen that coming?
>Treyarch cloned CoD so well on their first attempt with CoD 3
>Terrible story
>Terrible mechanics
>Not using ID Tech for the engine
>Class Based Multiplayer with vehicles
Yeah dude, they emulated early cod so well.
Yep. Halo wants to be CoD so much.
>the Halo community
The what? Where?
Even COD is going the way of Halo
How did FIFA die?
>They lost LigaMX so Mexicans aren't interested any more.
>Lost the literal title of the name because the FIFA wanted more money, now it's called EA SPORTS FC
>Pushing for female football teams is driving people away
That's the stuff that bothers me personally, but maybe there's more to it
Unfortunately I can agree. I would say this is the best time to support Indies and AA Middleware companies if at all possible and also Open Source Engines like GodotEngine to help things heal quicker in the Gaming sphere overall.
>let's bring in people to make Halo who hated Halo
>the fans will love it
I will never ever ever EVER understand this logic.
See, it’s “better” now…
It's the same kind of people writing Nu-Star Trek shows, they hate how perfect the federation/main authority is because 'authority bad!' despite the fact that it's always been much more nuanced than that
Thank fricking God. EVERY FRICKING TIME I launched the game, it would always show the fricking cutscene.
>playing Halo
>>>for the "story"
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>in 2012+11
>infection added
Maybe next season we'll get Firefight of some kind and then we can actually say Infinite shipped
Comical how badly they flopped, this F R E E multiplayer released at almost 300k players and was primed to crush the shitty Battlefield and lackluster COD at the time
And they fricked it up
>Miss me yet?
Frick that stupid stubborn broad. Bonnie Ross was the reason why 343 was immediately dogshit.
Bonnie Ross should be publicly lynched, the entire 343 staff should aswell
Bonnie Ross, Frank O Connor and Kiki Wolfkill are all part of the reason Halo isn't even mainstream anymore.
This shit was Disney tier considering Gaylo fans are Blizzard tier.
No. This b***h is one of the main reasons 343 is such a disaster. She has been making moronic decisions, one after another, since 343 was established.
This people forget she saw Halo as entertainment ip so instead of meaning more shit like Halo legends or more books we got Foward Unto Dawn, Spartan Ops withs it's moronic cutscenes and story (finished off in a comic lol), and the Halo TV show
Forward Unto Dawn was good thoughever
>she saw Halo as entertainment ip
This right here is what kills most series.
Trying to go from a game with some expanded lore to "TOTALLY NOT THE MCU BUT SOMEHOW EVEN GAYER" just results in you stretching the existing fictional world you have way to thin and turns 90% of your lore into incoherent asspulling to justify the god awful writing you came up with.
No lol this b***h helped mismanage this franchise into the ground no atiru direction interesting ideas killed off screen or 180 on anything cool and interesting like Didact or the mantis
I don’t really care. As long as they keep pumping out content and supporting the game that’s all I want.
business is funny man, like how does this shit even happen? how can halo be so well liked by so many people but microsoft can't find people smart enough and talented enough to continue it
Well they are part of the problem, as I understand it MS Game Studios are the ones making all the decisions and one big issue is that most 343i are temporal hires with contracts lasting no more than 18 months and for multi-year productions it means teams rotate constantly with new hires having no clue on how to proceed.
Arkane was doomed the moment they got bought by Bethesda.
Arkansas unironcally didn't care about Redfall they were told to make another Bugthesda goyslop live service results were made
Bonnie is the only reason games after Halo 3 were even made. Learn some respect, nubs.
Microshit would continue to pump them out regardless.
Halo 4 still printed money despite being dogshit and Halo 5 did alright considering how pathetically low the number of Xboner users were.
stop i can only hate her so much
How fricking high production were these cutscenes if they were too much work and needed to be cut?
It's AAA anon, these bloated frickhuge multinational companies will take 2 months and 20K dollars just to make 10 second teaser trailer consisting solely of footage taken directly from the game.
>highly requested features, content and improvements
Feels good to know they have their priorities in check
Good. It's high time this half-assed excuse for a plot finally died a dishonorable death once and for all.
