i've been playing wrath of the lamb on a flash emulator. the only problem i've run into is that it sometimes freezes, but if i restart between games that's rare.
And it kind of sucks. Flash's art wasn't particularly good, but Edmund was actually a very good artist (at least then) so they were kind of "good artist bad". Like you could grasp a lot of personality from the graphics.
Nicalis' pixel slop is just bad and it isn't interesting to look at.
So what % damage reduction does void boss have? More than hush? I went in with stacked items and the datamining card effect which had nutty damage effects and it took me 5 minutes to get him down to 30%, couldn't even kill him. Meanwhile I nuked hush within 5 mins with much less powerful items.

Abyss turning active items into something actually helpful just makes him one of the best characters in the game.
D7 can be abused to get extra resources and D8 can unfrick your stats if your run is particularly atrocious. They aren't awful, but their use case is obvious to justify their existence.
D4 used to be dogshit because it'd turn your entire run into breakfast. It's fun now that it doesn't exhaust the pool.
Only D10 and D12 are particularly hard to justify a use case for. D10 may have been buffed significantly but if your run needs enemies downgraded you're already in a shit situation, you should be able to beat basic enemies with base stats so it's just a filler item until you find a real one. D12 requires a room with lots of rocks and obstacles to justify using over and over, but you'll rarely get value out of that since you're either going to be trying to spawn more marked rocks or special rocks for the floor (mushrooms, polyps, skulls) or get past rocks and are praying for explosive barrels to get through.
D10 having a two-room charge to make enemies (including Grimaces) weaker is great. Certain rooms can have some really annoying enemies, so making them easier is just nice.
D12 is also great, since it can spawn Tinted Rocks, Crawlspaces, Golden Poops and more. Even just normal Poops or Fireplaces can give you things.

The difference between isaac and every other dime a dozen dogshit roguelike is that in isaac you have some amount of control over the game and exuding your control over the game systems in spite of the game being random is what makes it good. The best runs being where you turn a run where if you did nothing you would be dead into something great because you know how the inner mechanisms work. vanilla T cain was the perfect, al they had to do was remove the clicker from the crafting menu and that was it but instead they fricked it all up so now hes dogshit and a chore to play
He could've left at any time, he willfully retreated into the chest as his escape because he felt like he deserved it. None of the (real) endings show the chest being locked. Dying in the game is Isaac leaving the chest early, robbing him of his catharsis. Completing a run is him dying.

I played t. Cain when he had fixed recipes. Everyone talked about spending 20~ minutes fricking around to craft d20 and mom's key and then all the actual items they wanted. In reality it was just using the console to spawn items but with extra steps involved so I instead opted for just giving myself items via console and getting all my t. Cain marks done in like 20 min total

that's how it works in local coop, and how it worked in the hidden beta version of online, so it'll probably be how it works in the finished online unless they mess with it
upsides are that you can time it to get multiple items from multi-choice item pedestals (J&E can do the same themselves) and iirc bosses spawn multiple items in a row per player
tyrone confirmed that each person gets their own separate boss and treasure room item. that being said you will still need to share shops and devil/angel deals.

how do you get the camera that zoomed out, just messing with the scale settings in the config file or whatever? or is it a mod? how's it look in a 1x1 room?
The Max Scale option in optinions.ini (located in the Repentance folder in "My Documents") or this mod which lets you change it in-game.

That effect can really get distracting because the game has to constantly pause and reset itself when you change the max scale. I just stick on that option I use in that pic.

He could've left at any time, he willfully retreated into the chest as his escape because he felt like he deserved it. None of the (real) endings show the chest being locked.
Dying in the game is Isaac leaving the chest early, robbing him of his catharsis. Completing a run is him dying.

I played t. Cain when he had fixed recipes. Everyone talked about spending 20~ minutes fricking around to craft d20 and mom's key and then all the actual items they wanted. In reality it was just using the console to spawn items but with extra steps involved so I instead opted for just giving myself items via console and getting all my t. Cain marks done in like 20 min total

How does Isaac MP even work? You have to split items?
that's how it works in local coop, and how it worked in the hidden beta version of online, so it'll probably be how it works in the finished online unless they mess with it
upsides are that you can time it to get multiple items from multi-choice item pedestals (J&E can do the same themselves) and iirc bosses spawn multiple items in a row per player
tyrone confirmed that each person gets their own separate boss and treasure room item. that being said you will still need to share shops and devil/angel deals.