>Plot
*Franchise
FTFY
Let's cool it with the misogyny, fellas.
They should just make a full 1 to 1 remake of Halo CE but they'll find a way to screw it up
>full 1 to 1 remake of CE
You don't know do you the made Halo CE remastered they tried to copy Reach for the designs and ruined the atmosphere of the flood levels completely and the desert mesa that misson 3 takes place on isn't a desert now lol only pillar of autumn actually looks good in the remakes
Who the frick is still buying Halo games
Halo 4 came out over a decade ago and was irredeemable trash, who GENUINELY kept buying games after that?
>-game modes
>Invasion will never come back
theres a custom game like it
The forge tools will never make inf as fun as mcc with steam workshop
what time does official infected release? I like the variety of customs esp that have wea.on spawns and spartan abilies like dash and smoke for infected but I want the easy map rotation of matchmaking and honesty maybe a good bot zombie infected mode where we can have buildable defenses and upgrades and some covenant enemies like a real horde mode
frick that. I wanted a midnight release in the us
Why?
So I could play rn, I'm awake and cant sleep
It is kind of moronic that any content updates don't come out until afternoon for a majority of the player base.
>highly requested features
>we wont have assassination's at launch
>implying they are coming at some point
>fast-forward to today
>Yeah so the animation rigs weren't built with assassinations in mind so we wont be doing assassinations
>implying they were never planning on adding assassinations
I've hardly played since it came out. I mainly play 2042 which came out around the same time and it was shitted big time by launch Infinite fans that have been quiet ever since then.
Does the game have a progression system worth a shit yet?
I just want the Flood back
The fact that Season 4 actually released on time is pathetically a major milestone.
Reminder, season 1 was extended 3 months.
Season 2 was extended 9 MONTHS (NINE)
lol, 343i must have some serious dirt on someone in M$ to not been kicked out long ago for their continuous frick-ups.
>Company realizes they can't actually make content for 10 years and gets rid of it
Wow. No surprise there
Oh no, no more giga Black person female spartan cutscenes!
What will we do now, gamers?
>Time and resources will go to the actual game instead of diversity quota cutscenes
>Time and resources will go to the actual game
I miss being this hopeful
Post male elites instead
>after scamming their players with FOMO skins they switch to cost reduced direct purchase to milk the dregs
>advertising infection like adding a popular Halo 2 custom game years after launch is a success
>can't even manage making cutscenes for some dog shit MP story no one cares about
seriously just terminate the company, it's over, the rats all left the ship anyway
Can't wait for them to get even more desperate and add even dumber shit in the store to sell

Well that was the shortest story arch ever.
>We arrive at the new Spartan training facility.
>Nothing happens.
>Some time later two lone wolves show up carrying a Banished AI.
>We play Multi-player to draw out the AI and trap it.(???)
>Then it finds a secret ONI facility conveniently underground.(???)
>The AI takes control and starts infecting other Spartans.
>THE END.
if you want to shit on everything about all that matter this is the place:
I'm pretty hyped for Infection if I'm being honest. I like the more social chill modes and not the sweat fest that the majority of playlists seem to be...
I think BTB in Infinite is fun
>skip cutscenes
>never bought a battle pass in my life
>short queues for BTB
Infinite is fine.
glad they are outsourcing Halo to other hopeful more capable companies. Its just beyond dead if they leave it with 343
Im still stuck on back right after launch when there was only like 3 playlists (Quick play, TDM, and BTB) and BTB was literally broken and unplayable for a fricking month
5 minutes into Halo 4
>ruined MK VI design, shows a flashback of Spartan IIs wearing it instead of MK IV
>ONI suddenly pretending like Dr. Halsey was acting independently, and not a civilian they hired and funded every step of the way
>Chief says "I thought we had a truce with the Covenant" because 343i didn't understand that Elites left the Covenant in Halo 2
>later, the Storm Covenant kneel to a living Forerunner even though their entire religion is predicated on all Forerunners ascending to Godhood, and anyone left behind in this shitty reality is a heretical demon (this is why Truth is shitting on Johnson for his ancestors leaving him behind when they became Gods at the end of H3, back when there were good writers trying to limit Frank O'Connors damage)
No one is reading all that, mate.
I read it and I agree with him
Why can't it be both? It would be very ONI to pin all the blame on one person and then kill them.
>Most MCC players play Reach
Why is Reach so popular?
Reach has the most game types and content
It cannot be stated how absolutely soul-crushingly awful Halo 4's launch was back in the day
>Halo CEA and H4 revealed at E3 2011
>April 2012 Game Informer reveals first details about Halo 4's multiplayer and it's so bad everyone thinks it's actually a joke.
>Less content than Reach
>Loadouts, perks, universal sprint, Infinity Slayer with weapon drops and no weapons on map
>No asymmetric gametypes, but no symmetrical maps
>The only symmetrical maps in the game are Haven and the Pit remake that's released over a year after launch
>Perks are either meaningless or stupidly broken
>DMR dominates the meta because of reduced bloom and the launch BR taking 5 shots to kill
>Gametypes include:
>Infinity Slayer: Get kills to earn drops of completely random weapons meant to emulate killstreaks
>Dominion: Territories
>Extraction: Assault that no one understands and AFAIK never appeared in Halo 4 matchmaking until the MCC's overhaul in 2019
>Regicide: Juggernaut but not really
>Oddball: The same as always but with ball throwing, the only good mechanic in all of Halo 4.
>Turbo Update
>4 had some pretty cool gimicky gametypes (extraction, dominion, ect) that weren't added to H2A or H5
>Legendary Slayer fixed Infinity Slayer, a year after launch
you missed how they murdered infection
I was bothered by the infected being flood and the skin but I was willing to get used to it, but the maps were the worst they'd ever been for that mode
>leaked barn footage of halo 4 mp filmed on a potato
I remember the entire community having an "oh god no" reaction to it because instead of course correcting from reach, they doubled down on it.
Just a reminder that both sony and ms are all in on Games as a Service
this is the future of these kinds of games
Just let the series die for fricks sake. No Halo games for 10 years. No shitty live action TV series. Nothing. Let Halo rest for 10 years and then come back to the table and start a reboot if there's a team willing.
I don't understand though
How can such a huge studio have trouble providing live service updates to a game? It seems so simple and straightforward. What else are they spending their time on?
gossiping and driving all the talent out of the office. according to glassdoor reviews. only recently was anything done to get rid of these parasite buttholes.
Joe staten left years ago.
I expect this stuff will slowly be released over seasons but that the game isn't actually being worked on at the moment as they're probably making something new.
>vehicle repair field
>in a halo game where the vehicles already have too much health
take me back to when vehicles were dependent on driver's health
Anon when vehicles were dependent on the driver, the vehicle itself was a vehicle repair field on a couple second cooldown.
felt fine then. Every vehicle/driver could be killed with 1-2 rockets or some grenades. Tanks feel way too strong in infinite
Of course it doesn't make sense, it's a diplomatic way of saying games so dead it's not worth paying animators for
Literally who the FRICK gave a shit about those anyway? They were garbage and should have never existed in the first place since 343 has no talent in telling a story, and then they try to tell a short story with OC donut steel characters every few moments? laughable. not that shifting focus away from that will help them improve the game anyway, and it's not like the people who made those will have the same "talent" that could be used for coding anyway. Just marketing speech for cutting costs (and for once they're cutting costs where it makes sense at least)
> Literally doesn't have the resources to basically make an FMV.
Microshart are done. It's all down to selling people's advert data for that shitshow.
did they make scorpions and wraiths spawn on intervals instead of only on overtime yet?
How bad could it be?
>MCC won
Despite it not being perfect i'm very glad to see it
fairly sure at least 200K of those for infinite were bots and smurf accounts.
Good, multiplayer shooters don't need fricking narrative cutscenes ffs. The more they can focus on core content, the better.
They won't focus on the content, anon. Or that is to say, the content won't improve with the cut of this useless content. The issue is that the content would have gotten worse. If the content was going to be alright with the cutscenes in, they would not have cut them. The only reason you start cutting like this is to triage.
With the cut of these useless cutscenes* I can't type this morning
That being said, you can see some of the thumbnails in this
image but it's missing some stuff like a fully finished firefight map (though it's straight ripped from campaign).
Can't even deliver the bare minimum. why is 343 so incompetent?
It hurts lads
Microsoft just stopped giving a frick about Halo.
Another company would try to rescue the IP, give it to another devs. But MS is simply going to let it die a slow death and then hide the remains on a cupboard
>Another company would try to rescue the IP
That was Infinite, anon.
At this point all that can be done is to rebuild 343 with actually competent leadership and proper employees, unlike the circus Bonnie was running with her contract work bullshit.
Black dude in charge of MCC recently took over. I have faith in him but I don't think the studio has the resources to make a Destiny 2 style comeback.
>I don't think the studio has the resources to make a Destiny 2 style comeback.
Of course not, 343 has fallen well out of favor. It'll take time to rebuild the studio and internal confidence in it, only then can I see 343 being given a proper budget again.
>MCC lead goes to try and plug up holes in infinite's sinking ship
>MCC mod tools are still broken
Microsoft had their own Zelda/Kratos equivalent on their hands and just leave it to rot, with them having nothing on their own brand in the end. What a baffling mismanagement.
It's because the previous games were TOO good and feature heavy. You can't have all those base game modes, custom game options, and community features out at once for a one time purchase, you HAVE to drip feed them out as a live service to keep addicted whales on beck and call and keep shareholders happy and player retention high for management bonuses (i.e. we make our games grindy as frick with a battlepass/season and allow them no time to play anything else)
have 80 hours of infinite time. it's a great game, twerps can hate all they want
I like the game a lot but it's a death by 1000 papercuts type situation. There is no one giant issue with the game, it's just tiny bits of bullshit that add up to make playing it feel unrewarding. The worst issues are related to performance. No game should have so many crashes and infinite loading screens.

Halo 2 will not be shit
but Halo came 22 years ago and most of their playerbase where college students
The most popular entries were 3, Reach and 4 and they were played by squeakers that are only now 21.
3 came out in 2007, so by your logic the average halo player was 5-6 years old at the time of release.
Nah, maybe if you double that to around 10-12. I was about 14-15 when it came out and I can maybe remember a handful of times I heard an actual child on mic.
Every single match I am verse 20 year vets while I have 5 or 6 complete new players going 0/9
Frick Halo. 343 will never get it right. I will be uninstalling and forgetting this game for good.

the average lewd elite poster
Literally me
They should add Infinite multiplayer to the MCC.
Holy shit, are they really fooling anyone with this shit? they're supported by a trillion dollar company with an infinite amount of money.
Its fricking over, whoever spent money on this shit game is coping right now
I thought Halo: Infinite at least looked somewhat interesting but I refused to play it because 343i ruined Halo's lore and all their previous Halo games were shit so I'd rather see the company fail.
Screencap this.
>unless they decide to completely overhaul the gameplay mechanics
So you want Call of Halo: TitanFall of Destiny...but I forgot that 343i that already tried that.
Okay. Then enjoy watching your favorite franchise forever be defunded and thrown into the trash because no one wants to play an arcade shooter anymore.
Your mentality is so moronic that I'm pretty sure people like you are the reason why Microsoft's gaming division is going down the gutter entirely.
>unless they decide to completely overhaul the gameplay mechanics.
>Screencap this.
moronation is very common nowadays, nothing about your post is screencap worthy.
Play Halo Wars 2 it's actually good
It's decent, still no where near what bungie was putting out.
He basically has. Most of 343's staff was laid off earlier this year, including the moron woman that was running the studio into the ground.
I still can't wrap my head around how raw the campaign was. Felt like playing pre-alpha
But bro, GRAPPLE HOOK!!! In all seriousness though, the campaign was some generic open world trash. It's painfully average at best.
>only appealing aspect of the entire series is that it's generic army space guys vs aliens
>remove the playable aliens
Is it just my nostalgia talking, or does Halo 3 actually have better lighting than Halo 4, 5, and Infinite?
why the hud is so big now?
